When it comes to products that we use in our daily lives, would you ever think that gender played a role in the way we use them? Interestingly enough, it does, and the problem is that we aren’t thinking enough about gender when we design products. From PPE kits to button-down shirts, women all over the world are struggling to use things that have been predominantly designed for men.
Of course, all of this might seem oversimplistic, but there’s a popular phrase used in the product creation world called ‘Shrink it and pink it’ that shows otherwise. It’s commonly used when designing products for women. What it means is that women often receive scaled-down and pink-colored versions of things that were actually designed for men.
It might not seem like a big issue at first. But that’s exactly why someone online asked people to share examples of products designed for women that were clearly created by men. Netizens didn’t hesitate to fill the thread with answers and share their relevant experiences. Your mind might change once you’ve seen this list!

Abortion laws
It often seems like the people who push for anti-abortion laws are the same ones who complain about the drain on social systems caused by unwanted children.
They also never want to step up to take care of the unwanted kids that were forced into the world.
Load More Replies...@Ken Beattie: what is your opinion on the mass shootings in the US, especially in schools? Maybe you can explain the parents from the Sandy Hook school that weapons are regulated in the US? Some data from Axios.com: "There were 656 mass shootings in 2023.That's up from 647 mass shootings in 2022 but down from a record 689 in 2021, data from the research group shows. 2023 saw an 8-10% overall decrease in deaths and injuries from gun violence, per GVA. There were 42,987 gun violence deaths last year."
Load More Replies...Despite being pro-choice, I might understand the anti-abortion fanatics if they actually were all about the "sacred" children, but they've proven time and time again that children, once born are not significant. Proof: systemic dismantling of educational and health benefits, children going hungry and homeless, and let's not forget the mass killings where they've shown that gun-ownership trumps children's lives or the quality of life for the survivors. Anti-abortion fanatics lack empathy and logic.
That was a not a law, that was a lawsuit where the courts used a 19th century law that defined a baby at any stage of pregnancy to be protected to include embryos as well. Understand the difference between laws being passed and a court interpreting a contemporary case using a 19th century law that only got re-activated due to Roe being overturned.
Load More Replies...Just shakes my head! Totally moving backwards here. Not just here but almost everywhere. I'm not political much but it is getting ri damn diculous how backwards we are moving. Me thinks it's time to bring back public protesting again!!!
My friend's grandma actually wrote a poem very similar to the sign on the left says, it's called "if my vagina was a gun" or something like that. I really love it :)
Pregnant people and those who already had kids are easier to control, so of course cis hetero males oppose abortion and birth control. But it's even worse in yankland now because whites KNOW they are becoming the minority in 20 years, that non-whites will outnumber them. Unless they legalize r@pe culture and force white women to have kids, white supremacy comes to an end.
Hmmmm...can't become a minority - t's almost like they know that minorities are actually discriminated against.
Load More Replies...Everyone always seems confused by Republicans stance on abortion, and their steady refusal to offer government funded social services. Who offered charity before the US government started welfare programs? The Church. Republicans fully intend to make families dependent on the church for survival. Then the churches have more control over people's lives and behavior. Republicans hate government programs for the poor because it allows Americans to tell the church to go F itself. Everything Republicans do is a plot to create more brainwashed citizens.
The interesting part is, that government programs actually allow a lot of freedom of choice, whereas a church/religion ruled society is full of rules and punish severely any free thinking.
Load More Replies...And the Alabama "embryo is a person" laws have resulted in IVF in that state being halted. Because of the risk of lawsuits and criminal charges, IVF clinics are refusing to make, test viability of, or implant embryos. Infertile people who have embryos stored in Alabama now can't use them to concieve resulting in the embryos being left frozen, even though the parents want children. Dumbassed in the extreme.
Someone PLEASE put more belt loops on my work pants!
Oh, and NORMAL pockets, please and thankyou
I'll say it again for the cheap seats in the back. "POCKETS!"
Load More Replies...It's not just pockets, it's fabrics. I've heard many women say how everything is polyester and rayon, instead of the cottons and linens in men's clothes. This is probably why women are cold all the time, the clothes they are sold do nothing to keep them warm.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think these past few years, we men have been getting fewer belt loops too. I've never actually counted but things ain't sitting right these days (and no, my body shape hasn't changed).
Women have been asking for reasonable pockets for years. Why is this still an issue?
Because designs just want clothes to look great, and pockets make clothes hang differently or look too bulky, they don't care about what women actually want.
Load More Replies...The belt loops thing applies to menswear too! I consider 7 to be the absolute minimum acceptable number of belt loops. Any less than that and they're decorative.
No, you don't understand. If women are given big pockets the purse/handbag industry would go belly up. Think of the poor CEOs, please.
I buy men's pants for pockets. They are cheaper and usually fit my shape better
This issue seems to pop up here pretty often, and I'm sure it's frustrating, but I can assure you that there is no secret male conspiracy to not let women's clothing have pockets for some unknown reason. If enough women actually bought pants with large functional pockets you'd better believe someone would be happy to make and sell them.
One problem is that there are women who hate having pockets. They may just keep silent here.
Load More Replies...I've said this on other posts, but check ranch supply stores, at least where I live, they have a pretty decent selection of jeans made for work (which includes real pockets.)
Most women's shoes are shaped to be long, thin and pointy.
My feet are not long, thin and pointy, **they are** **foot-shaped**, and shoe shopping is a*s.
I used to work at a Payless. I have seen way too many old women whose toes were, like, broken and re-set to fit the pointy shoes or something. It was horrifying to see. So yes, basically.
Load More Replies...It's not just the shoes pictured. I remember a post somewhere that a woman bought hiking boots and they fell apart, they were junk made for fashion, not hiking. The company's attitude was "but they're a cute style...". She ended up buying teen male boots to get something usable.
I had to buy men's steel toed work boots because the women's steel toes boots started to fall apart after 2 months-and they were made by the same company.
Load More Replies...My feet are shaped like monster munch and it's so hard to find a decent shoe that also looks nice
I take my daughter and I to Canadian Footwear now, despite how expensive it is, just so we can get properly fitted and find shoes for a women's wide feet. My daughter was blowing out shoes, having to compensate with a size 2 sizes too large just to get the room she needs. She doesn't even wear fancy dress shoes. Just runners and snow boots. I also learned I have wide feet, not narrow like I thought I did. I thought it was normal my pinky toes tucked slightly under my other toes.
Perhaps more women should stop spending their below-average salaries on painful footwear instead of believing the hype around them. Wanna change the system? Supply and demand will effect their profits to the extent that they will listen.
Such shoes should only be worn to kick the shins of those who designed them.
In this list, curated for you by Bored Panda, there are specific examples of things that men designed that are often impractical for women. Since women are left with no choice but to use these inventions, it begs the question, why don’t more women start designing things? That’s because product design is still a man’s world. Approximately only 9.1% of product designers are women.
With such a small sample to provide input, it’s no wonder that men are providing the dominating input during the design process. At the start of most design courses, students are taught about something called Universal Design. According to the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design, “Universal Design (UD) is the design and composition of an environment so that it can be accessed, understood and used to the greatest extent possible by all people regardless of their age, size, ability or disability. An environment (or any building, product, or service in that environment) should be designed to meet the needs of all people who wish to use it.” So why is it that women are still left out?
Every single gyno procedure and lack of pain meds given for it
Try a breast punch biopsy sans pain meds, black and blue and could not use my arm on that side for months coupled with difficulty sleeping from pain. Physician who I saw for second opinion said the procedure is like being in a car accident and hitting the steering wheel. Manual biopsy is not without pain but is better and done by a surgeon who you get to meet not a radiologist who you don't until before the procedure. Wish I would have known and trying to provide said knowledge to others
I had a copoloscopy. It's a biopsy of the cervix. So I'm in the stirrups, doctor has a long-handled scalpel. The pain was next level. I cried. The doctor shouted at me for "being dramatic."
Load More Replies...I was in excruciating pain to begin with, but the doctor pressing on my abdomen made it worse. When I involuntarily yelped with pain, he told me to stop being a baby. My anger overrode my pain. I grabbed his tie, yanked his face down into mine, and thru gritted teeth told him he had mere seconds before I beat the sh!t out of him. He left the exam room. I found another doctor. Never allow a doctor to belittle you for any reason.
I loved your story. I'm sure many of us have fantasized about doing this to an uncaring arrogant doctor.
Load More Replies...I know that the speculum is a good tool and does exactly what it's supposed to do but how on EARTH have we made it to 2024 without improving upon it and the procedure associated with it???
I've donated eggs a few times. The first time the gyn was a man, and insisted on doing tge extraction without a local anesthetic because "it's just one extra needle in there". I cried throughout the very painful procedure. The following times I had a female doctor and got the anesthetic and the male doctor should go get a colonoscopy without an anesthetic to test his "it's just one extra needle" theory. Didn't even feel the anesthetic needle, but the extraction was a lot less painful.
“Its doesnt hurt” “its just a little pinch” “its just a little discomfort” Right, thats why i almost fell off the examination table….
Had a uterine biopsy that almost caused me to pass out and scream. I was told some people do but I didn't know screaming in a doctor's office was a thing so I held it in. Absolutely horrible pain.
Never hold it in! I'm disabled so lots of Dr visits. My care got so much better once I stopped holding it in and also started to bring backup. It's amazing the difference in care
Load More Replies...Cervical biopsy. "Just a pinch" "tale some Tylenol." I get there and the gyno says, "now here is the part where it feels like I am pulling your insides out." Hon, why didn't you 1) tell me that ahead of time and 2) anesthetic?!
I think I would have replied," and here's the part where I walk out the door"
Load More Replies...I've had an IUD placed a total of 4 times. My last one was done by my GP and she brought a student in... took twice as long with all the explanations and - I swear - that doctor "sounded" (or poked the back end of my uterus with a probe to determine the depth) for like 5 minutes. Read the note after and it said "tolerated well." Ha! It took me 3 minutes to even stand up and I nearly fainted on the way to my car. NEVER having a GP place one again... placement is bad enough when it's done by gynecologists who do them every day.
Button down shirts that don't account for breasts and if you CAN button it all the way up you have these huge gaps and stretching between the buttons.
Also, I don't think some designers make clothes keeping in mind that 'oh yeah, they wear bras'.
Not trying to take anything away from women, but I have the same problem as a man with some shirts. I feel like designers don't actually try wearing the clothes they design and that's a real problem. If they did they'd notice stuff like this. And further, they should be looking into testing with people of different body shapes and sizes, not just whacking it on a mannequin and saying "it looks fine".
I haven't worn a blouse since I was in 8th grade. They are never comfortable in the bust or through the back. I also quit buying women's tees, they are too tailored. I buy men's large and shrink in the dryer. They come out perfect for me except in the length. I cut the length a little and just let them naturally curl up.
Tim Hortons used to make female employees wear these types of blouse shirts, while giving the males casual tees with 3 or 4 top buttons. I asked for those but got denied because I'm not male. The blouse shirts always came undone at the breast area. Some of us larger gals would have to use safety pins. I tried a larger size but it was way too baggy, creating safety hazards with the sleeves catching on stuff.
Dude i can’t even wear clothes, I’m short, fat, and busty, i have 0 options
My biggest gripe with button down shirts/blouses is the manufacturer using vertical slots instead of horizontal. Buttons pop out of vertical slots, not horizontal ones.
Ok, this is niche, but I hate it whenever I go to sit at a bar and there are no hooks under the bar. Double points if the stools don't have a back where I can loop my purse/coat over the seat back, and I am stuck piling my purse and/or coat in my lap. Same for public restrooms - pleaseee put a hook on the door so I'm not precariously balancing my purse on my lap or worse on the floor.
And those horridly-designed chairs that repel coats you try to put on them so they always end up on the floor.
Ya gotta be careful with the bathroom door hooks too, Ive heard stories of people just reaching over and stealing your bag. So, maybe hooks low on the bathroom door lol
I'd think having a bag hung over the back of a chair would be a risk too. Either the whole bag being stolen or someone lifting the purse/phone/whatever from it.
Load More Replies...I always seem to find a hook in the stalls, but when it comes to the sink area there's usually no hook to put your stuff to wash your hands. The counters are often soaking wet and no paper towels available to wipe the counter down. As for the bar and dining area, if I can get a both or a table with an extra chair that usually works, or I put my purse around me. I don't think I could trust my purse and wallet is safe if I have it out of sight and out of my hands.
Has this person not heard of purse hooks? You can buy them everywhere, they're usually about 10 bucks at least two, and they easily fold up in your purse when you don't need them. I have a massive fluffy chicken purse and that baby never sits on some filthy floor, thank you very much!
I once bought one of these (which was the only time I've seen them for under $30), and it was very convenient for the three months or so that it lasted. Haven't bothered to look for a new one
Load More Replies...Women are 73% likelier to be injured during a car crash compared to a man. You might be shocked to know that this is also because of poor product design and testing. It’s because male dummies are predominantly used as the “victims” during car crash tests. Yes, female dummies exist, but again, they are just scaled-down versions of the male dummies. They don’t represent the bodily differences that women have, such as broader hips or wider pelvises.
Most car crash innovations aren’t safe for women. Like the design for airbags, which isn’t that safe for smaller women and children. This isn’t to say that these inventions shouldn’t exist. Instead, what it means is that more women should be included when these products are being designed and tested. Let’s take a look at some other instances of things that just weren’t designed for women.
Car seat belts. Mine slips up all the time, and I have it on the lowest setting. I am 5'4" tall. So uncomfortable.
Medicines, seatbelts, airbags…..none of these were made for women. Medical trials didn’t have to include women till the 70s
And they're still finding differences between men and women and how they're affected by medicines, how women tend to wake during surgeries, and numerous other differences. We need more young women going into STEM. Men have proven for centuries that they're not up to the task.
Load More Replies...Yes. I'm 5'3" and the shoulder belt constantly digs into the left side of my neck while simultaneously smooshing my right boob. It's at the lowest setting also.
I wish there was a way to make the belt sit between my (I presume the word will be censored) b.r.e.a.s.t.s. I hate it sliding over one breast and I'm continually adjusting it back to the middle again.
So completely logical, how could that have been missed (or ignored)?
Load More Replies...I'm 5 foot tall. For years I simply slipped the chest belt behind me because it crossed directly across my throat. If I were in an accident, I'd be strangled! My husband got me a seatbelt extender. Meant for larger people to give extra room across the lap. That 6 inch extender moved the chest belt to across my shoulders where it belonged!
I've wondered about trying that. I have one of those clips that you can attach onto the lap part and then slip the shoulder part into at a suitable point, but it then sits oddly because it's at a peculiar angle to itself. The extender seems more logical, but I haven't been brave enough to try it yet.
Load More Replies...I was told it should rest on my lap. They never sit across my lap. No driver has ever bothered to allow me the time to make sure my seatbelt is on properly. It would take several seconds and possibly a car manual check to know how to adjust it. You're not allowed to put the shoulder strap under your arm, nor under your breasts. I hate the feeling of the belt going across my nipples. If you know you know.
The idea that it's supposed to sit across the top of your lap and like lay flat there is baffling to me since it never does even on most crash test dummies. Yet they still insist on keeping that language in the manuals. Also, why the f don't we have adjustable top and bottom seatbelts, especially in the back? The back is meant for children but is only made for an adult male. Ridiculous.
Load More Replies...My seatbelt used to choke me but I bought a few Seat Belt Cover Pad and they work. I bring one on vacation too when we rent a car. Mine had Velcro but my hair used to stick in there so I took it off and put snaps instead. The one I have at home has a skirt safety pin because I switch it a lot between the two seats.
Razors. I just buy the regular man-version if I wanna use a razor...
Pink pricing. Women's items (especially toiletries) are pretty always more expensive than men's.
And you hear people telling us "why do you spend so much on those products? They're not that expensive, you don't need the fancy luxury stuff!"
Load More Replies...I buy men's razors and deoderant now as well. Better quality and cheaper
I also use men's razors and deodorant. Much better to use.
Load More Replies...Not only is the "Pink Tax" wrong, women's razors are often totally useless - clearly far more effort is put into the aesthetics of them than the actual functionality (like most products made "for Women". I buy the "men's" ones
Yes, whenever I use the women's razors I get cuts and they don't seem to work as well, whereas I never have that problem with the men's ones, they seem to have put more effort into the design.
Load More Replies...I highly recommend Harry's. They are not cheap disposables that add to our overburdened landfills, the blades are precision German engineering, and the handle is beautifully balanced.
It's not just pink and expensive- man's blades are further apart. You can see light through them and- get this- *rinse the hairs out.* No clogged razor. It's insane... I have no idea why they do this.
I haven't noticed pink pricing in any of the stores in my city. If anything the men's razors are the most expensive. HOWEVER, they do get more in the packages. Either way, the razors are often locked up and it takes forever to find an employee.
A few years ago, some young, poorly informed gentleman thought "mens" razors would peel a woman's skin right off...
I don't get why women complain about this - mostly they're exactly the same except the colour, and it's by no means always the case that the female version is more expensive, quite often the reverse. I use a type that comes in M/F colours and just buy whichever pack size give the best value at any given time.
Well done you. Except those price differences are not just applicable to razors. Pink tax is real.

All obgyn vaginal procedures. BARBARIC.
This is why I never use a male OB/GYN. They can't relate, just like I can't relate to catching a w***y in a zipper.
I never had a gyno listen to me until I switched to a male doctor. Years of asking for a procedure to lighten my heavy periods (I would pass out on my period) to be told by my female doctors that this is just life for women. On my very first visit with my new doctor, he was absolutely horrified and actually listened to me. There are good doctors and there are bad doctors, but in my experience women were less understanding about period related issues

Although I do agree with the first part, I'm unclear what you think about anesthesia for dental cleanings.

As of 2018, 60% of gynecologists are women. But they graduate from the same med schools as men where systemic bias prevails. Those biases affect women, POC patients, and non-conforming genders, to name a few. Why your comment was downvoted is inexplicable.
Load More Replies...I want to say the ultrasound procedures are not bothersome, but then I recall you're supposed to come with a full bladder, while pregnant and lay there while someone presses a wand around your pelvis. I had to get special permission to go to the washroom in the middle of my appointment because my bladder was hurting to the point I couldn't hold it anymore and I was feeling nauseated. Even then, she told me not to pee it all out. C'mon. You shouldn't need a full bladder to see a baby in the uterus.
… I was never told I needed a full bladder. In fact they frequently offered to the use of the bathroom before the ultrasound. And we have plenty of creepy fetus pictures so clearly the pee can’t be *that* necessary 🤨
Load More Replies...Actually, my, now retired, make dr was far more gentle than any female. I assumed it was because he didn't know how it would feel.
Wrong again. Per the NIH, a painless breast ultrasound is more accurate than a painful mammogram, but the male-run health insurance companies won't pay for them.
Load More Replies...Not barbaric to look after your health, it's the procedures themselves. Anyone who's had a pap or a mammogram or a biopsy knows the pain of which we speak.
Load More Replies...Product design that doesn’t take into account women’s bodies isn’t just odd, it’s also dangerous. In the military, females have a 2.22 times higher risk of pelvic ring fractures than males. This is because of a number of factors ranging from the design of their military boots to even their backpacks.
When women use products that were designed as an afterthought, it can affect their safety. These real-life examples show that it isn’t just a matter of style or preference. Does it really make sense that half of the population is excluded in favor of a one-size-fits-all approach to product design?
Women's power tools. They are just a pink version of the men's tools, or they are just a less powerful version.
No redesign of the weight, shape, or grip size to make them easier to hold for our body shapes, just a pink tax.
Power tools neither have or need gender. If they could be redesigned to make them lighter or more ergonomic, that would benefit everyone.
There is a need for power tools that can be used by people with small hands.
Load More Replies...I hate to derail, but left handed people get this. You end up using dangerous tools with no accomodations made for you.
I've seen them but it seems like they are only sold as a novelty item, not common in the tool section as a whole.
Load More Replies...Don't hate me but I like pink tools. :) I like pink everything, so it's not just limited to tools. What I don't like is that they cost extra. It should just be a color choice like everything else that has multiple options.
Yeah, this and phones. They’re getting bigger! I have the smallest size and my hand cramps!
There is a patent for labia glue that dissolves when you pee on it do use while on your period to hold the blood in. A male chiropractor invented and tried to sell it. So that.
I do like the idea of not using a pad or tampon. I do not like the idea of gluing my vagina! Also, this is a thing! Wtf?
What the heck?? I am starting to think all period products - in any form - should only be researched and designed by women.
Tampons originally had another purpose and where usually used by men.
Load More Replies...I feel like people who don’t have to deal with periods should stop making period products.
No they don't, men who actually have a brain (as opposed to this chiropractor guy) can do good research to avoid making mistakes. Like interviewing lots of women beforehand to know what women actually need, and also letting lots of women give feedback at many stages of the development of the product. If a man does that, and is good at asking questions and at listening, there is no reason he couldn't make great period products.
Load More Replies...Wow, that goes well past the "learn to hold your bladder" level of cluelessness.
When you get a needle biopsy, you have to lie on a cold formica table with a sharp edged hole w yr breast dangling through it. The first time I had to do this, we (me, women docs and nurses) all commented on the terrible design of the thing.
When I has another needle biopsy a few years later, the table had been redesigned. It was now pink. ❤️

Load More Replies...Ye gods! I had breast biopsies and cancer surgery last year and, thankfully, didn't have this procedure!
re mammograms. Getting your boobs painfully squished is uncomfortable enough but why is the machine always just that fraction too high or low that I end up with back ache...and that's after the nurse has contorted my body into the 'right' position which makes me feels like a real life model for Picasso's cubist paintings.
Another minor instance that can have a huge impact is the design of personal protective equipment (PPE) in healthcare. The Women in Global Health survey found that only 14% of women wore PPE that was well-fitted. The problem with male-oriented PPE is that poorly fitting masks, goggles, or gowns can expose women to viruses or infections.
These items also don’t take into account different body types or face shapes. Although the concept of being “gender blind” might seem like a great idea, it doesn’t benefit women when it comes to designing useful products.
Wasn’t there some guys on shark tank or something like it that made gloves for women to use to change their menstrual products? They were single use and pink or something?
Yes I remember that: https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/pinky-gloves-tampon-disposal-apology_uk_60780bc6e4b020e576c13a33 We are still laughing.
Why on earth would we need gloves to change our tampons? Are we afraid to touch our own bodies, and our own blood now?
I think I remember it turned out the inventor (guy) had been freaked out seeing used products in the bin, which led to this glorious idea... 🙄
Load More Replies...This is so stupid it sounds like a joke. It's like men are so ignorant about and/or horrified by women's bodies, they even feel vicarious disgust about things that happen in private.
Men can be such wimps. Just because y'all are grossed out by mensuration, doesn't mean women are.
To be fair: there are moments where I kinda feel like using a glove for it. Sometimes when I have heavy flow and I wore a pad before and then put in a tampon, my fingers are covered in so much blood, which is really annoying because it gets in those ridges on the sides of my finger nails (where the nail and skin meet) and stays quite visible there unless I wash my hands really vigorously.
If that's the problem, a disposable glove, then soap and water work just fine and undoubtedly costs much less
Load More Replies...well i can imagine it is helpfull if you are not able to wash your hands (my mom has saying that is better put dirty hand to your mouth than down there) and/or nothing to wrap the tampon so you use the glove and turn it inside out with tampon in...so you don't have to put it anywhere just like that...maybe in nature when you don't want to just throw it away so you have to carry it in your backpack...
To be fair, the intention wasn't that we should find our bodies gross. It was meant to be used e.g. at festivals, when there is no possibility to wash your hands before and afterwards. In Germany, where this product was designed, we don't use applicators much, so when we insert tampons, we use our fingers and if you can't wash your hands before doing that, you might get an infection.
But can’t you just use regular disposable latex gloves for that? You can get a box of 50 for a few dollars and then just carry some in a ziplock bag. I just truly don’t understand the need for this product. Disposable gloves already exist! Is the “innovation” that they’re pink?

Toilet cubicles - never enough room for sanitary bins
Not enough room to get in and turn around wearing a skirt/dress without it dragging the top of the toilet.
Or with a small child and diaper bag. I've gotten dirty looks for using the handicap stall at places with no family restroom, but that's the only one where my toddler isn't in my lap on top of the diaper bag while I'm peeing half the time!!!

Because that would be *sensible*, and we can't have that...
Load More Replies...BTW architects, when you're laying out the restrooms, remember that women don't stand up to pee. We have to spread our legs to wipe, attend to feminine issues, etc. The longer a woman's legs are, the less ability she has to attend to basic hygiene practices in a toilet cubicle.
They are worse in the winter when you're overloaded with clothing impeding movement in such tight confines. I'd rather one less toilet stall to increase the size to accommodate all the cr*p we're carrying.
My school has a "menstrual product dispenser " but it never has anything in it and we also have the bins but they get cleaned once a month. There are only two bathrooms in my school and 900 students.
Every public toilet I've used in Australia has a sanitary bin in every stall (I think it's the law) and they are never too crowded for them.
Every public toilet has bins. At least every one I‘ve ever been to. Maybe it‘s different in different countries?
It was implying there wasn't enough room in the cubicles for the bins, not that there are no bins in the cubicle.

I'm not sure why someone would complain about small purses. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of different shapes, sizes, and colors out there. Don't tell me you can't find a fit.
I have stopped on a famous purse branfs store everytime i ho to the city. All the purses are either tote bags or teeny tiny things that my phone doesnt got. When i piont to my bag ( whoch i love bit is wearing out ) they tell me " that style os no longer in fashion"

I have never understood a clutch bag that demands you hold it and still can’t use your hands
To be fair, I'm not really sure how you can design a restraint system for a car that won't squash a woman's breasts. You want the sash across the chest to stop the upper body from being thrown forward. You can really put a horizontal one across the chest above the breast line because that's asking to snap the neck in an accident. So you start getting to some sort of racing harness. That might be ok for racing, but seems intrusive when getting in and out of a normal car.

I live in Japan and am 5’10, so I usually buy men’s pants at western shops. The other day I bought a pair of pants and the pockets are soooooo DEEP,! Like almost to my knees deep, I LOVE them.
Fair question. Both ways like we have now save lives. I remember when they introduced the first belt; it was just across the waist and still an option. I had just cracked my breastbone in a motorcycle accident so I sat in the middle rear and took both belts to hold me tight. There was none in the middle.

Lastly, here’s one example that might shock you! Female firefighters have a four times greater rate of injury than male firefighters. Now, you might be wondering how product design fits into this. One of the reasons for this alarming statistic is their ill-fitting protective equipment. Equipment that isn’t designed for their bodies can expose them to toxic chemicals and even liquid, chemical, or heat exposure.
So this brings us back to the question of the lack of women in product design. There are many challenges that can limit workplace entrance and performance, which add another layer of complexity to why women don’t move ahead in this field. It’s important, therefore, to provide more encouragement for women to become designers and pursue careers that are still considered “male-dominated.”
Anything that is just a pink or purple variation of the men’s version.
Yes. A product produced in smaller quantities due to minor cosmetic changes will absolutely cost more. When there are 100,000 "men's" versions produced and only 10,000 "women's" versions that are identical except for the color, it actually costs more per unit to produce the "women's" version. It has nothing to do with women and everything to do with manufacturing processes.
Load More Replies...I sometimes like the pink or purple, as long as they cost the same I don't care
so don't buy it. that's like saying brand name is more expensive then store brand, but has the same ingredients. just stop buying anything that's pink and just buy the cheaper of the 2... do you really care what colour it is?
PPE. Unisex fit my a*s😂
Which particular PPE are we talking about here? Because there are a ton of different items and I'm sure some genuinely are unisex.

yeah this stuff is made for people without bones so Im gonna say this is just bad design rather than a pink tax.
Maternity leave.
I’m in the US where you’re lucky to have it and even if you do there are often ridiculous stipulations like, leave starting only when you go into labor.
There’s no way a system where the expectation is that 100% of women will be able to work until a baby literally begins to fall out of them was designed by a woman.
It's the labor/employment system in the US. We would rather die at our work stations or at the door of the ER than accept anything that looks like socialism in these arenas.
Load More Replies...In France the standard maternity leave is 6 weeks before due date, 10 weeks after, and it can be extended for various reasons. You can opt to leave work later and have more time after, but 4 weeks before due date is the limit.
Source Canada.ca: You can start receiving maternity benefits as early as 12 weeks before your due date or the date you give birth. You can't receive these benefits more than 17 weeks after your due date or the date you gave birth, whichever is later. Dec 29, 2023
I thought it was a year of maternity leave. Unless they made changes. I know some people have just worked until they gone into labour, and those are the people who weirdly love to boast about it.
Load More Replies...It's mostly USA, Europe has usually a one year leave. And blame also Hollywood. Their tv shows about business women practically crying to get back to work after just having a baby because they love their work soooo much! Freaking media propaganda! In reality, I doubt most women are that obsessed with work.
In Germany the weeks shortly before and after birth are not even called maternity leave and not part of it. They are called „mother protection“. AND If you work in a dangerous field, your doctor can and will put you on (fully paid) „sick leave“ for the duration of your entire pregnancy to protect mother and child.
This practice is designed to squeeze the most out of workers regardless of their situation. So it is working as intended.
Most pharmaceuticals, unfortunately.
This is a huge problem that affects almost all of us. Unless you are a mid-sized white male- the dosage is likely off. Not only women, but non-white folk have rarely been included in drug testing; also those of us like red-heads who are genetically a bit different. How to change this- is a vast problem; there is no "authority" in place to require and oversee it. It would be hugely expensive to re-test so Big Pharma is against it.
As a very not mid-sized white male, can confirm. Maximum allowable med dosages are predicated on a person weighing, iirc, 165 pounds. When you hit tolerance at max dose with a med, there's nowhere to go. It's especially great for psych meds ( ask me why my ADHD has been unmedicated since 2015!).
Load More Replies...yeah just had this convo with my wife yesterday. as she pointed out women have a higher threshold for pain, and tolerance to medication. they are created with the average human in mind.
Often the dosage is extremely off. The trials are made with male probands, and women are given a lower dosage by default, even if it doesn't work. But women have by nature a higher fat-muscle ratio, so their dosage should be higher than for a man at the same size
This is a gross oversimplification of factors that effect dosage.
Load More Replies...Unisex equipment should not be the default. There should be a push to create products that take into account the needs of both men and women. Without enough women designing products, we will still continue to live in a world that’s been primarily designed for men. What are your thoughts on these examples? Let us know in the comments, and tell us if you have any solution for this issue.
I'm pretty sure cars? Last I heard, most or all crash tests are used with a male model, but that might've changed semi-recently
They have a supposedly female model now, but in reality it has the same proportions as the male crash dummy, it's just smaller. So the significant differences in the chest and waist areas are still not considered.
Interestingly some companies have been using "female" crash test dummies for decades. Mercedes for example: https://group.mercedes-benz.com/innovation/product-innovation/technology/female-crash-test-dummies.html They've introduced even better versions recently, but at least they had them 20+ years ago.
Load More Replies...Most vehicles are designed for men as well, this is why so many women have to sit so close to the steering wheel, which can cause serious injury in an accident.
so prior to them testing for women, they just died in an accident since there were no tests done with a "female" dummy in the car? some of these things are just pointlessly pointing out things that just don't make any sense.... like the one above about seatbelts.
Your comment shows you have zero grasp the history here. There are multiple studies showing gender differences in severity of injuries & death statistics due to this. Mal-fitting seatbelts can do more harm than good, and shorter women DIE more frequently due to this. Might kinda just be about to more than a little whinging, maybe? I mean, only if womens lives have any value.

Whoever designed auto-flushing toilets. The damn thing is throwing sewage water on the back of my thighs before I can get my pants up. Wtaf?!?!
I'm guessing they were designed without considering men preferring to sit, auto-flushing toilets are an inconvenience to almost everyone.
Load More Replies...I hate these things. Not only is it a water waste, but it flushes before I'm ready. I call it Big Brother for my B******e. I move an inch or centimeter and it flushes before I stand up. Sometimes it flushes when I breathe or blink. I yell at an automatic toilet as much as I yell as the Self Checkout who accuses me of stealing after I scan an item.
I get badet'ed by them. Or the spray all over the damn places before you can scramble out of the stall. It's absolutely nasty. Why aren't there toilet lids on many public toilets?
I'm absolutely petrified of the toilet flushing while I'm on it. I have to cover the sensors, and have had to hold it with certain bathrooms that have the sensor embedded in the wall. It's a me problem, I get that, but...fck automatic toilets.
Take a couple of sheets of toilet paper and hang it over the electric eye.
Lab coats. Totally random, but mine makes me look awful. Like a teletubby. Also, the sleeves are too long in the size that fits me. Have to roll them up. The buttons pop open on the chest and hip every day. My boyfriend, meanwhile, looks like a pinup. We finally have custom Rx safety glasses! Where are the custom lab coats?!
I've worked across multiple lab sites, and it's never been an option. Not even available from our supplier. There were tons of style options but none cut to fit a woman's curves. You had to settle for oversized which isn't exactly safe in a lab.
Load More Replies...This!!! The animal facility in my university only has coats from male medium and up, meaning even the smallest ones are huge on me and the sleeves are way too long and wide.
Because you have to wash it and it goes back in the pool everybody uses. A wet lab may get you dirty and disintegrate parts of your protective gear. Science isn't just sitting around looking important, but handling dangerous material.

Speculum
Thankfully there are now different shapes and sizes and plastic instead of metal but I'm still scarred both mentally and physically.
Like so many procedures and practices, this is designed for the fertile years and takes no account of how the body can change in the second half of your adult life. As a childless woman, even the smallest size always felt uncomfortable, but since the menopause it's like being ripped apart. Some doctors and nurses will tell you that everything gets looser down there, but if you don't have a partner the vagina can effectively reseal itself, and thin skin tears very easily. I don't understand why they can't use a fibre optic scope like they do for a gastroscopy or colonoscopy and look at it on screen instead of directly. They'd also get much clearer results and could keep images on your file. ETA: or how about making them from silicon, so they adapt to different bodies and are less forceful? One nurse suggested ordering one online and practising at home, but let's just say that opens up a whole new world of websites that I don't want to know about.
So it's not just me then? I wondered why it seemed so much worse recently

Load More Replies...Before I was introduced to the stirrups, this was the first thing that made me see going to the Gyno as Medieval torture.
Years ago I read that they were developing a fiber-optic cord that could go up the vagina and eventually replace the speculum. Still waiting.
Reading just the word caused all of my personal bits to scream and hide somewhere up into my torso.
Underwear, because it nearly never fits. Always rides up. Especially when those high cut 80s things came out there were no proper fitting ones anymore, eventually I found boyleg undies, but they are still different from what they used to make. Plus the double fabric is in the wrong place. Definitely must be designed by men, women wouldn’t do that.
Anyone else noticing that all the posts arguing in this thread have male usernames?
yes, but you don't see that also women upvote them. This post for instance, I agree that there are many brands and styles. As to the fabric in the middle, I heard different theories on it that it is to avoid chafing? It would make more sense to me if it was to absorb discharge more, so I agree I'd like to have it higher up. But the line "definitely must be designed by men, women wouldn't do that" is very jugdemental (I can't find the right word... superiority? looking down on men, like they are stupid and incompetent?).
Load More Replies...Can we talk about how expensive women's undergarments are? For a bit of elastic and fabric, should it really cost over $20?
What makes women's undergarments so expensive is the labor. There are a lot of different bits of different kinds of fabric and elastic to put together. Same with swim suits.
Load More Replies...The Wonderbra was. Most women’s clothing was designed and manufactured by men until very recently and female designers are still the minority.
Load More Replies...At this point I just just want a full coverage bra, with no underwire, separates the breasts with no weird shape, no chafing middle seams, supports underneath without pulling on the shoulders and moves with my boobs, not against them. As for panties, full coverage and high enough to fit over my pelvis pouch without rolling down.
38KK. I just gave up finding one that fits. Like trying to find a jockstrap for guys with scrotums the size of jumbo grapefruit. The couple of designs I found were horribly uncomfortable and super expensive. And no, they're not enhanced. All natural are my girls.
Have you heard of Bravissimo? It's a British bra store, and they sell up to an M cup, I think. Constantly developing more styles and sizes, and they ship globally if you're not in the UK. Some of their things are *very* pricey, but they have great sales fairly often.
Load More Replies...There are literally hundreds of brands and styles of underwear. Or then you have.avery specific bodyshape that would require custom design.
Also why are sweater materials now being used to make underwear for women?? Why, just why. They're so thick, hardly stretchy, and catch every piece of lint or fluff in the dryer 🙄
Thankfully there are women’s boxer briefs nowadays, but they’ll run you about ten bucks a pair. Meanwhile men’s boxer briefs sell for about $3 a pair.
So this is pretty niche but I'm a fencer and the chest protectors that women are required to wear are shaped like a Barbie's boobs. I wrote a whole article about it which went absolutely viral in fencing spaces. We're working on a redesign but it's very hard to engineer something that works for all people and doesn't cost three times more.
https://www.wfencing.org/post/the-problem-with-chest-protectors
The tl:dr is that they don't fit right and they don't scale well for larger people AT ALL (but they also don't scale well for small people). They are required because getting poked in the boobs really hard can give you a lump (not cancer, still bad). In the survey we did afterwards we also learned that they contribute to discomfort and dysmorphia among trans and nonbinary folks, and they lead to stupid comments and sometimes bullying among kids and teens.
Edit: I mean fencing as in the sport in the Olympics where we hit each other with blunted swords. Not the fence in your backyard or the person selling stolen goods on the black market.
Also, there are other styles of chest protectors beyond the barbie boobs but none of them really work for people who aren't very flat-chested. These are detailed in the linked post.
Serious fencer here. Yes, this an ongoing problem. My own guess is we're going to need both some kind of plastron-armor; AND a specially designed padded-reinforced bra under it. The plastron gives good impact protection; but breasts are so totally variable that many will get hurt anyway, without some specific support. Which means - a fencing bra made for the individual. Going to be pricey, no matter what- but should be less of a distraction eventually.
I used a taekwondo protector. Worked better. Was an awful fencer, by the way. But I enjoyed it so much.
Load More Replies...In a sort of similar vein: most places that teach jousting refuse to teach women, the reason being that if your chest armour is not PERFECTLY shaped around your breasts, your armour can easily decapitate you. I started looking into jousting when I was 17 and bored with the show jumping circuit, which is how I learned this.
Please be the person who designs a sport that combines jousting and show jumping.
Load More Replies...In certain horseback riding sports we wear a body protector as well. It looks like a vest, but feels kind of like football pads. These were definitely NOT created by anyone with boobs! Designs have gotten better, but years ago I had to leave the zipper partially open and rig up a way to tie it shut around my boobs. Not particularly safe either as it wasn't functioning as intended - but they were required to be worn in competition so I had to make do. Believe it or not there are women with breasts who ride horses! /s
I've heard similar stories for hockey players. Until the 1990s when the women's world championships were created, women were using male equipment, modifying it to fit or protect their chests. XX-body equipment is readily available now, but it took a long time.
Police stab vests and a lot of PPE and spinal protection gear like for horse riding all have similar issues which is extremely frustrating
Btw I went down a rabbit hole and in the process found a project that seems to be aiming at just that: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/fencing-chest-protector#/ A protector that can accommodate different shapes and sizes, and focused more on freedom and comfort of movement.
Wow, I had no idea! 😲 But now, seeing the images of those protectors I can't imagine how anyone could come up with this thing. It has a separate "compartments" for each boob!! 😬 Wearing a simple t-shirt underneath it would make it impossible to fit. So what did the designers thing? That people would go in bra-only or naked and carefully manoeuver each boob into its compartment?! It's really, one of the most baffling things I've seen....
Body armor for soldiers. This was (is?) an issue for military members stationed in the Middle East.
That has changed, because most women were not supposed to be in combat so they never thought about it, but then came Iraq and everywhere was the front lines, so they had to redesign. The US took a lot from the IDF for that, as they had women in combat and battle tested womens body armor. But now the US has a full US designed womens body armor.
Sports shorts
Search for it on google and add men or women and see the difference
Just shorts in general. Shorter for women. Try to find shorts for girls that cover their knees. (girls probably don't run and fall, don't climb trees, don't tumble on the grass).
I usually buy shorts for my daughters in the boys' section because at least the boy shorts go halfway or more down the thighs. Girls' shorts seem to just have to cover the undies? Btw my oldest daughter turns 7 this year and I do not understand why there's already, at that age, such a difference in shorts? I may be overly sensitive or something..... I just think that shorts for girls should be just as lpng as boys'.
Load More Replies...I say this a lot, but another big hooray for the Norwegian handball team that refused to wear those useless pòrn-like bikini shorts for the championship, and the German women's gymnastics. Women in sports should be able to wear real pants, and not be fined because they aren't small enough
I've been on an adult long search for shorts that DON'T constantly ride up my as$. And shorts shopping online is confusing... the cut, the length, the waist... and of course none of it is across the board sizing. Every brand has a different sizing scheme...
Funnily enough I remember boys shorts being super short when I was a boy. Or rather there were two types. Sports shorts which left nothing to the imagination and knee length pants. Google "Paul Hogan shorts" or "Warwick Capper shorts" if you want to know what the boys (and men) used to wear here. Not sure when it changed but at some point in the last 30ish years they became longer and looser.
There is no legitimate reason to have women playing volleyball in daisy dukes while men wear longer trunks. None.
I'm assuming this post is about length of the shorts?? Because, you know, Google results are heavily influenced by what your previous preferences, web browsing history and searches are. And as a result, I got some pretty cool plus-sized designs and photos in general, mixed with roughly equal amounts of short-shorts and longer, like knee length ones.
Plus the difference in cost. A single pair of underwear can cost $10-$30 depending on the store. My husband goes to Kohls and picks up a package of 3 for $25
The IUD was invented by Richard Richter in 1909 and the design was updated by Ernst Gräfenberg.
My IUD is so valuable that it's practically a family heirloom. I mean, forget about jewelry or antiques—passing down a top-notch piece of birth control is the ultimate gift, right?
Well, if it did work you wouldn’t have anyone to pass it down to 🤪
Load More Replies...I see there are a few people that are happy with their IUD and a lot that are not. I myself never had one, and never wanted one after my sisters IUD went walkabout, ended up lodged in an ovary , and she had an ectopic pregnancy because of it and had to have that ovary removed. I think this is a way too risky means of contraception.
My mom found out she's deathly allergic to copper after almost dying over the course of a year with her shiny new copper IUD slowly poisoning her.
I don't know what I would do without mine! I first had the copper (it was a nightmare!!!) But the Mirena is phenomenal! What period? What cramps? What pill? Just set it and forget it, bitches! ❤️
I'm jealous! I know your experience is probably most common, but its not my experience at all. My Mirena broke to pieces inside me (and obviously failed). Strings were in the right place so no gyno visits noticed until it failed. Pulling individual embedded pieces out of my uterus is a Top 5 worst moments of my life. No pain killers - the doctors couldn't even give me over the counter meds. Why? Because "that's not standard procedure". If you don't have the same happy outcome as most, make sure you advocate for yourself.
Load More Replies...I tried to get an IUD. Instead what I got was being subjected to the most excruciating pain I've ever felt, and being left with a phobia of the lady-doctor so intense that even routine exams have to be done under full anesthesia; sedation isn't enough. If I'm aware of what's happening to me, it's going to be torture.
IUDs were invented thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt. We know this because there were female mummies found with all copper IUDs still in place.
I looked this up on the web. It appears to be false. Ancient Egyptians used an acidic spermicide and possibly condoms, but not IUDs. The invention date of 1909 is correct.
Load More Replies...I can see all your comments to Fat Harry but if it hurts so much, why use it then? I still don't see the issue. Does it hurt while being inserted or every day you use it?
It depends on the woman, but for a lot of women it is very painful having it inserted and for months after. They basically open up the cervix, put a little donut on it to hold it open and then use a little rod that acts similar to a tampon to push the device into the uterus. I imagine the closest thing for a guy would be if they did all this to the urethra, and it is generally done without pain meds. Some women have no problems, and prefer the low dose or no hormone benefits of not taking birth control every day. For others there are complications, including the intense cramps (which often hurt worse than the time I dislocated my knee cap), possible damage to the uterus and in my case developing vestibular migraines. I tried it because my gyno suspected I had endometriosis, and the low dose hormone IUD was supposed to help with the symptoms, but for me made everything so much worse. Had it removed once I started getting vertigo and blacked out a few months after.

To be fair, the male characters look just as sexy and pin-up like as the women. For me, these people are fictional so they don't have to be realistic, and if they are all overly pretty, it's fair. After all, if I find the male characters attractive, the guys should have the same service for the female ones.

A metal bikini does not offer the same protection as full chest armor. I often end up playing as the male character.
Monster Hunter is a big offender at that. I personally see it as fair when both male and female characters look uber-sexy, but if it's just the women and the men look normal, as in MH, I will never make a female character

A lot are adjustable too. Or here's an idea, find one that fits your body. That's why hiking backpacks come in so many different sizes.

I'm pretty sure lingerie wasn't designed FOR women. To be worn by, yes. But for, no!
I don't get this at all. It should 100% be designed for women - they wear it. If the implication is that lingerie was designed by men for men's enjoyment that's really the point of this thread, isn't it? One more thing designed by men for women that's uncomfortable.

Tampax (and possibly other brands) tampons. It swells in length instead of getting wider when expanding. It's pushing you in spots nobody wants to ever feel pressure imo, it's just not correct anatomically speaking.
Apparently, many got genuinely sick from using them due to this (I haven't seen any official reports tbf, just reading it up on the internet and some anecdotal evidence) and it's causing pain for others, including me. It hurt like hell, and definitely was not comfortable at all at any point. You just cannot not feel it. When I lived in the UK, I either had to spend a smaller fortune on buying OB tampons from various sites on the internet or ask someone to bring me some when they were visiting a country that had them, as they're not being sold in the UK. I tried several other brands, including Lidl and drugstores' own brands, and while OB was the best in my opinion, most were not as uncomfortable as Tampax was besides a few. I do apologise for not naming more, but Tampax is the most common as far as I've seen and I've tried so many brands I just can't remember their names.
Edit:typo
UK has Lil-lets which are much more popular than Tampax. No applicator, and they expand width ways not length. Most supermarkets do the same design for little money.
They are painful to remove AND there is no way to put it in so it is comfortable sitting and standing. Like, I'm fine using something else for like, running, but I shouldn't have to chose wether to stand comfortably or sit comfortably
If you can feel it when its in, and its painful removing every time, please go speak to your doctor, they genuinely shouldn't even be noticeable when inserted. You may have something as simple as a tilted pelvis (I have a friend with this, and she cant use them for that exact reason, hers causes sex to be incredibly painful at times too), but it could also be a symptom of endometriosis, abnormal cells on your cervix (so make sure you're up to date on your smear checks), or even due to vaginal dryness (which could be caused by vitamin/mineral deficiency, or even a reaction to the materials used in tanpons). But regardless it may be worth getting it investigated just in case 💜

Not as much these days, but kitchens. More men cook now than previously, but kitchens are still used more by women, and mostly designed by men. My husband was a good cook, we shared the kitchen. But things I couldn't reach were no problem for him. We both hated the kitchen in this house, (I still do) but we never got around to changing it.
TBH, I don't know how well the average person, any make or model, would do at designing a kitchen. You'd have to build 'em and use 'em to find the flaws, and figure out how to do it better. Things don't always work in practice, as well as they looked on paper. Or in the computer program.
My husband and I decided our new kitchen, even though I'm the one cooking the most, say 12 meals out of 15. We had a list of stuff we wanted and went to see a designer. It took us 4 hours. We redid the kitchen, dining room, living room. Tiles, cupboards, counters, windows, walls, ceiling, electricity, plumbing, and two railings for the stairs. It took them 70 days. When I started cooking again, I had a problem washing my dishes, then I figured that my counter was higher (up to par) than my older one. My contractor made me a big stool (think 4'x6) and the guy that installed it cut it in two so I could have one in front of my stove and the other in front of my sink.
My grandad built the benches lower than normal in the house he built. It was the most comfortable kitchen I ever used.
I had a baby and we used bottles to administer formula. The numbers and oz indicator lines were in white.
WHITE.
How is this a product designed for women by men? This is a product designed for infants to be used by the child's caregiver.
Add to that, it's a very brand specific complaint. Especially when the sample photo clearly shows blue lettering not white...
Load More Replies...Apparently we're working with very different cultures here. The white text sucks, and yes, I'm a guy. Where I come from, real men delight in caring for their babies, and find the macho culture ridiculous.
Well, I have a glass measuring cup where there is no color on the measurements so I just use it when I need a cup and fill it up. Who says those bottles were made by men? I inherit that measuring cup but bought mine with color so I could read them. If you don't like them, don't buy them.
Not quite what you were looking for but skincare and cosmetics. It was still a largely male dominated industry up until the 90s. In many countries the key decision makers in “big beauty retail” is still men. Men still hold most of the purse strings in the industry people just don’t know it or are too lazy to recognise it.
This article was weird. It was about products designed for women, but were designed by men. I think about 5 of these qualified under that title. Most of this was just complaints about women’s products that just kind of suck regardless of their designer. Maybe it’s just another misleading title that will change 3 times over the next day or two.
I agree. Underwear? Not always designed by men. And also, kind of, there are millions of brands, pick your favorite.

Same with flats, I've struggled to find one that's wide enough in the back but doesn't feel too loose in the back.
I end up getting wide, or 1/2 size up. An adhesive heel insert will help it be less loose in the back.

Pockets, apparently every woman wants them and absolutely no, one, has ever designed and manufactured them to fill the enormous demand. Must be a plot by the patriarchy.
I added this in the obligatory "no pockets" section, but I thought I would drop it here too - Here is a site that rated 10 different makers of women's pants with deep pockets. I assume that with ten decent choices 100% of the women on this site will flood these manufacturers with millions of shopping dollars (or Euros). This will be the wake-up call to all the other manufacturers to start making ONLY pocketed pants. This will also have a huge benefit for the poor because designers like Versace, Chanel, and Prada will have massive stocks of unsold dresses, skirts, pants, and whatnot. Their only option will be to give them to charity. https://reviewed.usatoday.com/style/features/womens-jeans-deep-functional-pockets

🤣🤣🤣 wait… You’re not serious right? Because this is far far too stupid to be serious, you have got to be a troll. 2/5 stars. Better luck trolling next time
