Real Estate Agent Posts 25 Of The Worst Home Design Finds By Her Fellow Agents
Real estate agents are the keepers of the keys - many keys. They get to see unique homes of all shapes and sizes, from modest to mansion, along with some truly interesting architectural choices and design ideas. Just like with fashion, everyone has their own idea of what works or not, and there are bound to be some design fails along the way - and real estate agents get a front-row seat to the madness.
Agent Venessa Van Winkle wanted to share just how weird and random the interior design of some houses are, so she called on her fellow home sellers to share photos with her of the bad, the ugly, and the bizarre. Scroll down below to look at these unbelievable home designs, and don't forget to upvote your fave funny pictures!

Probably no structural support behind the drywall.
Load More Replies...My OCD trigger. I'm internally screaming right now
Load More Replies...I saw the image and instantly knew everyone in the comments, mostly people without OCD, would be like 'omg my ocd can't handle this'
When you're building a house on the Sims, but the chandelier is two squares wide and the trim is only one.
My retinas are still scarred from the flower bathroom. It's a toss up...one is devastating and the other the grossest most unsanitary thing I've ever seen, and that includes the one and only time I used the bathroom at Walmart!!😳😳
Load More Replies...I can't look at this horror! If I were touring house, my eyes would stop there and all other information would be ignored!
Slightly skew whiff lol. In the name of all that’s holy WHAT was this person thinking of
When the ceiling/molding person doesn't listen to you but the electrician does. . . this is where the table fits!
"Where did you say you want the chandelier? Anyone here?! Oh well, guess I'll put it over in this spot."
The carpenter and the electrician are fighting again over who's job is most important.
This sparky who installed this should practice playing darts every night until his shot improves!
"Just a little to the left. Too much... just a nudge to the right... PERFECT. Drill the hole and let's call it a day."
If you can afford this chandelier and the room, you can afford to cover up the hole in the ceiling.
This gives me more anxiety than the "floral" bathroom and that about killed me.
Chandelier has to hang in middle of room no mater what? How about filling in the hole?
It's a one-eyed electrician's OOPs. Or else - hum - trying to think here.
They liked the rose on the ceiling, so when they lowered it, they made a cut out so they could still see it. Then they put the chandelier in. Why they did all this, rather than do it sensibly, is anyone's guess.
Oops missed the real place Gita be sovereign housing fixing these olaces
This may be one of the most bonieist of heads bonehead thing I've ever seen.
Support for the heavy chandelier can be made. Probably a home or super cheap job.
I'm guessing the chandelier is frigging heavy and that's where the beam is. but in cases like this you can't always have what you want. no chandelier for you dear.
My daddy used to say that "almost" only counts in hand grenades and horseshoes!😉🙃🤣
Load More Replies...This is an art piece done by Makoto Egashira. She uses floral carpet to make sculptures, her work is amazing. Please check out her art, support the artist instead of just believing the photo.
What are you complaining about? the toilet makes a good "folding seat" when you have guest
This actually looks like a good idea. It removes that little line of light the peaks through the curtains.
Those prints were very popular in the 80-ties (well at least in my country). Had a similar design for wall paper in my teeny-weeny room back then!
The big question is, do the agents ever manage to sell/rent these places?
At HUGE discounts.
Downvoted? Why? Someone can't face facts? The FACT is that I've bought and sold several houses. I wouldn't go near most of these with a barge pole because they'd all cost a minimum of $50.000.00 to$100,000.00 to rip out all the garbage in the interiors. Plus, anyone who deliberately screws up their interior i KNOW isn't taking care of the rest of the house.

THAT FAGGOT NOTSOSWIFT IS USING ALT ACCOUNTS TO DOWNVOTE YOU
Sure. I rented a place with a weirdly built carpeted bathroom for a while... It also had cabinets installed at a height that meant you couldn't put a tall pot or a toaster on the kitchen counter... The place kindof sucked, but it was cheap and I was broke...
Maybe sold them to the same who were selling the others...
If in USA I'm sure some "fixer upper" fool will purchase ;)
Idk if deciding to take on a home project to make your own makes you a fool. Nothing wrong with fixing up a house, especially because even most people would put their own personal touch into a "normal" home upon buying. Isn't every house a fixer-upper in that case?
I think that life is nothing without values and money is very obviously nothing without education. These rooms remind me of mr Trump and retired porn producers tho Lol
Aren't those the same thing?
OOOOOOOOOOOOH *screams "BUUURN"
Damn trumps gonna need to to put some cold water on that burn
Trump may be garish, but he doesn't put sinks and toilets in dining rooms, a 4-poster around a bathtub, 2 toilets catty-corner for ease of conversation, a jacuzzi in the kitchen, a bathtub at the top of a flight of steep stairs with no railing between tub and stairs, or a toilet at the end of a tunnel so small that many people might not be able to turn around to sit down. Can you imagine needing to back into that room to take a poop?
Whine whine whine Trump whine whine Trump whine.............
He would do all of those things in a cold minute for his tenants if it would save him a nickel. Your nose is looking pretty brown there.
I can imagine him having a gold toilet, since he does fake gold on almost everything else, which is pretty fucking garish.
How do you know all this?
Sure... and with a name like yours, you're of course a Rhoades scholar, right??
Yup!
do you ever get tired of being so bitter and angry about losing an election? Trump has done nothing to you to give you a reason to be so nasty. I feel sorry for you, it must be hell being mad all the time.
I'm comforted that I'm not the only person whose seen these mental homes! When my hubby and I were looking for our first home to rent, we came across the flat that we'd come to call the 'pimp's palace'. It was dated af, with a carpeted bathroom and a tacky 70s bar in the living room but the layout was weird as we became more and more aware that we were walking around a hidden room in the centre of the flat, as we went from room to room which were all interconnected in a circle. We asked the estate agent what was in the middle and she sighed as she opened a hidden door. There was an actual fucking sauna, all tiled floor to ceiling, with benches and the thing you put the coals in, in the centre of a one bed flat. We could not get out of there quick enough!
Just realize, that at some point these people thought this was a great idea.
So, I'm old. I have to go to the bathroom at least once during the night. You would find me dead on the floor if I lived in one of those houses where you have to walk up a few steps to pee.
Oooo I used to go on some website/blog/I don't even know anymore that was basically this. It was hilarious and I forgot about it til now. Too bad I can't remember what it was
I can't remember the name, either, but I do remember that blog. It was (hideously) awesome.
Hideous!!! That toilet only for skinny people, and that bathroom design are they expected once you in the house you take a bath right away lol And the bed so close to the bathtub you know once you demolition that house, all the mold growing in flooded or damp spot can cause your health issues. Wtf they were thinking.
This is the Sims starter pack.
my rectangle house in sims dont look that bad anymore
Imagine how hard it must be for the real estate agents to sell these homes! These agents have my respect! Haha. :)
I'd like to know what country they're in !!!
Our house could have been featured here. It had a “death window” (a giant window set too low in a bedroom with no glass that looked down into the vaulted kitchen). We ended up hiring people to drywall over the Death Window. Lol.
Most colourful and creative places can be toned down with a coat of boring paint. People who leave these places behind will make the next space their own. Interior decorators NEVER put the owner's history or personality into a space, only cold pieces from current trends.
yes, they tell you to only paint your walls neutral 'safe' colors...I'd live in an apartment if I wanted generic. I have each bedroom painted in a jewel tone pastel, light green, sky blue, lavender and my kitchen and baths are in a beautiful French vanilla semi gloss that looks like pearl.

You're right, and OMG, so much why? over there :)
What do I think? I think that humanity needs to be destroyed we've passed the brink of redemption.
Nope, nope. First you need to find the origin of some of these atrocious designs & do some targeted elimination ;-) The entire world doesn't need to suffer due to, for what it seems a large part coming from 1 particular western civilization. Ah wait...... that is a possible result that could happening right now :-/ ;-)
I m real state agent, but in Brazil and I already see nonsense pleaces. www.cassialima.com
These are crazy!!!
I have been an interior designer working in other people's homes since 1976. never have seen anything as awful as this stuff. the worst was some red water spigots holding a valance in the kitchen.
I think I saw some of these on the Terrible Real Estate Photos website.
To each, his own. Everyone has their idea of "decor". I assume these places were all decorated by their current owner(s) whose taste may or may not be to everyone's liking. Seriously, though, if you want to get a decent asking price for your home, make it neutral. Remind yourself that not everybody wants to walk into a bathroom of old country roses; not everyone wants a jacuzzi 6" from the bed. Best to paint walls neutral beiges and let the new owners put their own stamp on the decor. As for that jail cell toilet, get it removed and turn that into a pantry.
My brain hurts.
Thinking of performing home improvements or a remodel without professional guidance nor advice? You might as well set fire to several thousand dollars. That would be less expensive in the long term.
Seems like most are reused materials to make a horrible decision
And I thought it was bad to put the kitchen (and living room and dining room) upstairs in a house with no AC. You go through the front door and you face a winding stairway. Gotta carry all groceries, etc. up said winding staircase. And try to get appliance up there when they need replaced. Or go up the outside stairs in rain + snow and through upstairs porch door. God-awful hot in summer anyway, and even more so during meal prep. The countertop halogen oven does help a little.
The real question is, will you credit @pleasehatethesethings from Instagram?
More privileged first world white people problems
If it's got good "bones" as they say and is super cheap, they can be fixed and made into nice homes
