I don't see anything here that would indicate that the poster intends to try to keep and domesticate this little guy. It appears he lives in a very wooded area. The little bobcat probably just wandered by and had his photo snapped before he returned to the woods.

Not suggesting that falloutmike doesn't know this - I just don't want people to get the wrong idea about wild animals no matter how cute they are.
12 years ago I found a very young kitten on the highway. The vet told me it was an European wildcat and he would euthanize her - she would never be domesticated. Took her home and: Never ONCE had any issues, was housebroken from the first day. Loves attention. Sits like a meerkat. Purrs like a V12 diesel.

My grandpa had a pet bobcat. He said it was a great cat. Loved people but killed every other cat in the neighborhood. The Georgia -Pacific mill in town had a rat problem. The cat became the mills mascot. Got spoiled by people that worked there and took care of rat problem.

FUN FACT: Bobcats are Lynxes... here, take the Bobcat scientific name --> Lynx rufus. So yeah... it is both... aaand this one really is the Bobcat (simply quick search "Bobcat cub"), not other Lynx species (there are four in total and the other 3 cubs have nothing to do with this one). **Cool Biology guy flies away**

That's most definitely a bobcat cub, the cubs have relatively long tails, but this is still far shorter than that of a domesticated cat. :-)
