"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that." Self-taught Italian artist Cristoforo Scorpiniti aka Crisco Art has been creating glow-in-the-dark paintings for a few years now. But his pieces aren't just pictures visible throughout the whole day. They tell two stories: one when the lights are on and another complimentary one when they're off.

Focusing mostly on dreamy landscapes and animals, Cristoforo uses glow-in-the-dark paint to create his artworks. It may sound simple, but there's so much more to it. "I started with color symbolism first and foremost," he said. "Later on, I [added] scenarios of the natural world [with] strong emotional impact ... I like to think of [my universe] as an uninfected, primitive, magical world."
Much like his paintings that illuminate the shadows, Cristoforo's artistic side revealed itself during a dark time in his life. After getting fired from his real estate job, he had to return home to Southern Italy. However, rather than feeling sorry for himself over the negative experience, Cristoforo thrust himself into something new.
It was precisely this return to his hometown that sparked his passion for art. Now, Cristoforo has quite the fanbase. Nearly 1.2 million people follow him on Facebook while his Instagram army has just reached 582k. "My biggest dream is to open my [own] gallery in major cities around the world so that everyone can admire my creations," he said.
Looks like you would need a UV black light for these, they probably don't glow otherwise.
Now this one is my favorite. Where can we buy these paintings that you do?
I like how the black around the edges becomes more prominent. Makes the image look dreamlike
How to defeat Captain America, go for the legs. His sheild is the size of a dinner plate and look at them legzszzszs
This one is subtle, like if I saw this in someone's house during the day, I might not notice for q sec if I walked past in the night - I like it
Does anyone else see a face above the wolf’s head in the glow in the dark picture?
I respect both aspects, but I prefer the light on one. i love the ombre-esque sky
I said this before, but I really like the way he paints trees and forests!
Dear Boredpanda staff! Why are you promoting this man? And this is not the first time! He is stealing other artist works, repaints, copies them, and sells them as his own work. Even in his videos he uses copyrighted music without even mentioning artist. Here are also represented numerous works, that are stolen from other artist or companies. (Few examples: Kevin Colbert - @ kjcollert , Andy Fairhurst - @ andyfairhurst72, @konveekou ) His not an artist! Real artists doesn’t steal from other artists, doesn‘t copy their work without mentioning them and getting permissions from them. He could only get these mass followers by constantly blocking, misleading people, deleting comments and stealing form others. Numerous big sides constantly promoting him even if they know these facts, and they say it is not their business. I hope it is somehow Brodepanda business to do something, I hope get correct answers and I my comments wouldn’t not be deleted, down voted (as Crisco does constantly)
How Does Glow In The Dark Work?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1PU9Dg0zCE And here is another one: How to Make Glow in the Dark Painting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvHGrCxIO5E
To be honest I stopped scrolling after the third stolen art piece. Putting glow in the dark paint on it doesn't change the fact that it's not his work. Please Panda, stop promoting this!!
Thank you for letting me know, I had no idea!
Load More Replies...I find some really really really talented artists and work according to my liking here on BP, but this... i never regretted having no money for art as much as I do now, I would like to own most of these, if not all of them. So original and so awesome.
If you want to pose for a photo with your finished artwork by all means go ahead, but either skip the staged paintbrush and palette holding, or at least put some paint on the darned thing so it looks like you at least tried to make it believable.
If you want to be bitter about a lack of self-talent by all means go ahead, but either skip the ridiculous criticism, or at least go blow some sheep which based on your comment is believable.
