Because although a brief skim through Instagram might leave you feeling that every pretty girl is just perfect except for you, nothing is further from the truth! Even the most attractive people can quite easily uglify themselves, and this is celebrated on the subreddit r/PrettyGirlsUglyFaces. If a man doesn't love you making a goofy face with no makeup on he is not the man for you anyway. Seriously your eye makeup there is really well done and you're clearly lovely, no need to be serious 100% of the time.
This rural English tradition now has it's own World Championships, with people coming from across the globe to try and win the title of ugliest face. Traditionally gurners frame their faces with a horse collar, in a procedure that is known as "gurnin' through a braffin'. A typical gurn involves projecting the lower jaw as far forward and up as possible, and covering the upper lip with the lower lip.

I feel like all dating apps should require all the people to post best/worst photos side by side. Not only would it make the process more "honest" but I think it would be so much more fun.

I think its funny how many people comment "not the same person!". Well yeah... it is. And even permanent features like teeth can look different from some different angle. Eyebrows are often filled in with makeup and makeup can also make your eyes look bigger etc. The way you feel can also have a HUGE inpact on how you look. The point is: we all have different sides, inside and out. Its not just "insta vs reality".

No! That’s the point, girl. Any of us can look like s**t and any of us can doctor it up and look way better. Nobody is just beautiful or just ugly. That’s the point. If you feel like the ugly pic on the right all the time I won’t patronize you and call you beautiful but trust me, nine times out of then you can fancy up your appearance and get closer to the left. You shouldn’t feel bad about yourself like this. Appearances aren’t everything but self esteem is important, even if people tell you otherwise. You can learn to look how you want to look / feel.

Makeup is such a big advantage for women. They can make their mediocre/plain faces appealing. Men are stuck with theirs. In the world of online dating when looks are so important, it puts men at a big disadvantage.

Contouring makes everyone’s face look better but the “after” shots aren’t “after shots.” This isn’t before and after makeup. This is girls taking cute pics and then taking the ugliest possible pic they can take. You have to contort your face, not just be ugly without trying lol
