However, in some cases, we experience a more severe kind of infuriation that is beyond mild. You can blame anything from a car that won’t start, annoying flight passengers sitting right next to you, a surprise call from tax inspection, a morning that started on the wrong foot, or yourself, it doesn’t change anything.

But seriously, most western countries had some kind of wage replacement during the pandemic. But why is it always the landlord's responsibility and not the individuals ? A lot of small landlords lost their life savings, and in some cases went bankrupt, because renters just decided not to pay their rent. The landlords didn't cause the pandemic either.
Whenever I get a jerk landlord I make sure to mail my check on the 5th of each month. Federal law prohibits charging late fees if the rent is turned in on the 5th but due on the 1st. It is also one of the few monthly payments that is required to honor the postmark instead of the receipt date
I wonder if the landlord uses the rent money to pay the mortgage? If so, he'll lose the property if he can't pay, so the tenant will still be out. I guess liberals assume that all landlords are independently wealthy. How naïve.

How entitled must you be to expect the agreed payment for the roof over your head to be waived just because you lost your job? Landlords are reliant on income too, and if you don't pay they will have to evict you and sell because they can't afford the mortgage, leaving you with nowhere to live anyway.
Easy to say when you are immune to being laid off because your job involves just taking other people's money, whose employers were often closed by the government leaving you no choice. Yeah go find a job in a place that has now 75% of all businesses not allowed to be open. I would have had this guy mass-mailed flame letters.

The problem is while tenants were told they can't be evicted for not paying rent, the banks didn't stop interest , late payments or credit reporting for the landlords loans. If you're going to exempt one group, the you have to exempt the other. But the government never sees the whole picture.

My landlord raised the rent by nearly $100/mo during the lockdown, then after about six months of us not complaining and making our rents on time (as we have always done for years) they decided to not renew our lease, during the pandemic (I'm immunosuppressed and a cancer patient) before any vaccines were available, giving us thirty days to live pack our entire lives and to find a new place to live. It it didn't go well. I'll leave it at that.

I HATE that flowers by the thousands are sent to the royal funerals. If people REALLY loved Diana and The Queen, money should be sent to their favorite charities. Flowers end up in the garbage. People need help every day. Money should be sent to ANY charity. And the royals take care of themselves.
The flowers ended up as composting so no wastage there. Also flowers are seen as a mark of respect at funerals. Also, it's work for florists and plant sellers after a very difficult couple of years.
