There's not a single country that doesn't have problems. But being the leader of the Western world, the United States of America is held to a high standard and its issues are often viewed through a magnifying glass, both internally and internationally. And the subreddit 'A Normal Day In America' is trying to bring some humor to these discussions.

Created in 2014, it now has 33.1k members, and according to the community's 'About' section, it focuses on things like toddlers in tiaras, guns in supermarkets, $100k hospital bills, obese babies, and other "everyday occurrences" in the US.

That's incredibly well done but it's sad that the richest country in the world can't give a little boy a walker.

That 70 bucks for Canada is misleading. One vial of insulin cost about $35, so you're looking at two vials at least for the month. The same vial goes for a hundred bucks in the US, so you'd need seven vials over the month to get to $700. Still insanely expensive, just wanted to clarify a bit.

Danm! In my country India its roughly 4 dollars if converted (400rps) , yet, people still thinks it's expensive and company needs to lower the prices to make it more affordable, for comparison Starbucks cofee is 400rps

You know, sometimes I wonder why there seem to be so many American people who are irrationally trusting of things like essential oils in place of medication...........and then I realise it's probably because there's just no rational way the average person can afford REAL medicine in that country! As a disabled person, I am ETERNALLY grateful I am not living in America!

This should be a crime. Charging $700.00 US dollars per insulin pen and $900.00 - $1400.00 US dollars for an Epi-pen in case you're allergic to bee stings! It should be a Crime to charge that much.

Everyone is saying free Healthcare, how is anything free? If you want over 60% of your wages taken away to pay for someone else's problems and life choices (most problems/ sickness are do to unhealthy lifestyle choices from smoking to over eating poisons/carcinogens, diet drinks). Even freedom is not free. What right does someone else have to my labor/money. Why not redo the system rather than whining about it. Big pharma is the problem
