There's nothing like a good blast from the past. There was a time when technology had not taken over yet and we'd spend most of our days outside, playing until the street lights came on. Then we'd come back home, listen to cassettes, and watch our favorite movies on videotapes. There's nostalgia in reminiscing about how things used to be, and that's exactly what we're here to do - rekindle those memories.

The Twitter account 'I Love Nostalgia' brings back the golden eras - the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, and even the '00s. Whether you lived through those times or have only heard stories from your elders, the posts in this account will feel strangely familiar. Remember to upvote the ones that make you yearn to hop on a time machine the most.

We've reached out to Ian Wright, the admin of 'I love Nostalgia' and here's what he had to say about his love for the golden eras: "I’d love to go back to the 80s because it was such a simpler more fun time. Plus, I was ages 8-18 which are very impressionable years! There was more freedom to do and say what you wanted. We were free to do and think many things without today’s pressures."

He also mentioned a few memorable events that reminds him most of the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s. For example, In the 1960s, the world was swaying to The Beatles' tunes, and mini-skirts were all the rage. Transitioning into the '70s, warm tones of brown and yellow painted the era. Evel Knievel's toy motorcycles raced into our hearts, while flares and big collars defined fashion. The 1980s brought the mind-bending Rubik's Cube, along with vibrant neon fashion. Ghetto blasters boomed, and the Commodore 64 sparked the digital age. The 1990s saw the rise of Tamagotchis, while homes resonated with the melodies of elegant HiFi music systems. Chatrooms on clunky PCs marked the Internet's early days. As the 2000s dawned, iPods revolutionized music, and MP3 sharing took flight. Meanwhile, mobile phones transformed into sleek and indispensable companions.

The members of the account surely love a nostalgic throwback into the golden eras of the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, and '00s. Here's why: nostalgia is a sentimental longing for the past, often linked to positive memories. It brings comfort during tough times. However, it can also create bittersweet feelings, making us yearn for better days.

After giving it a push, I couldn't jump on; instead, I was dragged around clinging onto the bar for dear life. Everyone was yelling to let go. I can't remember if I let go or it was stopped, but I do know my knees and my pride bore the brunt of it. PS This was when I was a child, not now as an adult!

These are safer than the one at our local park. It's a plastic round dome with seats in the middle and NOTHING to hold onto. So kids run around the outside of it holding the side (only way to get it spinning)then they fall and get trampled by the kids running behind them. Or toddlers try to climb on or get off while it's spinning. So dangerous and stupid and impractical

Nostalgia was first mentioned in 1688 by Swiss physician Johannes Hofer. Initially, it was believed to be a neurological illness. According to psychologist and author Arlin Cuncic, "It was not until the 19th century that nostalgia began to be seen as a positive sentiment, rather than a pathological condition. Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, for example, saw nostalgia as a way of reconnecting with our past and understanding our present. For Jung, nostalgia was a way to access the "collective unconscious"—the shared history and experiences that we all have as human beings."

Nostalgia comes in three categories: personal, social, and cultural. Personal reminiscences relate to memories of specific people or events in one's life. Social recollections are tied to memories of feeling more connected to others, while cultural remembrances involve memories of feeling more connected to one's culture.

I once passed out stoned on my couch listening to Pink Floyd, woke up to the Good Morning Vietnam- Soundtrack and it took me wayyyy to long to figure out that the CD had changed. So yes, I am probably this old.

Nostalgia offers a range of benefits, including boosting one's mood and increasing self-esteem. Studies have shown that it can provide a sense of social support and aid in coping with challenging life transitions like divorce, retirement, and loss. Cuncic thinks that, "Nostalgia can also have positive effects on physical health. For example, nostalgia has been shown to boost immune function and reduce stress levels. Nostalgia can also help to increase life satisfaction and reduce anxiety."

My 64 year classic doesn't even have these. It has side screens that clip on, with a sliding window. Our most modern car (10 years old) still has the old fashioned hinged rear windows like the original Mini.

My kids know. My 2017 car is manual windows, lock, and transmission. My now 11 year old calls it "an old fashioned, new sports car" 🤣. After having all residences automatic windows in my last car not work right for the last few years, I wasn't taking that chance again.

However, nostalgia can also have negative effects. For instance, it might lead to a sense of loneliness and isolation, cause people to excessively dwell on the past, and become dissatisfied with the present, making them less likely to take action in their current circumstances. The good thing is that there are a few tactics on how to avoid negative nostalgia. For example, you can try focusing on the present and doing things that make you happy. Spend time with loved ones and talk about positive memories. If needed, seek support from a therapist and be mindful of dwelling too much on the past.

There are many examples of nostalgia in popular cultures, like Whitney Houston's song 'I will always love you'. It tells the story of a woman leaving her lover but promising to always love him. The touching lyrics and beautiful melody have made it one of the most beloved love songs ever.

Another example is the classic film 'It's a Wonderful Life', often thought to be one of the most nostalgic movies of all time. It tells the story of George Bailey who considers suicide on Christmas Eve. An angel appears and shows him how different life would be if he had never been born, leading George to appreciate his life. The movie's sentimental portrayal of small-town life in the early 20th century has made it a holiday classic.

When I was a senior in high school, a bunch of dumbass guys in my class broke into the library and trashed it. They tipped over the bookcases and tossed the contents of the card catalogs all over the place. They spray painted the class year on the walls and were stupid enough to brag about it. I think they should have been expelled, but instead they weren't allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Friend of mine claimed that the colors all smelled different, and said he could identify them blindfolded. We challenged him, and gave him 17 crayons to smell, agreeing beforehand that he wouldn't have to be specific: Seafoam Green could just be green, etc. He missed every single one. Never even came close to getting any right. We made him wear a crayon suspended from each nostril for the rest of the evening, and forever afterwards, called him by various crayon colors. "Hey! Blue Violet! Are you coming or aren't you?" "Mustard has a girlfriend!" "Hey! Where's Burnt Umber's burger?"

Oh my god yes. When I was little and we were visiting my grandparents, we'd sometimes go to this big playground somewhere in the area that had slides like this one and HUGE tanden swings where all the seats were organized in a row (in front of each other, not next to) so you could swing with like 8 people in tandem. Crazy, and crazy fun.

When I started doing that ridiculous curl, my left handed mom wasn't having it. We spent many evenings unlearning what the right handed teachers allowed left handed kids to do. Sitting at the kitchen table with a big chief tablet and a pencil the diameter of your thumb practicing writing with your hand positioned in the mirror image of right handlers. Now, years later, my daily use pen is a fountain pen. I never get ink or pencil lead on my hand. My handwriting has never been as nice as hers... from either hand. When she was young they just tried to beat left handedness out you. So she ended up with flawless handwriting and you couldn't tell which hand produced it. This is one of a thousand things I should have thanked her better for. She died recently and my list of things I should have said or done is never going to get shorter now

We just had a giant rope attached to the 20 ft. Ceiling in one corner of the gym. Once a year every student had to climb the rope to the top. Coach always put a 4 inch thick pad at the bottom in case of falls so everything was fine. Interestingly I don’t remember anyone ever falling.

Indoor climbing frame. They are hinged to the wall at on end and have a wheel at the other so you can drag them round to right angles with the wall. Never saw them used, suspect teachers terrified of injuries.

I actually have one that I found mixed in with a bunch if c**p at a junk shop. I bought that bundle of cràp just for the spoon. I feel like I should put it on a pedestal and display it as art. Honestly, analogue music really was better. MP3s are massively compressed, and you do lose some of the music quality. The trade off, of course, is being able to fit masses of them on a small device, or stream them quickly.

I caught some tadpoles one spring as a kid when I was like 7 or something, I made the mistake of telling the teacher, so I had to give updates to the entire class on how they were growing so we could learn about it :/

Yeah, and my mum emptied the whole jar down the sink to 'clean the jar'. I spent years as a kid checking the drain outside to see if I could spot them (and possible catch them) as they passed through. I refuse to believe that I'd missed them lol

Keychain photo viewer. The very small photo was glued inside on the white end, you held it up to a light source and looked through the lens at the small end to see the photo. They were very popular in the 60s and 70s. I still have some with my school photos in them.

My dad is the one who bought me all my contraband "for boys" toys XD I still have my Cringer toy! I admit that I loved the He-Man franchise so much that, even today at the age of 41, I occasionally wear t-shirts with He-Man and Skeletor on them. One of my favorite pieces of clothing is a pair of cargo shorts with a patch of Skeletor on them. The patch is in a heart shape and says "Live, Laugh, Love" with Skeletor doing his trademark "MYAAAH" laugh XD

I’m older, had had older parents to boot. When my father was born, the US was finally sending troops to fight in WWI. My mother was only three years younger than him. She died when she was 80. He died when he was 95. If they were still alive now, they’d be 106 and 103, respectively. I’m 62.

It looks like the car is parked on the front driveway of what might be a castle/mansion owned by an old family/noble family. If their estate is large and old enough, some of their ancestors may have been buried on the property - the estate would have had a set-aside graveyard for family members - instead of being buried in a cemetery. So, yes, it IS a graveyard, but probably isn't a public one XD Or I'm totally wrong and that's a church in the background and it IS a normal graveyard - and whoever took the photo thought it was a rad backdrop for a gullwing Lambo XD
