We don't consider it fair. It's really difficult to do anything about when the s****y party that abuses this system keeps getting elected because they abuse this system. You have to take it to court. And, even worse, our Presidential election can result in the winner of the popular losing because the electoral college is a completely outdated system but, again, it's usually the only way one s****y party can win so it'll never change.

*We* don't consider it fair. And neither do the Politicians. The difference is that *they* see the unfairness as a Feature, not a Bug, and they fight like Hell to *keep* it unfair.

Nobody considers it to be fair. People who do it or approve of it know they're being unfair, but they don't care about that.

It is not fair but the unfairness is just now being fully recognized and dealt with. The old system was the districts were "redrawn" every 10 years (to coincide with the latest census results). The most common method was to have the political party in control at the time be responsible for redrawing the districts. This concept became more and more corrupt and in recent times there have been more and more lawsuits. I live in the U.S. State of Michigan. Our state voted for and passed an amendment requiring the group that redraws the districts must be essentially 1/3 from one party, 1/3 from the other party and 1/3 from people who are confirmed to be not affiliated with either party. It's new but seems to be working ok so far.

The Republicans have turned politics into religion. They demand blind faith and anyone who disagrees is literally evil trying to destroy the country and morals. No joke. Its messed up. My family won't talk to me because I believe we should take care of the environment (like responsible farming).

We don't think it's fair. Which is why there is a huge history of groups of people seeking to fight for a more equitable voting system

It depends if you're Blue or Red. Most Reds are White Christians who think they have a divine right to rule over the majority. Blues know it is absolutely unfair.

A political party gathers voter info, then redistricts the area so that 1 side is always in a minority and loses a vote. Republicans are very notorious for this, but both sides are guilty to a degree. The lower income and minorities are mostly taken advantage of, and it leads to the disparity of their vote "not mattering"... which then leads to worse and worse voter turnout.

Nobody in their right mind in this country thinks it's "fair", we just have a very rabid group of conservative rulers who are not above cheating.

Like other's have said here, it's not fair and we do hate it. It's terrible but it's really hard to change for many, many different reasons but ultimately they just don't have to care about the voters because they cheated their way around that inconvenience and have a lot of sympathetic judges that will rule that it just doesn't violate our laws.

It’s not fair in the slightest bit. And it makes it far more difficult to change the laws and voting districts because so much of the country is gerrymandered.

We don't. As a matter of fact, some of us would say that this we are not a democracy; rather, we are an oligarchy run by powerful corporations and the wealthiest of the wealthy. Corporations donate millions of dollars to politicians' campaign funds; the politicians vote on laws directly involving these corporations. Pharmaceutical companies are included in this unholy union, and our citizens suffer. The wealthy don't pay their fair share of taxes. The overwhelming majority of our lawmakers are wealthy. A great number of us are too busy trying to keep a roof over our heads, food on the table, and adequate health care to pay attention to the political shell games. Others feel hopeless, helpless, or defeated. I'm sure there is a significant number of people who feel satisfied with the status quo. I just don't know any.

Bud, New York, Illinois, and Wisconsin are almost all red, except the big cities. Somehow blue still won all those states.
