Yeah, I try my best to buy fairtrade products, makes me feel guilty when I can't find/afford them. Horrible to know that big companies get away with this because of greed.
This is really sad, however really true... these kids are toiling to make toys for children, when they can't have those toys themselves... it makes you think
Since this picture is meant to despise likes i assume we are meant not to upvote it? ^_^
Wars, religious conflicts, sexual harrassment, starvation... but sure, our biggest problem that some idiot hunting for likes on facebook... #firstworldproblems
It's not meant to be portrayed as the biggest problem in the world. Just like drug addiction isn't the biggest problem in the world; it's a serious disease were people take enourmous personal risks to get the next fix. It's the same thing basically. Getting a like stimulates the brain in the same way as a small dose of cocain does. And from social media we have a large amount of the population already hooked on it.
Load More Replies...... So true. Glad I do not care for such things on social media. Great artworks.
People believe that likes will bring them satisfaction and happiness, however, they will only want more as time goes on.
Too many teenager are trying to get "high" off likes. But in reality, social media can destroy self esteem.
She sees one of those ancient slaves building pyramids in Egypt. ^_-

Handyman, who can change the course of mighty rivers, bend steel in his bare hands, ...
They really are the superheroes of the world. The smaller people, your electricians, your plumbers, and your handymen are the small, unrecognized Supermans and Batmans of the world.
I always see handy man's as super hero and in reality they are doing something so easy and simple, but for me would take too much tolls and know how to do it myself.
Can somebody explain this to me? I thought that man had great idea but he needed to put it on paper to clear his head. And the child was inspired so he drawn again something...
Yeah, children can't always deal with such heavy topics. This is such a difficult situation though because you can't blame anyone really. Not the parents fault for having problems and wanting to let them out. Not the childs fault for finding it and also wanting to let it out etc
I was talking to a very very dear friend of mine whose dad passed away last year, we live quite far so we meet like once in a year or less, but bond is same. Sitting on his porch, we two alone, just sharing random recent experiences, out of nowhere my friend says to me - "Listen Bud, Go back home or atleast some place near to it, i dont want to live you entire life with feeling i live today, that I wish I could have spent more time with my dad". My friend, this guy whom i always though was made of metal and breaths fire and eats iron bars - basically a super tough guy, looked completely broke, as tears swelled into his eyes, he put arm on my shoulder and pointed towards the setting sun and again said - "Go back bud, Go back towards the real sun who shown you the light of this world". I had not words to say to him which could have lessened his grief, but next day, i went to office, spoke to my boss, and now i am going back to city which has branch of our office and very near to my home.
Ladies and Gents - Your comment struck me so hard, that even i am crying. I am thousands of mile away from my dad and I so want to see him right now, your friend is right, our Dads are our Sun. Also, I am sorry for his loss.

Load More Replies...Watch the world through your own eyes. Photos tell a fake truth. "Smile!" Like you're happy... "Smile!" Like things are perfect. See each other for who we are, not who we pretend to be when the phone/camera is held up and people say "Smile!" At the concerts, at the shows, at the recitals, we sit around and hold up the cameras. We're not watching. We're not experiencing. We're living through these devices. We don't SEE the things going on around us. We don't SEE the world. We're looking at it through the pixels of the lens. It's a filtered and muted version of the beauty around us. LIVE...
No, they are not. I'm a dad, so I know what I'm talking about... I just take care of my daughter because I love her, not because I'm some kind of super man who deserves praise.
Load More Replies...Or it is the stages of father hood where sometimes dad's are affectionate, sometimes cold and tough, sometimes they aren't there and sometimes they keep you at arms length
I think this is supposed to show how there are different types of dad, the one on fire is the one who is very affectionate, the dad of stone is the one who is closed and cold towards his children l, the invisible one is the dad who isn't involved and the one with the stretchy arm is the father who keeps his kids at arms length
My dad is the semi-invisible one in my life. Obsessed with his phone, Facebook, and his Xbox, sometimes he doesn't have "the time" for me
This will probably only make sense to Israelis. It says "they say there was happiness here before I was born". This is referring to kids "disappearing" from Yemenite families and being given to Ashkenazi ones in the early 20th century.
Also maybe the stolen generation from Australia, sad to see how many countries have partaken in things like this...
Load More Replies...Here's the wiki link - so sad: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yemenite_Children_Affair
This has happened in Greece in the past, especially when twins were born. One of the twins was pronounced "dead" and was sold on.
Also this happened in Yugoslavia, and former republics of Yugoslavia too.
This happens in many countries, including the United States. Child Protective Services steals children from one family to adopt out to another. Medical Kidnapping and state-sanctioned kidnapping is big business. Also in Australia, the UK, and Canada.
This happened/happens in Greece also, in the 50's and even today
Is it because he got glasses and people now label him as a nerd and think he isn't cool? Or is it that the truth was revealed to him and he has become depressed, not wanting to have fun but instead work on either helping others, or his career for the future since that's now what he thinks life is all about. I'm kind of missing the symbolism I feel but it's still so thought-provoking.
Maybe I don't quite get the message but there's nothing bad about wearing glasses. Why does he look so pissed?
That's why I do not care about popularity, or trying to be popular. . For it doesn't matter what the world thinks of you - be you, do well at what you love and forget about trying to impress others: impress yourself. :)
Yep. But you know how it is: be mature and work hard. And not enjoy life, die anyway.
Load More Replies...So sad! If that's your marriage -get out. I realize it's symbolic and not literally violent but still.
there isnt a single marriage that will or has ever existed that is perfect. nothing should ever come to blows, but if you expect to never have an argument or disagreement then you are living a fantasy.
Load More Replies...My husband and I go through periods of arguments every few weeks--it's cyclical. But we have learned that as long as we "stay in the ring" with each other.....and apologize later....that our marriage will stay strong. Arguments often mask underlying anxieties, or even long-standing psychological issues that one or another partner has--and that have nothing to do with the marriage itself. By staying in the ring with each other, sometimes for hours, and talking through whatever got us going in the first place, we often uncover assumptions and baggage and hidden agendas, etc. It is painful to dredge it all up at times, and there is always resistance, yelling, lot's of "I don't want to talk about it", "leave me alone" etc. But with persistence, patience, strong stomachs, and commitment, and the real desire for truth--and (most importantly) LOVE WITHOUT JUDGEMENT----everything that began as an argument ends as a revelation which makes our self awareness deeper, and our relationship better.
Second to last frame: How they imagine a fight should end. Last frame: Reality. The residual anger from not being able to make real the reconciliation that they wish for.

Load More Replies...As a mother I see it in a different way- I fought my own fights and everything I learned I pass to my daughters so they can fight their own with the wisdom I am passing to them. They are young and fresh, but wise- hence the bad-a*s look in the eyes of the kid.
Load More Replies...Oh I read this totally differently. Like a struggle that kills (physically or emotionally) a parent that then has to be fought by their children.
I saw it as a child having to defend their parents' lifestyle...I have 2 sons. Their father was (now deceased) gay. As young children, they were in situations to have to explain/defend their dad having a boyfriend.
Too many men want their sons to BE them - rather than valuing and learning who their son really wants to be.
The dad is beaten and battered, taken the hits so his son can start his journey fresh faced, ready to go. The son's gloves are brand new, trunks brand new, he's ready to fight.
The father is the corner-man, in his son's corner, knowing his son has his own fight he must fight, and he is there for him as much as possible.
..only with a gun to my head can I create sappy, sugar-coated analogies of a simple, sappy, sugar-coated life.
Glad, I am not like this to my sweet husband, or that kind of person (I could never live with myself, treating someone I love like that) .. Wow. O_O
This is so beautiful. Its saying even after his death, his words carried on.
Still today. Somedays the violence tries to drown his words, but listen, they are with us still.
Load More Replies...It´s still an important thread. There was the Black Panther Party. There was Martin Luther King. There was Malcolm X . They always killed their leaders and now they are devided in Westcoast and Eastcoast and kill each other. One of the best and clearest examples of divide and conquer that we have in the near past. Sad though of course. Very sad.,
A wise mans words can carry on and reveal the truth to others, no matter how hard someone tries to silence them. That's what I got from it at least.
Martin Luther King. His words of peace and then his assassination.

I think it means that the parents are, in fact, the ones being controlled by the child's wants and needs.
I seen that to, as a mum of three, I often opt for an easy life just to stop the hassle. Wrong I know, but I'm glad it is only at times as my kids are not always brats. I have some friends who thinks the sun rises and sets out their kids asses. Kids today are shits lol

Load More Replies...Or... people are oblivious of the dangers of posting every photo of their kid online. The shark is the symbole, watching in the window.
This is why I rarely take pictures. I'd rather experience something and keep the memory instead of being left with a stack of photos.
My son was married, and their reception was on the 6th. I took all of ONE photo. The rest of the time, I spent LIVING in the now. I'll get pics that the photographer took, my memories are my son and new daughter starting their married life, and my son kissing the top of my head and telling me "I love you mom, stop crying". My response was "this is why god created waterproof mascara, I love you too baby boy".

I am a woman and I cannot understand why other women drag their boyfriends or husbands around the shops with them like this. It's really unfair. Just let your man do what he wants while you do what you want. While you're clothes or shoe shopping let him stay in a nearby pub or even go to the shops he likes. Fairs fair. Treat him the way you would want him to treat you.
I wonder if his wife really does have Surprise Smurf tattooed on her calf.
Yeah...that's me in that chair. I hate it when my wife insists I attend when she shops. If I need to stop at a hardware store, she wants to stay in the car and tells me to hurry. BTW: Women's stores don't provide enough seating.
I only own two pairs of shoes and that's all I need. Thank the gods, I am not a material whore/ gold digger. Being so wrapped up in buying something (being self-centered) while not spending quality time with what matters more than 'stuff' - the people you love.
