Kids are often underestimated. We think they are too little to know anything. However, you if you spend more time with them you may soon be very surprised.
To prove it, let's share the best inventions that our kids came up with. You never know when it might turn into a real product!

Saxton Made His Own Movie Theatre Today. For Those Who Can't Tell, It's A Lincoln Log Frame And His Phone Taped To The Bill Of A Hat
Wow Jen, It isn't about the phone or the logs. It is about the idea and exaction. In the future he will put the same critical thinking into everything he does. This is something to be praised and reworded because the thought that went into this.
Jen, i literally left, made an account and came back to specifically down vote your comment.
I don't get all these sanctimonious hypocrites...Watching cartoons or a movie on tv is okay but as soon as a kid watches something on a "technology device" they freak. We live in the age of technology, yet this child obviously has regular toys (Lincoln logs) that he also plays with so what's the problem? He showed creativity, ingenuity, problem solving, and "thinking outside the box". That's what should be focused on (and rewarded), not the fact that he has or is using a technology device.
**FOR THOSE WONDERING WHO JEN IS**- she's here spewing vile poison about children.
This is Saxton's mom. For those with positive feedback, thank you, he has read each and every one of these comments. For the rest of you, did it occur to you that these are photos pulled off of instagram? These kids didn't enter an invention contest and ask for your criticism. They don't even claim these to be actual inventions, just fun projects or ideas they had to make their moment in time easier for them. Did it occur to you that these kids may be reading your comments? Our family was excited when we first saw this post and were tagged by friends and family who saw Saxton's pic. It was fun for all of 5 minutes until he sat down, looked at all the other photos and started reading the comments coming in. These kids didn't ask for your comments but many of you have done a great job of stifling their creativity by making them not want to share their ideas again in fear of criticism they didn't even ask for or want to hear. (read subsequent post)
I am so MAD about the people blabbering on about kids and devices! They exist to make the universe a better place! Also: Phones emit harmless photons and weak, harmless radio waves. No one will die.
To answer some of your comments: Saxton is a family name that goes back a hundred years so we think it's pretty cool. Don't care if you don't like it. He is now 14 and he's not dead. He's kicking around pretty great. He's his school mascot, started his own lawn mowing company this summer, took over one of our business warehouses by building a half pipe and several skate jumps and now has half the neighborhood/school kids skating on our property and still loves to build and take apart anything he can get his hands on. Don't worry about him, he is turning out just perfectly.
Your son sounds like a great kid, it's such a shame some people feel the need to be so spiteful online. It sounds like you've got the right attitude though, it's great to see a parent encouraging their child's creativity. Please tell Saxton not to pay any attention to those saying mean things, they are just saddos with nothing better to do with their time than sit at a keyboard criticising children! I think his "invention " is great and I'm glad to hear he's still creating!
Load More Replies...I am definitely not trying to insult this because it's an awesome idea but it looks a bit close to his eyes, personally it would aggravate my visual migraines but if it's not bad for his eyes then that's a bonus!
If you're gonna criticise people for simply using the internet, don't be a hypocrite and get on off the internet. It would be great for our sanity, too! :D

My girl friends son got tired of having to pick up the toothpaste , open the cap, squeeze toothpaste on his toothbrush, put cap back on, put paste away and then start brushing his teeth. So he nailed it to the wall with the cap down, Easy right? It was for him for one more day. His sister left the cap off, paste down a wall on to the floor. He said, " well back to the drawing board". 8 years old at the time. lol
Laziness leads to different needs and different needs lead to creativity! But "Back to the drawing board"... He might become one of the greatest free-practising inventors the world knows! :)
Load More Replies...It is expanding. I'm sure it will reach till thousands. There are so many proud parents out there. LOL
Load More Replies...It's sad to see so many little kids with their tablets and mobile phones.
It's been proven that for kids under 3-4 it's detrimental to long term memory and problem solving.
Load More Replies...All the "inventions" with mobile phones are extremely harmful for the body. Either they are too close to the eyes or in fixed positions so that limits neck movement and can cause neck strain and more serious spine problems. I think atleast TV gives some degree of mobility atleast. Parents please discourage such mobile use.
Many videos or games on cellphones are tailored to be educational and helpful for a child to grow. Please think about the mattee before you complain about it.
Load More Replies...It's rather disheartening, really, to see how many VERY young children are being robotised with electronic gadgets. I guess my favorite had to be the young lady who came up with the "book saver" so she could read in the bath.
So many of these inventions are centered upon cell phones. That disturbs me.
It's a shame that so many of these inventions involve using tablets/phones. Children shouldn't be using them, in my opinion. Mine definitely wont be. Parents think parenting is just sitting them in front of a screen, so sad.
Kids have many good ideas! Well most of them come from them being a bit lazy but adults do it too. Beer helmets and mini fridges built in the chair..
As a big reader I love the solved problem of books being dropped in the bath :D I'm 24 and I wouldn't have thought of that!
95% of these problems could be solved by using a screen that is ment for the case.
Awesome inventions? Half of these are just really lazy kids who want to watch a movie/tv with the least possible effort.
I was going to ask why some of the adults here are so quick to not only judge children, but are downright mean about it. But I figured, with me having aspergers, maybe it's just one more social norm I don't get. Frankly, it disgusts me, and if it's normal behavior, it's just one more reason I hope to never be normal.
I would like to address all the Nay Sayers. What these kids are doing may be simple but if you break it down to critical thinking skills, what these kids are doing is amazing! For their ages to come up with solutions that make there lives easier is a step in the right direction for when they are faced with more difficult challenges in the future.
