Meet Narnia, A Rare Two Faced Cat
Narnia is stunning and aptly names. I wonder if he is a chimera?
This kitty is amazing. I just went to that reddit page - I can't believe the rules they laid out for it. There's a list of threatening commandments. If they don't like your post for any reason they can ban you from the site. Why would anyone post there? I guess people create throw away accounts and take their chances, but why bother?

The first time we were shown actual footage from the liberation of concentration camps in school was when I was around ten. It was very effective in turning us into peace loving individuals. But, that was during the 1960s, nowadays the parents would probably have fits.

They're already being forgotten, some schools won't teach it. Some groups dispute it ever happened. We have to make sure it is never forgotten.

This is an amazing idea! and it is not very unsanitary if they were put in the recycling..library books are honestly probably dirtier
Lots of reasons. Maybe they're outdated textbooks or guidebooks. Maybe it's on a subject no one cares about. Maybe it's simple oversaturation. I've gone digging through the bins at thrift store outlets, the last stop before the dump, and let me tell you there are about a million Danielle Steel, James Patterson, and John Grisham novels floating around. Moderator MaxLemon told Bored Panda that even though the subreddit gets lots of content, it's not so terribly expansive that moderating is impossible.
"Essentially, we utilize the AutoModerator function to highlight key words and phrases as well as post types. Then we hand review those highlights and either approve or remove said postings. AutoModerator only highlights about 5-10% of the posts in a queue of 100 per page, however, and so the majority of the work is going through manual reports and making a judgement call on whether or not something follows our community guidelines."
According to MaxLemon, sometimes the moderating tasks are pretty easy. "Like if there's a poorly written title, if there's text on an image, or if it's obviously spam. In other cases, you have to act like a detective and build a picture of why something got reported or if the user who is being reported is genuine," they explained that the moderators' job can get pretty hectic at times.

People act like this is the worst time ever, but that's untrue on almost every single measure imaginable. We've come a ridiculously long way with rights for all in the blink of a eye, considering we've been humans for over 100,000 years. Most of the change has come in the last 150 years.
Men could also not vote for most of the years before. Democracy is a recent societal invention, and with all its faults and shortcomings, it is (probably) the best system ever tried and tested by humans.

Wait, you mean that shampoo is just... shampoo? I don't need thirty kinds to choose from? Oh 2020 you just keep ruining things
There is a store here in Indianapolis that used to do this. They also have dispenser for olive oil, vegetable oil, and other kitchen staples. However, because of COVID, they had to shut down the dispensers. Many stores no longer allow us to bring our own bags in the stores now and that upsets me. I understand the virus, I wear a mask, I am not a "hoaxer" or anti-masker, I just miss being able to provide my own bags and containers so I don't generate so much waste.
You also have the option of shampoo in solid form. I only buy that and it's homemade with really good quality ingredients from a family business in my country. I'm sure you can find some high quality brands around you instead of buying bottles and liquids made of artificials stuffs :)
"It should be no surprise that with a subreddit as large as ours that there is always an attempt to advertise from a third party or scam the users and so part of our work is rooting out those false people, countering their spam tactics, etc."
We also wanted to find out MaxLemon's opinion about where the line between something that's "just" interesting and intersting AF lies. "The line is hard to define, to be honest, and it definitely varies by moderator. If the same thing was posted multiple times on our subreddit, it's no longer interesting AF, much less interesting. If it feels like it fits more on /r/mildyinteresting, then it's not iaf."

Like the moderators of the subreddit say, their community is meant for “almost anything” that people find incredibly interesting. And with that kind of content, it’s no surprise that people have been flooding in since 2008 (yup, the subreddit has been online for over 12 staggering years!).
The size of the subreddit is absolutely shocking. So much so that the team curating the content that makes its way to the front page of the subreddit has some help from automated moderators to help keep everything flowing nicely. Two of the mods are AIs: AutoModerator and BotDefense. It only makes sense to enlist their help when your community has boomed to such an extent. Let’s just hope that the AI mods don’t turn against their fellow redditors.

Tom Vanderbilt, author of ‘You May Also Like,’ spoke with ‘The Atlantic’s’ Julie Beck about why people like things. According to him, our taste (i.e. our likes and dislikes) is humanity’s way of ordering information and filtering the world.
Taste is also a form of social learning that has turned into a way of figuring out what activities and things are linked to prestige. In other words, if someone we respect likes something or finds something interesting, then you’d better bet your bottom dollar that we’ll instinctively want to check it out.
“There’s no silver bullet theory for explaining anyone's taste. It's always a mixture of exposure, of culture, of a person's personality. And none of these are particularly static or fixed. The nice thing about tastes is that they are subject to change. We can kind of always be reinventing them and reinventing ourselves a little bit,” Vanderbilt said.

John Thompson Was Home Alone When He Had Both His Arms Ripped Off In A Farming Accident. However, He Still Managed To Get Up And Dial For Help Via Holding A Pencil In His Mouth. He Survived And Both His Arms Were Reattached
First time I heard about this and I‘m really amazed. There are many people who overcame serious traumas, but he sounds like such a downright good-hearted soul. Apparently, he went to sit in the bathtub so he wouldn’t stain his mother‘s carpet, and when his aunt and cousin rushed over, he begged his aunt to keep his cousin out so the girl wouldn‘t need to see his injuries. Also worried about his dad blaming himself while they were waiting for the ambulance. I truly wish that man all the best.

The cousin had to start a chain of calls to summon a volunteer ambulance from 13 miles away. In the meantime, the guy laid in the bath tub so he wouldn't make more of a mess on the carpet! He was apparently lucid enough when the ambulance arrived to direct them where to find his arms and pack them in ice! He's apparently now able to even drive a car. Amazing.

About 100,000 People Take To The Streets Of Warsaw Poland To Oppose Tightened Abortion Law
Initially a Women’s Strike that was gradually joined by anyone, of any profession, denomination, any ideological inclination who wished to protest against the new anti-abortion act, against the oppression of women and the LGBT community, against the arrogance and financial scams of the ultra right government in Poland, against the cover-ups of the pedophilia scandals in church. It’s still going on, but nothing is changing for us.
(1) In case anyone makes anti-abortion comments: pro-choice isn't about the unborn children. It's about women's reproductive rights. Besides, abortion can't be murder if the embryo is not developed and born. It is essentially a clump of cells. Anyways, passing a law that legalizes abortion doesn't mean that women are going to be "killing babies" left and right. It means that we have a choice. For many years, women weren't allowed to decide for themselves. The fact that we aren't allowed to do what we want with our body, in the 21st century, is an astounding and stupid fact. If you use the excuse "abortion is murder" then you must think that a clump of cells is equivalent to a breathing human. It is not. If you aren't a woman, you don't have the right to control our bodies. If you don't have a uterus, then stop yapping about anti-abortion laws since you don't know what it's like to give birth. Giving birth can scar a person, both emotionally and physically.
(2) I repeat: if you don't have a uterus, then why are you making laws that prevent a woman from doing what she wants to with her body? If you don't have a uterus then f*ck off. It's totally cool if you support pro-choice (let's go!!). But men shouldn't be making laws about women's bodies. It should be us women, not them. Men don't own us, no one owns us. #prochoice
Load More Replies...This may get some hate but I feel like abortion should just be a women's choice I don't think men should be involved in the decision making, because its the women's body.

They look like ants! God this world is so grossly overpopulated. And yet selfish humans keep having babies.
Honestly, after watching protests all over the place here in Brazil... Those are hit and miss, largely depending on government. In many of them, barely anything is done or changed, the protests evolve to encompass too many things, loses direction and either dissipates or turns into a civil war. There are places that have results and many where protesting is desperately needed, but... I'm strongly divided about it, is all. They are often either minor inconveniences to those in power or making an unpopular opinion seem stronger. /rant
On the one hand I agree completely - on the other hand I am SO concerned about social distancing at these events. I even think that some governments are trying to take advantage of necessary restrictions to push through unpopular legislation..

"Ripped" is an interesting choice of word. A chimp could literally rip your arm off.

The mother looks amazingly calm, considering. Miracle baby.
Load More Replies...Ok, 1 pun: That baby sure came into this world w/ a bang! LOL 2nd: Did you guys notice that the mother's bed has the actual window frame surrounding it??? Like, it barely missed her! Also, pun 2: What a pane-ful delivery! Ok, I'm done! LOL
The doctor is covered in blood, could he have been hit by the window frame? And then still helped deliver the baby? Hero doc for sure either way.

I really hope the parents and doctors are okay, especially the mother. This experience woud certainly be traumatic.
This makes me want to weep. The sheer inhumanity that can be shown by man against man, alongside the hope and innocence of a newborn. Bless this family.

Finally Got My Prosthetics In!
This is the kind of thing I want to make with my 3D printer one day..they look great :)
I love that prosthetics are now so cool to show off. My aunt lost an arm many years ago and back then they weren't 'useable' and were only made to give the 'look' of the missing part of the arm. She only wore hers if she was going somewhere fancy. Sadly war has lead to the advances in prosthetics and the widespread acceptability of having one ie their coolness. It's good, but for the saddest reasons..
Congratulations! I'd like to see what you can do once you're used to them. No end of new things to master!

Haha i live in Australia and actually had snow covered Kangaroos in my back paddock, they have very thick coats though.
People from Australia.. please don't think I'm stupid but do kangaroos just roam where ever or are the contained. Like could you be walking down your drive way and see one chillin? Please answer!!! Lol
It depends where you live. They don’t just roam the streets (not often anyway) as they usually hang in large pods. They live in paddocks, in forests, farm lands etc. Sadly due to land clearing for houses more and more kangaroos are being seen in some suburban areas whereas they were mainly seen in semi-rural to rural areas. The closest kangaroos to me are about a 20min drive away. You do need to be careful on the roads specifically from dusk til dawn coz that is when kangaroos are most active.

The True Scale Of Michelangelo's David
This is why Florence cancelled the commission of the matching statue of Goliath. Probably.
Interesting fact: ‘David’ inspired Jim Morrison to style his hair the same way. I’ve seen ‘David’ and it is magnificent, I recommend anyone that loves art, architecture etc to visit Florence (Firenze). Also, there’s been criticism that the hands are too large, however the statue was originally meant to be placed on top of Florence Cathedral, therefore the hands would appear to be normal from that perspective. Another interesting observation is that from below ‘David’ looks calm and prepared. However, if you look at his gaze at eye level you can see apprehension in his eyes.
This is also why the reproductions they sell look so out of proportion.

Nothing justifies a person to vandalize and loot others and businesses, especially businesses of other Blacks.

Design-wise, first definitely less cluttered. Safety-wise, chances of a "blue screen" seem high in 2020 ("have you tried turning it off and on again?" hm)...
