Well, Collins does influence me to switch to another radio station as soon as I hear the opening note of one of his songs.

We could debate what "superior" even means, but they both had significant impacts on music. The Beatles (like many other artists) started out being heavily influenced by people like Chuck Berry (who might be considered as superior as one of the early pioneers of rock) before becoming more innovative. Queen were more innovative right out of the gate.

I can appreciate disco a bit now that I'm older and somewhat nostalgic, but the closes I came to having an disco in my music collection was Blondie's "Heart Of Glass" and the Kinks' "Superman".

I don't like her genre, but Celine Dion has one of the great voices of all time. She proved it when she sang Barbra Streisand's song at the Oscars and blew Streisand out of the water. Abba does absolutely nothing for me. American Abba fans: Have you listened to Chess? A surprisingly good rock opera by the guys from Abba and Andrew Lloyd Webber's superior partner, Tim Rice. It flopped in America for three reasons: Its campiness, its subject matter (a chess tournament), and the way it was dumbed down for Broadway. It's not really about chess; it's a cold-war love triangle.

Might not be a popular opinion but I think Madonna is over rated. Sure she's good at publicity and performance. But the music itself is pretty average.
