If you think cats only took over the internet recently, think again. Long before memes and viral videos, felines were already making their mark on canvases, sculptures, and manuscripts across centuries. From ancient depictions to classical masterpieces and modern interpretations, artists have long been fascinated by their mystery, elegance, and undeniable charm.

"The Bachelor’s Party" by Louis Wain, 1939
"Mother Cat with her Kittens” by Henriëtte Ronner-Knip
This just reminds how much I love kittens, but at the same time you have to watch them constantly or the entire house gets wrecked or a kitty gets caught somewhere.

"Cats' Christmas Party" by Louis Wain, 1910
I love Louis Wain's cat drawings, especially the Christmas ones! It's a shame he did advertisements against the suffragettes. And his fate was tragic: he ended up schizophrenic in an asylum. He continued to paint, but his cats had become psychedelic before their time!
"Difficult choice" by Ricky Way

"Jilt" by Owen Smith, 2012

"Children with a Cat," by Dirck Hals, 1631, The Clark Art Institute, Williamstown, MA, USA
"Cats" by Frank Mark, 1909
"The Cat Card Players" by Paul Cézanne
Fake. I know this Cezanne painting and there's no cat in it.
“The Tabby Toboggan Club” by Louis William Wain, 1898
Again, Louis Wain is the best when it comes to paintings and sketches of cats.
Artwork by Peter Klucik

Is being a strange/crazy cat lady really such a bad thing?
