Hello, fellow Pandas! It's been some time since I first posted my art on here and I am still overwhelmed by all the love and support I received.
This really helped me to go on even when times got darker over the last months. Thank you!
I still believe in books being a wonderful and unique medium that presents art as well as being art itself. So I still try to rescue as many books as possible from those free give away boxes on the street, so they won't be lost in the rain, offering them a new life as a canvas for my creation.
Using mainly black and white markers, as well as quite a lot of red, I try to tell a story with my pictures and I simply love how the words on the pages merge with my art.
Recently I got to use watercolors as well and I think the way they softly frame the strong black ink has something magical about it. I also started doing time-lapses some weeks ago, so if you are interested in my working process to have a look on my Instagram. They are there, right next to the final picture. :)

Guardian angel shielding protection of the bear. Poignantly befitting as to the old text & laments that once Deutschland's Bavarian woodlands once filled their wild homeland. Not known to approach humans. Though quickly taken out & forced to search for new habitats; one eventually made it's way home from Austria. The last one being shot 170 YBP. so goofy, nerdy of me - yep!
I can't figure out which story this is but a 'witch taking care of a cub' makes this my favorite piece of artwork out of all in this article
A) That's a cat. B) I don't think it's any particular story, seeing as how the artist quotes Marilyn Manson on the Instagram for this piece.

I like the drawings, but you say you "rescue books from free giveaway boxes"? How? By drawing on their pages? Books are supposed to be read, not destroyed like this. Why don't you use old newspapers or magazines? A book is a book, whether it's old or new, and this is just wrong.
Or, gather up the millions of copies of 50 shades of gray that are burdening thrift shops. It's a real problem lol

Beautiful work but I don't get the idea of putting it on book pages. If anything I was looking at some of those picture thinking this would be so much nicer to look at if the text didn't feel so intrusive. The artist has a unique style about their work and it just seems wrong for them to use a cynical gimmick
Completely agree, it'd be just as beautiful on standard paper. It'd be one thing if the illustrations used the text in some way, but from what I can see they just pick a random page.

Novel idea (haw!): Make book covers for those books, with that art! Or draw in blank spaces like chapter ends!
Looking at the books... they are German books. And most Germans don't like hand-me down things. So as any good German would do... the book was repurposed. Now what hurts me more are old beautiful buildings torn down... you'll always find another copy of a book that was released during our time, but buildings... they are gone forever...
I would take offense to that comment if I didn't find its lacking logic and insurmountable ignorance elevating it from insensitive to highly absurd. The books may be German (and it seems like the same book), but that's it. The rest is not just subjective opinion, it is faulty, and I for one, don't care much about it. Oh, and yes, this is book abuse.

The art is stunning, but I feel bad for the poor books. lol. They can't be read now.
The art is absolutely beautiful! It reminds me a bit of Tim Burtons work! LOVELY! I think though, it would be just as incredible if it were drawn on fine paper suitable for framing honestly. I would buy these for kids rooms and even my home!

It's too bad the artist uses black ink. If only they could use colors that would allow the original print to still be read. Your art is covering somebody else's work. Like graffiti on a church.
"rescue books from free giveaway boxes" - I don't think so. Someone who couldn't otherwise afford the books could have had fun actually reading them if you hadn't destroyed them like this. The art is beautiful, but all of these would have looked better on a blank canvas.
