President Donald is one of the most famous Twitter climate change deniers - and despite being publicly shut down by science - him and his fellow deniers don't seem to be going anywhere. Yes, even with the Midwestern U.S facing extreme temperature lows from a polar vortex, people out they still don't seem convinced that this extreme weather has any scientific rhyme or reason.
The polar vortex is a band of strong winds, high up in the atmosphere that keeps bitterly cold air locked around the Arctic region. And people in the Midwest have been forced to stay indoors due to the freezing temperatures. Two of the worst offending businesses that contribute to global warming is oil/gasoline producers and coal production. With the rise in use of electric cars and the reliance on coal decreasing..we are making moves in the right direction. But the worst offender in pollution is China. Not surprising since it seems the majority of products that are available in this world come from China.

Makes me angry that there are people out there who are this stupid about the planet's impending doom.
Due to the bad weather, the school was closed, which accidentally prevented a school shooting.
Not sure if people are aware of this, but mild changes in temperature..even warming by a few degrees, destroys mountains of species. Right now the sturgeon population is dying because lake and river water temperatures are at an all time high. Polar bears are dying because the warmer weather is melting snow they rely on to stealthy approach and kill prey...it also melts the snow faster shortening their hunting season. Coral reefs..homes for thousands of aquatic species, are dying at an alarming rate take that aquatic life with it. We need to do something now. This isn't just some natural event. It's man made and, as we are the cause, we have the power to stop it.
Pretty sure if they don't understand opposite seasons in the southern hemisphere vs the northern hemisphere, there's no hope they can grasp any idea even slightly more complex.
Why are people so angrily against the idea of man-driven global warming? Why are they against taking steps to curb pollution? Even if the science was wrong (Ha!), why would we want those kinds of contaminants in our living space?
Because the vast majority of deniers have the basic philosophy of: I've got mine, fuck you.
It's politics; big oil companies control the simple minded republican, and breed that vehemence into an us-vs-them mentality. It's not about man-driven climate change, it's about sticking it to the 'filthy liberals'
It's a very good question. Basically, deniers are ones who either have lots of money invested in fossil fuels (as well as their friends) or they are people who don't like the idea of not driving their petrol/ diesel-fuelled cars and leaving all their electrical appliances on.
I agree but I wpuld add that for many people it is about identity politics only. They don't want to be associated with certain personality types. Frankly, I think a lot of it boils down to toxic masculinity, they don't want be like "hippies".

OK - has no one of the global warming deniers ever watched the Day after Tomorrow? It is very clearly explained there why global warming will lead to the entire US covered in snow and frozen over!
It's fiction, it's hyperbole, and I love that film just the same. The message is important, even if they played fast & loose with the facts. And I watch The Day After Tomorrow every winter.
