290 Touching Tributes To Late Carrie Fisher By Artists Around The World
"No matter how I go, I want it reported that I drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra." The world lost another star with the passing of Carrie Fisher, best known for her role of Princess Leia in Star Wars. The 60-year-old died this Tuesday after suffering a heart attack four days earlier.
She was not only an iconic female figure in media, one of the earliest strong female characters that young girls everywhere looked up to, she was also an advocate for mental health, sharing her own story of dealing with depression and addictions and in doing so, giving a voice to those struggling with these issues.
We've decided to make an open list from the artistic tributes to Carrie that have been popping up all over internet. You can pay your respects by submitting your artwork too. May the force be with you always, Carrie Fisher.

Dear Sir. Thank you for this very nice depiction pf how Carrie Fisher must be like in heaven. I was wondering if I can bother you for a small favor. My family had suffered a loss recently too when my Dad passed away just this past December 10. He was extremely close to my 3 year old daughter, Ina, and it has been really difficult and heartbreaking trying to explain to her where her grandfather has gone. I was hoping that a cartoon like what you did here for Ms. Fisher would help Ina in having a picture of where her grandfather has gone and that he is happy where he is now. Thank you very much. - Erwin Yamsuan from Manila, Philippines d

My favorite...many seem to forget that the Star Wars universe lost R2D2/Kenny Baker as well this year.
We also lost Erik Bauersfeld, the actor who played Admiral Ackbar.
Load More Replies...Took me a while to find the actual artist since people keep cutting off his signature but here he is https://www.instagram.com/vadelate/
Thanks for that, I was able to post to my FB page with the link because of you! I was definitely not going to do it without giving the artist credit. **shakes fist at writer of article**
Load More Replies...This is the one. I've used the line a few dozen times, and seeing it turned around kills me.
I like this one, too. Gary is as much a part of her life as Leia was.
She was a hero both on and off screen. RIP Carrie Fisher-you've earned your wings!
I think this one is my favorite... I appreciate her more as a feminist and writer than I did as a princess.
This is who she was. A real person with a black dog. R.I.P. Carrie Fisher.
What a beautiful double portrait. Carrie, you are already missed but you will carry on in the timeless Star Wars movies where you will be remembered over and over again. We have lost an American icon... Our lost is heaven's gain! I hope you are experience peace in the most beautiful way ever. We love you and always will.
I believe this is pretty much what's going 'up there' right now. Yes. :-)
The best funeral I ever went to ,everyone was cracking up laughing from anecdotes. Laughter is the best way to celebrate a well lived life!
That movie is how many know her as a person and was a large part of her life. Get over it
Load More Replies...Neil Degrasse Tyson says that everything in the Universe is made up of "star stuff". Carrie Fisher is with the stars.
Quite beautiful. It's almost as Carrie Fisher is looking back at the Earth before passing on.
Since were all pretty much stardust anyway, this one is very fitting. Nicely done!
No, it's Everything loves you, Princess.
Load More Replies...portrait with the other star wars actor we lost this year. it's not fair to take two of them
oh ! it's based on the little girl with her teddy bear in The Rescuers !
James Hance just had a way of capturing emotions in images - perfect
Yoda leading Princess Leia. Both characters have died, therefore it's relevant.
Load More Replies...Of all the tributes I've seen, this one made me tear up...and I don't know why. :'(
I hadn't yet allowed my tears to fall for the loss of someone who was such a part of my childhood (life) until I saw this picture. Rest in Peace Carrie. You are loved forever and will be missed more than you could ever know.
Please tag the artist. This is an artwork by Kerby Rosanes (@kerbyrosanes on IG)
This is very "Cinematic" Sergei :'D - and yes, it would make for a tear-jerker of an end for Episode VIII or IX. This was a tribute thinking outside the box, I think this captures how many of us feel, Carrie/Leia, you are now one with the force (I could add more but I think the painting says it all) . . . . :').
It looks like Leia between the guys - who is that bun-wearing chickie?
The struggles she had, this may have been how she felt through too much of it. :(
Nice. Kicking a person when they're down. He stated a conversation innocently, and then they attack him. Perhaps the next thing he would have said was something like, "She grew into a strong woman who faced her own battles on and off the screen. She is to be admired for everything she's done." Calling a person a negative name just because they view something different from you is belittling someone's feelings.
There's no arrack. Herbie knows he's a geek, and identifies as such. I guess WORKING DAZE is the kind of strip where it really helps to know the characters. They're not interchangeable. Sue can be acerbic and cynical. They're all feeling down, she means no insult, and she only wants to emphasize that there was more to Carrie Fisher, and she would like to remind him of that.
Load More Replies...If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. (Obi Wan to Darth Vader. Not sure of the exact words.)
Exactly. It's nice to remember the good and not the bad.
Load More Replies...This reminds me of a Sesame Street episode in the episode it’s based off of Star Wars and Luke and Leia are at a restaurant and they have to make Luke pick up two cinnamon buns and put them on Her head
Wonderful work done by so many people but this fly over has to be my favorite.
Oh boy . . . As a Warbird fan since I was a kid, drawing planes (and Hot Rods). And then in 1977 as a 14 year old, engulfing my world in Star Wars and adapting all I had taught myself the years before, into the world of Sci-Fi/Fantasy and becoming a Conceptual Designer - how appropriate a tribute but a fly-by for the General :').
Joel, there are a lot of wonderful pieces in this collection, but yours struck my soul. "The missing man." -- it's perfect. Thank you so much.
Yes death. You just really have to do your job at a great time. 😖 Mind you, the drawing is fantastic .😘
She's now peaceful in a galaxy she once protected. May the force be forever with you Carrie Fisher.
She's looking down from the stars, smiling, hugging Kenny Baker, finally free to wander the galaxy <3
One would think it would be harder when you live to 900... just consider how many of the ones around him have gone just during his natural aging process, let alone during the Jedi purge.
Load More Replies...Kenny Baker, the man inside of the R2 unit passed away this year as well.
Load More Replies...There was a freaking funeral add on top of this picture!! Oh my God 😰😰😰😰😰
I think it means she vanished into the force like obi wan did!! 😥😪
Princess Vespa wears them in Spaceballs as a nod to Star Wars and Leia.
Lemmy's first anniversary today. Very appropriate. Gonna be one hell of a shindig
Thank you, Scott :)
Load More Replies...Danke dir! Grüße aus NRW
Load More Replies...You are totally right -he should be connected too.
Load More Replies...I think they did that so she wouldn't really be flipping us off.

You only change colour of sword from this one 🤔https://www.boredpanda.com/she-will-always-be-royalty-to-me/
Carrie Fisher was (or should we say she'll always be?) a beloved actress. Everybody thinks of her mainly as princess Leia; nevertheless, there are other characters by her that were both hilarious and unforgettable: in '30 Rock' as Rosemary Howard, Liz Lemon's -Tiny Fey- brilliant but nuts heroine, in 'Scream 3' as Bianca Burnette, and in 'The Burbs', among other titles. You can enjoy her here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQL6_NbLwtk, where she's amazing along with Parker Posey. No doubt we'll miss you tons, Carrie :'( <3 <3 <3
People, Carrie isn't just princess Leah. She was so much more to the world, and yet the highest ranks photos here were all Star Wars based
Carrie Fisher acted in more than EIGHTY films. She was a producer, author, and mental health advocate. Can we get past her Princess Leia role and pay her true tribute?
I will always remember her in When Harry Met Sally saying "he's not going to leave her....he's never going to leave her. You're right, you're right. I know you're right"
My tribute!

Anyone else wonder what she'd think about being remembered/ depicted not just as Leia but as the dual-buns Leia? I like the one that is her and her dog as it pays tribute to the woman and not the character she played. Still if not for that character I'd not be as choked up over this. Too soon and too unexpected. Will be hard to watch episode 8 knowing that's the last we'll see of her performances.
