A 48-year-old Thai photographer Visarute Angkatavanich captures a beautiful aquatic art portraying Siamese fighting fish (Betta Splendens) in a different way. Against stark contrasts of white and black backgrounds, he creates fantastic photos of these animals using crystalline aquariums, powerful lenses and spectacular lighting. The effect is truly magnificent transforming the fish into magical creatures as though they were hovering in the air instead of water.
After 20 years of working in the commercial field, the artist started the ornamental fish project that was inspired by the memories of his own childhood pet fish. These pieces of art have become a huge success on the Internet, primarily within the gallery of Betta Splends. Although, a greater notoriety came later when the images were introduced in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models as wallpapers.

That must be one fish shown three time. Bettas are Siamese Fighting fish and they will fight any other male in the area. The females do not have the long fins.

It's that pretty much what they are, though? They're tiny carps, which supposedly can become dragons according to legend, so tiny dragon seems accurate.

Striking colors and pattern! I've never seen a Betta with this type of pattern.
Some of these fishy photos remind me of close-ups of parrot tulips.

Beautiful, compelling photography. Though I've never had a particular interest in fish, I can visualize some of these photos enlarged and framed on my walls.

I have these fishes when I was a little, it was blue and green like the other photos. My brother has a black betta one and that bytch killed my fish. After that my brother brought me another blue and red and that bytch killed him too. Never again! I have never seen white one before, and the way he capture was stunning, looks like they were Flamenco dancer.
You cannot keep two males together, as they will fight to the death.

To continue... They are VERY easy to care for. Their natural habitat is still places in rivers. They LOVE it when mud obstructs the view of potential predators. All you need is a bowl, no filter, no heater, nothing fancy. Change out the water every week, and give them moss balls (you can get them at aquarium stores or online) that prevent the water from becoming acidic. That's all you need. Mind (Leo, Red Crowntail) lives in the bathroom on a glass shelf. /// They're very interesting to watch, and a warning. If they look like they're just drifting at the bottom of the bowl, don't panic. They sleep a lot.
