“Efficient Workers Get Punished With More Work”: 30 Times This Instagram Account Tastefully Called Out Corporate Greed
How often do you hear "no one wants to work"? Saying this phrase has become a running trend among people in power, claiming that everyone has collectively decided to walk away from their jobs. But the truth is, millions of employees have had enough of being overworked, underpaid, and undervalued by their employers.
People are simply sick and tired of being exploited. They demand that companies improve their experience and ask bosses to respect their wants and needs but are faced with corporate greed instead. And the Instagram account we will call Eff You I Quit is here to bring it all out in the open.
"The labor market is a mess," the creator wrote in the description, aiming to shine a light on poor management and have workers' voices heard. Below, you will find some illuminating posts and our interview with the founder of the account, Bizarre Lazar. So continue scrolling and be sure to share your thoughts in the comments!

happened to me I got tired working in an expensive country , house sharing and underpaid, left the country for a cheaper country, the company Abbott found out and fired me for that
THREE THINGS CAN HAPPEN WHEN A COMPANY IS UNIONIZED FIRST TWO ALWAYS.. PRODUCTION GOES DOWN.. COSTS GO UP AND PEOPLE ARE LAID OFF AND/OR LOSE THEIR JOB.. 3RD, COMPANY GOES OUT OF BUSINESS. When Sen. Joe Biden took office the UAW had 1,5 million membership.. now they have 400,000 membership..that means over a million lost their jobs. Studebaker is out of business as is American Motors and Tucker.
the other side: Postal , union 'workers' Hide, I saw one standing up, sleeping. 6 were handcuffed and taken out for stealing. Next day came back and got two more.. Punching people in that stayed home and farmed, GM, unions Kalamazoo, Mi, would hide and sleep. Even the union workers got tired of it so they would paint their shoes red while they were sleeping so the foreman could see what they did..Two things ALWAYS HAPPENED WHEN A COMPANY WAS UNIONIZE.. THE THIRD QUITE OFTEN.. PRODUCTION WENT DOWN. COST WHEN UP, 3RD,, OFTEN THE COMPANY LAID PEOPLE OFF, THEY LOST THEIR JOB AND EVEN THE COMPANY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS..
Scientists did study an example of this, and all the other chimps murdered the “dictator.”
Load More Replies...No, the other monkeys would murder then eat him before consuming his banana hoard. Food for thought...
Chimpanzees have also been known to band together to kill the one hoarding the food..sometimes even resorting to cannibalism after they've killed him.
We should put chimpanzees in charge. They clearly have this whole "society" thing figured out.
Load More Replies...If the hoarding Monkey worked out some way of fooling the other Monkeys into thinking they could one day also have a hoard of Bananas, if they just worked hard enough... Oh wait, that's us.
Incorrect and misleading comparison. Comparing a monkey hoarding bananas while others starve to people with a lot of money is ridiculous. Maybe if that monkey made a deal with the other monkeys to bring him a shiny rock in exchange for a Banana, allowing both of them to get something they wanted, it'd be more accurate.
That said, when monkeys run around butt naked, we call it nature. When I do it, we call the cops.
Also, starving monkeys would steal from hoarding one, or gang up and and kill it ;)
Monkeys would never put up with that behavior. They're not stupid.
Maybe you should leave that position open. There are a lot of managers who exist just to annoy people who are trying to do their job.
Worked at a restaurant when the manager took leave for a few months. During that time we operated without any real management only ourselves, and we improved efficiency, customer relations, improved the cocktail menu, oh and nearly double our customer base. Then she came back. Within 4 weeks we lost business, mainly because if it got too busy (for her, she didn't do anything, period) she would refuse to seat people then run and hide, only to emerge occasionally to see if they were all gone. She gave her notice after another 4 weeks, and we thought everything would be fine, But Noooo. Instead of picking any one of five people that could handle the job the owner opted to hire an accountant whom had work in a restaurant once 6 years prior. After her being hired she proceeded take 3 of her first four weeks on vacation, and then over the next four weeks took another two weeks of vacation and then said in 3 months I'm going on maternity leave. I left and the place closed 6 weeks later.
lower management is upper management's way of giving their friends over payed useless jobs while simultaneously ass-f*****g the team the friend is "managing"
I can relate … I ran my electronics department for 6+ months. We never missed a quota and everyone was happy. While... the company was interviewing men for the supervisors position. I applied for the job and was turned down because … I was a woman. This was in the '80's. I was a "Lead" but couldn't be a supervisor. However... I trained many men to 'supervise' my department.
at the company I worked for, a manager that was fortunate enough to inherit a fine -tuned crew would be treated as if he created the crew from thin air! That supe would be sent to lower performing crews to 'get them up to speed'. That new group did NOT improve and that supe was blamed for their poor performance. The performance had not changed since his arrival. Gee, how could THAT happen? He 'fixed' the last crew. Ummm, no, they were already great at the job, he was just lucky...
Yup! I was running a small boutique as a manager for basically a year, all the while my district manager wouldn't promote me because "I wasn't ready." In the year before I was officially promoted I outlasted 3 hired managers. The longest one lasted 3 months.
"I launched the account last October after seeing how much upheaval was going on in the labor force," Lazar told Bored Panda. "I found it pretty uplifting to see stories of people saying 'screw this' to horrible bosses and terrible working conditions."
According to him, a lot of people were blaming stimulus checks and unemployment and screaming "no one wants to work anymore". This naturally angered Lazar and made them want to start highlighting why and how these people were wrong.
With 73k followers on Instagram and more than 100K on Twitter, the account gets a lot of submissions from people sharing their experiences. "It’s amazing. Definitely overwhelming at times. I have a few hundred DM’s still left unanswered and more coming in all the time," Lazar said. "All of it is appreciated and I’m extremely grateful people keep reaching out."
This, and making commercials asking us to donate to whatever cause they support. No, you use your "spare money" to help that cause!
Lol like grocery stores - who have made record profits during the pandemic - asking me to donate $2 to charity every time I go through the checkout. That's some nerve.
Load More Replies...Budweiser, for example, has spent ungodly amounts of advertising money on a name that is so recognizable globally. Do they really need to spend that kind of money for advertising, especially in America. Everybody knows Budweiser, everybody. Take that money and give it to the factory workers.
Not only that but certain federal employers wanting their employees to contribute to CFC and then the employers taking credit for all of the donations.
People underestimate the power of ads to bring in money. They may have paid 6.5M for a 30 sec ads during superbowl, but it will get shared for weeks on social medias, people will talk about it. No one talks about regular TV ads or those you see on YouTube, but they do about superbowl ads.
Will anyone start talking about the detrimental effects of advertising? This cancer does more damage than all the nuclear bombs going off at once
No one is owed a "living wage". You have to be worth it to earn it. Your poor life choices are not the problem of your employer. I worked hard and earn well. It's not rocket science.
??? Sir, THE POINT OF THE MINIMUM WAGE IS TO BE A LIVING WAGE!!! That way, people could afford the cost of living with one job, not 5!
Load More Replies...No that’s government overreach creating a problem then spending billions Joplin billions to fix the problem they created.

Truck drivers make $100k a year. I wouldn't put them on the lowest paid people platform, and they basically kept this country running during this.
more 'WOE IS ME' stories.. if it wasn;t for those who work harder/smarter to invest in a business or come up with a better mouse trap..there would be a company to have a job..Never was hired by anyone poorer than me.

well that backfired hard. But I guess they remove that type of posts rather quickly in order to protect the brand.
When I was laid off because Studebaker union employees would call 'wildcat Strikes (people would hire and have buddies puch them in while they stayed home and farmed) I got tired of working 80 hours + one week and laid off the next.. so I joined the navy.. Spent my 21st birthday on the Battleship New Jersey.. Got out, honorable discharge, went to college on the GI-Bill, because an editor of a Dog magazine..More than one way to handle your situation.
While you are standing in a line..come up with an idea, like Starbucks, so you can hire people like you.
Unions have destroyed many a company.....I don't blame them for not wanting that kind of trouble. Starbucks has a fair compensation plan. If you don't think so, work somewhere else.
Exactly. Most of these unions care more about contributing to political campaigns then benefiting workers now, anyway. Many of the reasons that unions were created are no longer valid due to various labor laws passed over the years, so only specialized unions really make sense nowadays, like the Teamsters or United Steelworkers.

"I’ve had countless people reach out saying that my account was the last push they needed to finally get out of their bad jobs. "I’m very grateful I’ve been able to help facilitate that for them."
Contract workers have almost no rights yet do the work of regular employees in most cases. It’s mostly a scam. This person is a boss who will always have people begging to be on this team in the future.
The US economy is accompanied by a brainwashing of believing that success is always possible if you work hard and that any failure is the result of your own weakness including a microscopic salary which is therefore not worthy of being increased: just work harder. But I think fewer and fewer people are fooled by that cult.
Low-wage people saying not to tax the rich because they imagine they, too, will be rich any moment now.

*is complete accurate. There, fixed it for you. And OP clearly doesn't understand how the economy works. How embarrassing.
Yup lol. And, it's not just the US. It seems these people think they are "already there" to feel the "pinch". But actually they would be the benefactors. Hence, I've concluded over years of (painful) observation, people will vote against their own interests with the right propaganda,
Putting the dividing line at $40,000 tells me you're rich but, we certainly admire your Marxist benevolence.
The economy being destroyed is not the issue. People not being capable of living on $40k worth of resources is the problem
So if the price of eggs goes up, they charge more for them. If the price of gas goes up, it costs more. If the price of health insurance goes up the company charges more for services. So yes increases in spending are accompanied with increases in pricing. Increase wages will increase pricing. This is so they can year over year show increases in profit, so they can payout to shareholders, so their stocks increase in price, so people will buy their stocks. It is a vicious circle and until greed, profits, stocks are addressed there will be no meaningful increase in wages.
Except that wages have been pretty much stalled since the 90s while the cost of living has increased.
Load More Replies...What difference does it make if salaries go up or not? Minimum wage should be a comfortable living wage, regardless of what other sectors earn.
Load More Replies...And the same people who gripe like crazy about the "welfare state" turn a blind eye when these companies ask for government assistance (tax breaks, subsidies, etc.).
I don't think it is turning a blind eye as it is more about being intentionally blinded with knowing what our government is doing to give big payouts to companies. NO ONE is telling us what our gov is doing, who is getting gov money, and pretty much everything else.
Load More Replies...they need to raise the prices so their % of increase for this year is higher than last year, because GOBFORBID (yeah i meant to spell it that way) they ONLY make a 18% increase instead of 20%
This such an easy fix but it requires one thing that will never happen. It requires every person in the country to cooperate. STOP buying their product and they'll get the message real quick. Now before you go saying you have to have gas, that's fine. Week 1 buy from anyone you like except BP. Week 2, buy from anyone except BP and Exxon/Mobil. Week 3 add the next biggest to the list. You can bet by week 4 the rest are going to see where this is going and when they get gas down the real price it should be (about $1/gal) and no ethanol. Then start buying from the first one to hit the fair price and the rest will either follow or fall. But as long as people are lined up paying their extravagant prices, they'll simply keep going.
This is like when a wind storm knocks the oranges off the trees in Florida and the OJ companies moan that they have to raise OJ prices because of the fruits knocked off the trees. What they don't tell you is that OJ is made from fallen fruits. The ripe ones on the trees are only sold as full fruits. So all those fruits on the ground from the storm have created a huge profit windfall for the OJ company. And they've STILL raised the prices even though their production costs have plummeted in the short term.
Again.....stop shopping in these places. Folks, these companies succeed ONLY IF THE MARKET CONTIUES TO PAY THE PRICE THEY ASK. Vote with your money. Make your own coffee for a month!! Make your own lunch!! You should not be eating at McDonalds anyway..
Don't confuse our desire for their products, our desire to work for them, their ability to overwork those who do, and their skill to cut cost where they should probably not.
*Low-skilled workers are insanely entitled, wanting high wages to do a job poorly that an untrained high school kid would do just as well, or a trained monkey. Either way.
Lazar noted that for decades, employees have been viewed as expendable: "Just an unfortunate but necessary costly line item that affects a company’s bottom line and takes a chunk of the profits away from shareholders. I think the pandemic is changing that. Not necessarily in the viewpoint of said companies—their end-all and legal allegiances lie strictly with shareholders—but within the employees themselves."
Chances are, you've already heard of the term the Great Resignation which describes the mass exodus of employees leaving their jobs after Covid broke out. Nearly 69 million people quit, were laid off, or were discharged in the US last year, with 47.4 million walking away from their jobs voluntarily. Workers started looking for better opportunities, finding themselves at an advantage in this tight labor market.
Colorado legalized weed. Our schools are still broke. Govts steal money and lose it.
This 100%. They get everyone to vote it in with fake promises of its uses (the revenue) then pocket it. You'd think people would learn when they lied about lottery. "Oh the lottery profits will pay for education and this and that." then you look and see that very little of the billions raked in on lottery, actually goes to education. Our kids should be eating f*****g Ribeye steaks every day, decent food at least.
Load More Replies...We did that 1st bit in Canada, so yay? Plot twist; its actually pretty bad weed, people were hospitalized at the start because government weed wasnt flushed properly or had mold in it and people ended up with horrible infections. Sooo legacy (illegal) market is where its at; same product from before legalization and I know my money is going to small businesses and locals who need it.
It's like Dutch historian Rutger Bregman talking about tax avoidance told the audience at Davos: "It feels like I’m at a firefighters conference and no one’s allowed to speak about water."
The problem is that taxes are only for those who cannot affort to hire an accountant to tell them exactly where the loopholes are, and how to go right to the line in order to exploit them. It is a mess due to the arms race between the government trying to earn some money and coorporations trying to find a way not to pay. The result is that when you grow big enough, you basically no longer pay tax, and therefore can outcompete the small "fools" who have to spend a portion of their profit on taxes. It the rules are becomming so complicated that normal people have a snowball's chance in hell doing it right without hirering an expensive accountant to do it for them.
This is so true. The "low cost" tax prep chains and volunteer tax preparers are not able to do anything but the simplest returns because they are unable to train people that deeply. I had to fix several relative's returns that one of the chains screwed up over the last few years. Years ago, Money magazine gave a hypothetical family's somewhat complex financial info to 50 different preparers and every resulting return was different in some way.

Hermit crabs are super cool little dudes. I had a couple for pets and it turns out they actually do really prefer those flashy painted shells. One of mine sized out of his and the smaller one moved into it. It was a little confusing when I noticed but also seemed super sweet.

If a manager cannot get necessary work done through an 8 hour day x 5 days a week, the manager should be replaced. Not one minute more.
I'd say it depends how often he get asked to come in on weekends. I mean EVERYONE loves their weekend, but they also love OVERTIME and MONEY. Unless the boss chronically abuses, this employee would just be an ass.
If this were to happen multiple times to me, I might just say “never. I quit.”
"People are fed up with decades of mistreatment and poverty wages and unless these corporations are willing to provide fair and equitable accommodations, they will have a hard time keeping people on staff," Lazar argued. "It’s a buyers’ market now. People know they have way more options than employers do and they are taking advantage of it."
"The pendulum has shifted in favor of the labor force, finally, and it’s incredible to see people rise up and capitalize on it. The landscape is changing."

Puritanical feelings? You have the factory assembly line jobs of the long ago past that set people into this belief. Even in school your desks were lined up in rows, pretraining you to believe you were part of that assembly line. We start work when the bell rings, go home when the bell rings. And the really sad part is that we have very few assembly line factories in this country anymore.
I don't think it has anything to do whatsoever with "puritanical" reasons. It is the elite, the overlords who instilled this way of thinking, this doctrine of labor. Read about how our learning institutions changed from their original form and who did it and why. This is about having little loyal workers who are used to working long hours and no days off.
Where I used to work, there are 24/7 shifts. One week you work Tuesday/Wednesday then off for two days. Back to work on Saturday/Sunday/Monday. So on and so forth. So on certain weeks you make less than 40 hours. And oh those days that you work, you bust your ass off for 12 hours EACH DAY that you work. Here’s the best part: if you call out, you’re automatically deducted 12 hours of sick time so you go through that faster than if you’re working a normal 8 hour days smh. They asked me if I want to be on that shift. I declined. Whoever thought it was a good idea has never had a problem looking for sitters that are willing to work for 13/14 hours. Or had their marriage and family life suffer bc the employees are basically living at work.
You could do your best and barely get rewarded, but do your best on a badly managed project and you're treated like you're the one running the company into the ground.
Happens at schools too-- many teachers have kids who complete assignments early do MORE assignments.
Yep. I was in the "enrichment" program. I remember one time I'm doing a project about Prairie dogs (??) while everybody else gets to have art class. Ok. That doesn't strike me as encouraging, but because I was such an overachieving people pleaser, I went along with it. Ugh. 🤦 I guess on the plus side, it meant having a block of time where it was just me with other like-minded kids.

This. This killed my work ethic and to this day I watch it rot. Maybe one day I'll find an employer who treats me right and pays me right. Till then I'll only be putting out 40% effort. I'm not showing my ability to be made into a workload dump.
I worked part-time at my mom’s office over a few summers a while back, but because I only came in when there was work to do(it’s complicated), I was in the system for minimum wage(so, $7.25/hr). I was so efficient that I could easily do the work of three people within the same amount of time, up to five or six if I really concentrated. I earned a reputation for it, but reputation doesn’t necessarily increase pay.
There more than few jerks in this case. The news orgs and Walgreens.
They do walk in and just take stuff at Walgreens, and other places. I'm surprised they aren't shot in the head in Texas and whereever else they strut around with a gun stuck in their pants....even so, the cost of all the cheap Walgreen s**t stolen probably adds up to the total cost of one Walgreen CEO's yacht. Or Bentley. Or whatever, you know what I mean.
Did you forget to add that the no one is stopping people from stealing any more? That people are now going into stores and just taking things and walking out without anyone stopping them. Maybe that is why there are 309 news stories.
According to Pew Research Center, feeling disrespected at work is one of the top reasons Americans quit their jobs last year. While it may seem that more companies are starting to carry the label of "toxic work environment", Lazar believes they have always been this way.
"It’s just the nature of the beast, at least here in the US. It’s how we’ve always operated. Only more recently, within the last 20 years or so, have we started seeing obscene disparities in wealth with top brass making 1000 times more than people at the bottom of the organization. This unbalance is a big part of why people are fed up. And companies are slowly responding."
You see, they realized that without knowledgeable and loyal staff, they are in a fine mess. "The better you treat your employees, the better they treat you, go figure. Employees can be brand advocates or your worst nightmare. Corporations need to act accordingly."
"More and more companies are starting to come around with higher wages and better benefits. It will take a while before the total soul-sucking corporate mantra dies if it ever does, but at least we’re starting to move in the right direction."
Then when someone with experience applies they say we can't hire that person, they'll just leave after a couple years.
Nah the person with experience would be "overqualified"
Load More Replies...My favorite is when they want someone with experience in a specialized field, but you can't get hired because you have no experience because no one will hire you.
Exactly! An entry-level job by default means they will train you to do that job and all it entails. Then once you are fully functional on your own with no further need for training, you are NO LONGER entry-level and your salary needs to be raised accordingly otherwise we will take those new skills someplace else, where they will be compensated appropriately.
Also, how exactly do you expect people to have experience if you don't give them the chance to start and become experienced? People do not gain experience out of thin air, you have to put the work in to train and mentor.
Haven't bought anything Nestle since the 70s when they made poor starving babies dependent on free formula then took it away when mother's milk dried up. Then the mothers couldn't afford the price when it was no longer free. Starved and killed babies for profit.
You'ld have to boycott every corporation in America, most likely the world as this is the SOP for all of them. Those at the bottom that make money for the company get s**t on while those a the top make more and are nothing more than a dead expense on the company. No CEO anywhere deserves a dime over maybe $500K/yr in salary and bonuses (and that's being very generous, in reality $250K is a more realistic number) and no sports figure deserves a dime over $40K/yr including endorsements. Let them get a real job and see how long they last.
Constitutionally speaking, the act of taxing them does violate the representation clause and should therefore be declared unconstitutional.
If you follow the logic here....if you pay taxes you should be able to vote. Conversely, if you don't pay taxes you shouldn't be able to vote. Hmm...that might be a good thing. I mean, if don't you have skin in the game why should you be able to play?
If you do this though, you would need to create a way for kids under 18 to have the wages held over a certain amount. Especially for kids who are high paid actors and performers.
Why would we hold their wages if they earned it, that is WORSE
Load More Replies...16 and 17 yo get taxed (Canada) but being part-time they wouldn't reach the minimum to be taxed and would get everything returned. See it like a saving account.
Those under 18 in the USA can claim exemption from IRS and state income taxes. The other withholdings are for their eventual/potential benefit (Medicare, SS, unemployment).
However, shining a light on these issues might help bring change. "I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t," the creator said. "Movements don’t take place in the darkness. And labor is having one hell of a movement right now. It takes people talking about these issues for them to ever sort themselves out. Silence in this regard is not a virtue."
Lazar stressed the importance of people understanding their worth. "Work relationships are like any personal relationship. If there isn’t balance, mutual respect, and understanding then it’s a toxic relationship and no one wins."
Teaching is the worst paid profession for the amount of work you have (including emotional labour).
Yeah, raising a kid is hard work, raising a couple of kids can be exhausting, dealing with 20+ of them at a time, where the parents of some of them has done nothing to teach them some mannors, I can't even imagine. Lumber, paper, meat, metals, water, energy, gas, transportation, produce, you name it. Somewhere down the line someone is living in luxury without a care and laughing at us minions.
A big part of the reason why the price for everything is increasing is because the shipping costs for those things has increased because - you guessed it - the price of oil keeps increasing (not due to the cost of inputs or anything, but simply to increase the profits).

Uhh why are people downvoting the Atero dude. Those are facts albeit not covering the entire picture on wages vs. inflation. Wealth is a pyramid, always has been. If it was a plateau like some idealists think, we as a species, wouldn't have progressed at all. The pyramid could be less steep granted, but a pyramid nonetheless. Would you be satisfied working a strictly regulated skilled job but being paid the same as someone mowing lawns? If not, then you're also supporting the pyramid. It's not about which job is more valuable, it's also about how much you need to sacrifice to do said job.
nobody says everyone has to be paid the same. But if you're in a skilled regulated role, and you think the guy mowing lawns is your enemy because he might make the same, then you're looking in the wrong direction for the villain.

That place is so hard to work for. There is no sitting or leaning allowed and the amount of food waste is disgusting.
Looking at this as an Australian, I am horrified that Americans think this is a good offer. Entry-level full time in Australia pays about $24/hour (that's in AUD, about $18 USD) with 4 weeks paid time off per year. And overtime ranges from +25% to +150% depending on if it's late night, early morning, or weekend shifts.
I love Buc-ees. I have one just down the road. The people are nice, the bathrooms are spotless and the gas is way cheaper than any where else.
One of the biggest reasons I quit working for a certain armored truck company. I had a family emergency and gave them 2 hours notice that I wasn't coming in. I had to make the decision to pull the plug for my uncle since I was NOK. Then a month later I had to go to ER because of my gallbladder. Manager called not to ask if I was OK, but if it was under 30 days since I called out last because of my uncle. Only called to see if she could write me up.
You have no basis for knowing or even assuming any of this. Talk about "B.S. lies". Any yes, you worked with many whose lives were in turmoil. But could that be because they worked with you?

Tell her to not limit herself to the local area. Many companies are learning the value of employees working from home and are hiring great talent from across the country. She may live in the Midwest, but she can look for work anywhere these days.
This is called discrimination and your wife is an idiot if she doesn't sue their pants off. Flat out illegal
I had a boss that told me I should get married when I complained about my .10 cent an hour raise.
She should tell her manager that it then is her luck that she has a husband that makes good money and can afford her living while she seeks a new job where she is payed her worth. It is a tough gamle that that manager is in for, and he risk loosing his best worker on that account. People who are good at what they are doing should not settle and accept being exploited. They are what keeps a company a float, and in the poorly run companies, a single worker can be the difference between prosperity and bankruptcy.
My wife had been basically doing her boss's job until he quit. She applied for the job and was turned down. She quit. She managed one of six support teams for the rest of the company. Her's was the best run by far. The heads of all the departments told management that they had made a mistake by letting her go. But the old boys network prevailed.
Exactly, people downvoted you because they can't imagine a situation where the woman on the phone was a entitled dumb boss.. instead of what everyone imagined her to be a smart employee defying someone dumb. Depends on the context folks.

I never personalised my desk at work in case I just walked out one day and never came back. And I did just that. The only thing I did leave was my computer password which was particularly obscene and I’m sure they had fun reading that.
I filled in at a lab on a contract basis. Former employee was 'let go', before he was set free, he managed to password protect most of his files. hahahahaha!

This reminds me of my former employer who, after cancelling the yearly (relatively small) summer party and almost cancelling the christmas party, went ahead and swapped our christmas bonus (in the form of a gift package or something of the sort) for a bottle of 3 euro water from a brand they owned.
Yeah the nurser here who had worked their asses of during the Covid pandemic, and have put their own health at risk for their job was gifted a heart shaped honney cake in apriciation of the love they put into their job and saving the country. No need to say that many of them got rather offended by this cheap gesture, which in no mean compensated for all the time they had sped away from their families working themself to exhaustion. Such "gestures" are worse than nothing, and it was followed by a strike in order to get a better payment.

It helps make up for substantially less than a living wage... Our Christmas gift was usually$200 items that people try to sell to make up the difference . Last year it was an additional 10% off on one purchase and a single pack of candles that we sell for$4... we all joked that it's too keep you warm when your power gets cut.
In today's job market, employees are increasingly prioritizing their wellbeing over settling for hostile work environments.
A recent incident highlighted how crucial the creation of a supportive workplace environment is to retaining top talent. When workers feel valued, they are more likely to stay and contribute positively, thus benefiting both themselves and their companies.

Instead of just quitting, people need to have a long talk with their employer/supervisor telling them exactly how they have disappointed you over and over again. Make it a reverse interview where you calmly explain why you have sought employment elsewhere in full detail, and then before you walk out, tell them they are fired from your employment
There is no point. I've worked with people like these when I was younger. They aren't going to care either way. They are just there to show their bosses they've done their jobs. Whether doing said job properly is another thing. This means, keeping overheads low, with the least headcount but producing adequate results. It doesn't matter if they aren't retaining talent or maintaining some kind of operations succession. These people are just unfit to manage a bucket of dung let alone other human beings.

Imo, only the military and hospitals should have ANY right to dictate what you do to adorn your fleshprison. Starbucks, walmart, f*****g trucking companies need not apply. I don't give a f**k how the person looks when they're driving a truck full of Wagon Wheels to my local Walmart. Did they deliver the goods without issue? Yes? That's literally all we need. That's it. It's not only scaling the punishment up. It's also about how prosecution make their case. In my past, I've dealt with these people. Some of them are pure scum. They want to make their case and their career, they don't mind kicking a man that's already down. This is why you see news of some poor m**o getting 20 for stealing some bread and some bigshot banker gets 24 months at a country club jail. The banker can afford to not be made someone's career stepping stone while the other dude can't.
As if it is not screwed up enough that the homeless man is sentenced harder for a far smaller crime, the CEO will effectively be making $57,000,000/month by doing nothing in jail. That is a "job" I will gladly do for that "salary".

Do you require them to be present and active as part of their job description? Then yes, you should be paying them.
I interviewed with Air Canada a few years ago, they offered me the job. After finding out how much they get paid, and how little they actually get in terms of "perks" I declined. Its actually an incredibly demanding job that is horribly degrading, demeaning and you dont even get compensated for it.
Thy should be paid the second they get in the airport, until they exit wherever they flew to.
Yep, same goes for pilots only being payed for the time in the air. Especially for the short haul flights the planning phase can be a significant portion of the time spend on getting the plane safely from A to B. You have to check out the weather conditons, do all sorts of calculations to make sure you have fuel and runway enough to take off and get all the way to your destination, and file a flightplan etc. and you have to show up at the airport with a good margin, to make sure that you do not miss your own flight.
As soon as they get to the airport, they should be on the clock and paid.
To be honest a porn company also has more money to spend that academia

That's no surprise. Teachers have been heavily abused during the pandemic, thrown in online teaching with little resources and often zero preparation, putting even more unpaid time than before, all while paid shitty wages. I personally know a bunch of people who have quit teaching in the past two years. And many more of us are planning on doing so. Good luck finding people to educate your kids. It pisses me off so much that employers expect their workers to essentially be their slaves. That they don't respect that their employees have lives outside of their jobs, and that those lives come first, especially on their off days. So? According to my pension fund statement I'll need to be working at least up to 78 y.o. in order to get 3/4 of my current salary. Retiring at 65 would give me 1/3 in a best case scenario. Therefor my plan is to never retire... :/
