How better to illustrate these differences than by contrasting modern attitudes to love with vintage comics from more innocent times?

This is exactly what Peter Nidzgorski, the creative genius behind the blog 'This isn’t Happiness' has done.  Taking panels from classic comic love stories of yore, Peter cleverly inserts biting and satirical takes on today's self-obsessed culture, while playing heavily on one of his favorite themes - disappointment.
