Robert De Jesus has made a name for himself by offering a service that works similar to the street artists who caricature people on the spot. Except that you don’t have to leave your house and this artist doesn’t draw caricatures, he just references the photos. So if your hand-drawn portrait is an exaggerated or humorous version of what you see in the mirror, you should probably turn to that mirror once more.
This self-taught illustrator, animator, and writer makes exceptional cartoon drawings based on people’s photos. He is no stranger to the anime style, which combined with solid experience in illustrations and character design results in a unique style.
“The idea hit me while at one convention,” DeJesus told Bored Panda. “The official convention badges they wore reminded me of drivers licenses, and I thought why not make a mock license and draw the owner as a Chibi cartoon character in the spot where their photo would normally go. I designed a badge, bought a laminator, and at the next convention these anime characters were a huge hit.”
These ‘anime-treatments’ were originally a side thing to fund the projects the artist was passionate about, and he still does custom portrait commissions on his eBay store. You can check his previous drawing ideas featured at Bored Panda here and here.
Moreover, over the years, the artist has created illustrations, comics, cool drawings, and character designs for a handful of well-known publishers such as Antarctic press, Marvel, and PlayStation Magazine.

Y'know, the picture looks really cool but I can't help but look at the drawn pup and think "Grumpy Cat meet Grumpy Pup".
Gosh, the kitty looks a little like real life Greebo! Only more good-natured! Discworld fans can relate!
Try having this done to you by five cats, who are competing against four dogs. Privacy, what's that?
To me, he looks Professor Oak 8BF6D936-3...12a6f9.png
I don't know y, but the people are more squat than the reality photo.
Fun Fact: Sloths have very long and sharp claws, and having one cling onto you could hurt pretty bad. I fear sloths.
That cat is MY spirit animal. I think she has been reincarnated and taking care of a new human now.
I just went "When you've got octopus on the brain", a Rihanna cover.
in the photo she looks sad, but in the drawing she looks a bit more happier.
So cute! The kitty's patch of fur by it's eye looks as if it's eyebrow was dislodged & falling off.
If there was a show with this character in it, I would watch it in a heartbeat.
where is your mother? only adults are allowed here.
Load More Replies...The original picture looks like young Patrick Stump... or is it just the fedora?
I think the photos are taken in a zoo or sanctuary (hopefully sanctuary). Sloths should not be kept as pets.
