I Released An Entire Book With 31 Illustrations That Includes Life Lessons From 2020
Being a dad to two tiny humans during 2020 has been super stressful in so many ways so I decided to create a daily illustration of inspirational life lessons I’ve learned this year to pass on to my kids to remind them of what’s really important for our future. Now it’s become an entire book that I’m giving away as a free download and hoping those who partake will also make a donation to CALM4Kids, a nonprofit here in Santa Barbara that helps kids who’ve been through trauma.

Load More Replies...Yeah but not Trelawney, despite how nice she is, she's a quack
they're in professor trelawney's class and i dont think harry and ron agree with you
i love harry potter. i have a huge cardboard cut-out of Harry, Ron, and Hermione in my room
I have to do this since I have anxiety (don't know from what; it just showed up and reappears from time to time).
Walk outside in daylight as much as you possibly can. It works even better if you can go for walks in nature, even a park will do, or in a neighbourhood with gardens. We humans have not evolved since we were cave-dwellers but our ways of communicating knowledge and how to go from here to there have changed dramatically over the last few centuries. Our basic needs are the same and when in doubt, my rule of thumb is to always go back to what we would have done back in the cave-days. We always WALKED and we walked a lot! So, friends, take a walk, and even better, conspire with a friend or a neighbour to go together. Wear a mask and remember to keep at a distance unless you are from the same household.
Load More Replies...I love the soldier that is meditating... lol. This reminds me of Hogwarts and the dragon, Hungarian Horntail
True, I'm glad that there are protesters that stand up for the thousands that like Abraham Lincoln and Rosa parks
If you look close at the book, it says MLK (Martin Luther King)!!!
flip, I'm really sorry, I just noticed I put "don't like". I put that by accident.
Load More Replies...There is a trash pile that is the size of Texas right now. Luckily people are cleaning it up.
poor marine creatures, we have to stop polluting but there are just some people who don't care which is why I want to start an organization that will help animals
It is to sell the point. YOU would tell people to clean up if you were standing in a pile of trash.
Load More Replies...I love to have some time spent with my dog without any other people, just us two
this image is SOOOOO true. there is a difference between alone and lonely.
Load More Replies...those anyone else notice here book says "you are awesome" :)
That would be getting Covid but I think this illustration means to overcome your fears
Historic Re-enactment Time! "I'm gonna [REMOVED BY THE BBC] a blender."
i mean yes but no yes to overcome certain fears but under no circumstances will i go investigate that noise in the basement
Do something every day that you hesitate to do - as long as it is legal, mind you! - and your world grows larger and becomes much more interesting.
if i misunderstood this, I would be freaking out right now because of doing something that I fear: watching horror movies.
Awww, I love this illustration and the message it conveys. I especially love that doggy, it is so adorable and cute
The autocorrect turned my word into "it is" which is wrong, dog's are not objects, sorry about that
Load More Replies...Some people have posting at social media as the bread and butter of their life, and getting paid for it. It is their job. Troll factories have employees churn out huge amounts of social media comments using thousands upon thousands of supposedly different accounts. They follow the recipe you see used by 'BoredPanda is awesome'. A very large number of harmless 'cute' comments that are basically void of content are then followed by a very different style of comment, with distinct meaningful content. Take a look at the racist comment to the "Speak Your Mind" drawing.
When I fell very sad and depressed, I cry with my dog and he makes me feel happy and comfortable
When I would cry with my dog it would make her cry then I'd feel really guilty.
Load More Replies...If you need to cry; you'll feel SO much better if you do - takes the tension away.
Same. I chose the wrong friends, and they all left me
Load More Replies...very true, bad friends can make you bad too (eg. If they are on drugs, they will probably peer-pressure you into taking the drugs)
why is this getting downvoted. It's true. I can tell from experience. I got out of it luckily though
Load More Replies...very true. There are hard moments but they don't last. Just focus on the positive until the hard moment passes
Enjoy the present moment is so true, especially during 2020. I love the dog and the 2 cats.
don't focus on the bad things that happened, just the happiness in the present moment
Load More Replies...Honestly, sometimes you have to just breath through it. I know a lot of people are suffering right now, and there is this new idea of "how are you improving yourself" or "what are you learning" or "how are you making the most of..." I remember when my mom was dying my therapist was telling me I needed to cherish the time we had. It was the most horrific thing I have ever gone through and I have no desire to remember it. However, what I do have is the knowledge that I made her as comfortable and at peace as I could. Sometimes you just have to keep moving and see the present as temporary.
Stella is not my dog but she'll change my mood anytime with this video. STELLA'S BEST LEAF JUMPS OF ALL TIME: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tu3HN-MmJc4
I support this even though my parents don't
Load More Replies...Black lives matter, trans lives matter, queer lives matter!
If all lives matter why are there still shootings of people for being different. The White people started this and the different ones are finishing it.
Load More Replies...I have trouble from this. I deal with my emotions better by myself rather than with other people, but sometimes it becomes too much. I am not that social and am shy so I don't really feel comfortable talking to people.
As much as many of us would love to it's often a case of all or nothing. To hide your emotions you often have to hide from them. This doesn't apply to everyone but I've met a fair few who it is what they deal with. Now, try holding down a job interacting with the public where you Don't hide your emotions. Even a few tears is sufficient to get a write up at some of these places. Since you have to hide the emotion from others it's easier to bury it from yourself too.
There's a Bob Marley album! I love Bob Marley, especially when I'm just laying down and chilling.
Yo, there’s a bob marly album and a David Bowie? lol, this kid likes the oldies
My sister and I laughed so hard every day that our stomachs would hurt so bad from laughing, when I was younger. Laughter is a medicine, you know (telling you from experience)
Even when you've lost a family member and are at their funeral! (This is entirely meant to be funny. I am not being serious before people get antsy)
I'm always curious which is how I learned like all the cool facts about animals that people don't usually know. I also love to explore
EARTH protects us! .......and WE need to protect,..... take care of our EARTH-home!
someone (a book) told me that asking for help doesn't make you weaker, it makes you stronger.
I always try to believe in myself, sometimes it doesn't work but most of the time it works
Even if it doesn’t work, you just need to keep believing
Load More Replies...Yes. That's 100% me. I love animals and I try to help, feed or watch them
Everything originates from nature, so just take a moment to appreciate it.
Absolutely!! Books are an amazing way to just get out if your own head for a while!
Load More Replies...I love adventures and even reading adventure stories (I loooooovvvveeee books)
Disturbing fact: in the humpty dumpty poem, they never say humpty was an egg
That way you will never be disappointed or surprised, you will be prepared
So my dream/hope that 2021 will be good to us might actually be true. Hope so
Where’s the “Don’t vote for people who have a fuzzy orange animal on their head?”
Well those were some smarmy cliches. I hope a publisher didn't spend a lot of money on it.
I love how you use one "colorful" color, white, grey, black. Kinda reminds me of Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales.
Simple colour theme and message for the each one, but they are so beautiful. 🥰
