39 Hoarder Cats Who Don’t Realize That They Have Problems
Cats always seem to be cool and composed, but they can be just as neurotic as we are – some cats, like the ones in this list, are hoarders, and will collect piles of useless junk in their owners' homes!
Collecting food is a natural strategy, but scientists are still unsure of why cats hoard useless stuff like toys, bottle caps or milk rings. Some believe that they consider these toys to be like prey, while others believe that they gather these items the way they'd gather their own kittens.
Why do you think they do it? Let us know in the comments, and submit your own cat-hoard photos!

I Found My Cat's Stash
One of our cats is always stealing our hair bands too. It won’t touch regular rubber bands though. Best part was when he was a kitten he would take them & put them in the toilet! I was so confused about why I kept finding them in the toilet until I saw him in action one day. Now he just shoves them under our rug.
I used to catsit for a week or two at a time. My client's cats always got into my travel case, specifically after my hair ties. I'd walk through the house and find them just lying around. On one job, she stole one of my hair ties so often, I just gave up and stopped taking it from her. It's hers now. I have sat there in several months, but I'm sure she's still practicing her french braids..
My cat can smell rubber bands. They can be a problem if swallowed so I always take them away.
these can kill a cat. they swallow them. this is not cute. put them away please
I had a cat that used to eat them! I was left with not a single one to tie my hair!!
My cats must have a similar stash, cause my hair ties are always missing.

My daughters cat is a hoarder, collects hair accessories, bottle caps, straws
Load More Replies...I love the photos, so funny... My cat is now over the Rainbow Bridge but he used to love to pinch the toothpaste tubes, when I found them they had little holes in them from his teeth, he must have loved the taste... lol.
I think a lot of that stuff was just put out for the cat to play with and it got under the furniture where the cat couldn't get it.
My cat hoards shiny pieces of plastic (packaging plastic) INSIDE the couch. We couldn’t figure out where he was getting all the plastic from because we would take it away when we saw him with it so he doesn’t eat it.
These pics are cute; however, I would never let my cat play with some of these things, example: hair ties, bottle caps from soda, milk bottle ties, etc. These are very dangerous to cats that's why I am so careful with my Lola. They could easily choke on these small items. Please be careful.
It's nice to see that my Lily isn't the only cat with a sock fettish Lily-and-t...66a739.jpg
What we learned from this: cats can put their "toys" under couches/furniture and be unable to retrieve them AND apparently cleaning your house is overrated when you see how many "toys" people find under their furniture.
out of 6 , I have one cat who is a hoarder, she keeps her stash under the bed.....her favorite is to steel my Moms slippers who lives next door
I think finding junk under your couch is evidence of things rolling under the couch. I always find stuff under my bed and couch and the cat isn't responsible for any of it. She does take cuddly toys and jewelry and moves them from room to room. No stash. Meanwhile I had a mouse (the cat brought it in alive) that made it's home in a kitchen cupboard. When I found it's home it was filled with plastic bags he'd 'shredded and caps and other small sparkly items he'd stolen from my home! This was a mouse and I can only assume he took these things for decoration. Animals do get possessive about stuff but they have little chance in the wild to gather man made items.
no, it clearly is the cat's work, otherwise the same objects wouldnt be appearing
