I love the look of exhaustion and terror and hopelessness on her face. That how summer is. I applause the teachers for putting up with our kids all year long they are amazing people!

i feel so guilty, in retrospect, for the size beach bag my mom used to haul to the beach. My dad carried the chairs and the enormous metal umbrella, and I complained about having to carry my own bag of sand toys. They told me flat out: if you want to play with them, you have to carry them yourself. I thought it was so MEAN. I'd completely do the same to any kid today. Just load them up like a tiny burro.

When I was 7, I went on a road trip. I was so thrilled that I had finally learned to read. I started reading every billboard, street sign, etc. Finally, my grandmother said "You don't have to read every sign!"

Mam desperate, baby smiles. You gotta love that.

When my parents went on vacation for the first time with me I was just two year old. We met up with my aunt and uncle in a town 3 hours away. first thing I say when we get there is "Are we in vacation now? Is this vacation?" We still had 6+ hours to drive to Sweden :)

We literally had just backed out of the driveway onto the street when my two-year old asked if we were almost there.

I always say it's because humans will let you know when they're hungry & thirsty. If my plants would remind me, I would be a better plant mother.

Because plants need love too! :) Bigger pots when they grow, fertilizer, new ground, water :P

My mother was awful with gardening and no one in the family helped her. But I really appreciate that she never gave up and she still tries to grow living plants at her garden even though it usually fails. I also try nowadays grow something on my balcony every summer but that usually fails. :)
