Nobody Knew How To Help This Dog Who Was Scared Of Everything, Until Her Baby Brother Arrived
Meet Weezy, the frightened doggie who would tremble at just about everything – until she met his human brother that is. No one knows exactly why the little Italian greyhound, who was dropped off at an animal shelter in Alberta, was so quaky all the time, but she seemed to be afraid of everything, from people to squeaky toys and even flies. The first people who took her from the shelter returned the pooch the next day – she looked too scared.
Then one day a woman named Sarah Mavro jumped into the car and drove two hours to get her. Turns out, Weezy’s teeth were in such bad condition, she was left only with two, as the others had to be removed – which explains her signature hanging tongue.
It took the doggie 3 years to bark for the first time – in her case, a sure sign of trust and comfort. Then along came baby Evan, and, miraculously, Weezy relaxed around him. “He is 7 months old now and she loves him even more than she loves us I think,” Mavro says. “She will climb right up beside him and let him get all over her.”

Share on FacebookI'm willing to venture a guess, that if this dog was that scared of everything, and had bad teeth, and wouldn't bark for 3 years, that she was probably abused. And I"m thankful she found a happy and loving forever home!
Right here, right now I would like to thank every human being across the world who takes in an animal to love, care and feed. On a daily basis, it is small things like this that make it a big thing. You, collectively, one by one, restore my belief in human beings.
We have a rescue that's really skittish too, it took almost a year for her to get comfortable with us. Slowly teaching her to play so she can gain some confidence. She doesn't particularly like kids or babies, but she's pretty tolerant of ours. I am always jealous of how dog like other people's dogs are and ours is more like a cat, but we love her more for it.
My service poodle is a cat in a dog suit. She took a couple of years to bark. Took 4years to "ask" to be petted. She's special but mine.
Load More Replies...OMG the story is good but, hahaha omg, the dog remembers me to Gerald from that movie where are finding a fish (No ads), the dog is cute, but also is funny seeing that tongue outta its mouth.
I relate to this story. We adopted a 10-year-old dog over a year ago. He had lived in a shelter for about 5 years, hence was afraid of being touched, even bit if we tried to pick him up. He ran away if we approached him. So far he has learnt how to eat in a bowl, sleep in a dog bed and demand for his daily walk. We can't wait for the day he comes to us and demands for cuddles/kisses/hugs :)
Human scarred him, human healed him. Ironically it took a baby to damage control after an adult.
Thank goodness for your amazing energy love and patience. Both of your babies are adorable. I have a blue grey IG with the exact same floppy tongue and one tooth. Thanks for sharing this story about love and protection and giving back. Your IG is obviously saying thank you by protecting your baby as you protected your dog.
Simply adorable,so happy she has found her own forever family and home.
Love is an energy Animals and children excellent examples of it Remember to forget the past and live in moments of joy and happiness ;)
What a beautiful story! Thank you for giving her a new home. That smile on the baby though, wow, that's a happy guy!!
Sound like the poor thing was part of a puppy mill. Thank god you saved her 💕
What a beautiful story and it yet again proves the intelligence of animals. The love between your babies is so special!
