That only white people can be racist.
ANYONE can be racist except young children who are born without bias.
I wish all people were born (and stayed) like that
Load More Replies...GOD I HATE THIS ONE. I have had people tell me I am racist based solely on the fact I am white and I find it offensive. The irony was palpable given it was a racist black person telling me that. Don't know me, don't know the loving relationship I have with my black grandchildren, I didn't say anything racist - just -- "oh, you white? then you are a racist"
Technically true, but most uphold the same system which keeps the black folx down.
You are aware that there are many races other than 'black' aren't you? Racism is not limited to 'black folks'. Jews probably face the most racism (and have done for a long time) but look how successful they are - why hasnt racism kept them down?
Load More Replies...AND that you cant be racist to white people, i get that its kinda rare but still true. and to asians, you can be racist to asians yknow how many times ive been called a bomber before? a lot
Racism still exists as strongly as it does BECAUSE of the racists that exist within each of the skin color groups. And it's not only to others of a different skin color. Some of them will actually turn against those within their own group who aren't living their lives according to what is considered "normal".
I know a black lady from Dominican Republic who was absolutely furious that a family from Nigeria moved into her road. Said she would never have moved there if she had known they were moving in. I felt liked I was in the twilight zone.

I agree! It's saddening to know that the once-popular superstition that black cats bring bad luck has caused harm to these beautiful creatures. Fortunately in modern times, many no longer hold this belief with the same seriousness. While some may still consider black cats a sign of bad luck, many consider them just another cat with no devious meaning.
All cats are stupidly devious in some way, just not in the âblack cats being bad luckâ way
Load More Replies...Nowadays people don't want black cats because they are hard to photograph.

That being woke is bad. The way that word has been manipulated into an insult is frustrating. How can being aware of the systemic and institutionalized racism be a negative thing anywhere? Nope! Just sweep it all under the rug! For shame!
This absolutely ridiculous attack on "woke" ideology is how you know they are DESPERATELY trying to fight the wave of people waking up and realizing (and getting educated on) what tf is really going on.
No...see the issue that many people have is that certain people invoke the word "woke" and think it makes them immune to criticism, while simultaneously refuting any factual information....that they just don't like. An example? The latest fixation is the notion that you can be "healthy at any size" All the evidence based research proving, time and time again that idea is nonsense? Well that's just because everyone has been "conditioned" to believe it. It's a conspiracy! All cops are evil, all white people are racist, all men are toxic, and every problem in your life is the result of capitalism. Actors are monsters for taking certain roles, and being _____ is automatically a justification, or excuse for any and all situations. An endless stream of outrage, as if the entire outside world exists only to aggravate, insult and offend you, specifically. Being critical of YOU and your opinion is not the same as being against _______.
Load More Replies...Politicians and talking heads take nebulous concepts such as this and turn it to their benefit. It's much simpler for them to control a group and get them frothing for conflict if the group doesn't have to think about what's going on or the ramifications of any actions associated with it. Basically it's used as a method to keep people ignorant or stupid.
The biggest problem with "woke" is that that person tends to only listen to and accept those with similar viewpoints.
Yah, it's a real pisser how woke people won't listen to and accept racists.
Load More Replies...Woke is outta control because people have misunderstood the meaning. No reasonable person wants to live in a world with racism and sexism. Some of these fvcks are utilising this positive in negative ways.
I just resd a good article about how the right is very good at taking poisitive words ( woke, critical race theory, liberal ) and making them slurs. The reason why i didnt say " great article" is the author kept using the word " messaging" and i would use " propaganda". Make no mistake, what is happenning in Florida is the same thing our teachers told us Russia was like during the Cold War. And woke is about ANY injustice, not just racism.
Speaking of Florida... a drag queen changed her name to Rhonda Santis. Laughed so hard when I heard that and I still chuckle when I think about it.
Load More Replies...Racism is bad. Sexism is bad. Homophobia is bad. Being woke just recognizes these facts. Why should society tolerate hatefulness?
Load More Replies...Same goes for Feminism... some bad eggs and the whole movement and Feminists get attacked
I would say that what we call 'woke' is about important topics and questions. However, many woke people are populist and think only black and white, they are splitting, they are rarely self-reflective so they can't achieve anything but marginalize people who have different opinions or dare to raise questions.
That Christians are either stuck-up or hypocrites. Some are, but everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. (The Christians Iâm around are really nice, kind, and accepting people.)
There are great people, good people, mediocre people, bad people in ANY group of people. The problem is that the bad ones are the ones who get the attention.
Yes to this. People need to differentiate from the group of Christians who hold prejudice over a certain topic, to the group who is accepting like the ones you mentioned.
The problem I've seen through my life is that the christians who differentiate as you mention are often far quieter than those whose prejudices get voiced around the world. When the group that differentiates voice is as loud or louder than the voice of the prejudiced I'll start painting each group with a different brush. Until then, they're all getting painted the same in my book.
Load More Replies...Christian is such a broad spectrum term. I differentiate between Christians (people who follow the teachings of Jesus Christ - be loving, show forgiveness, be accepting of others) and Biblists (people who find Bible passages in the Bible to justify any viewpoint
That fact that you stereotype Christians as people who follow the teaching of Jesus (be loving, show forgiveness, be accepting of others) is your first mistake. Catholics hardly show forgiveness concerning things like divorce, are hardly accepting of others concerning contraception etc. This is a stereotype that bothers me!
Load More Replies...THIS! Iâm a Christian, and people think I will shove it in their face or act all high-and-mighty. Obviously I would be overjoyed if everyone was a Christian, but most other religions feel the same, wanting everyone to be part of it. Doesnât mean weâll force it though
It sucks that you feel this has become the stereotype. Just be a good example that's all you can do
Load More Replies...You have to admit when Christians support a sexual assaulting, racist, con man for president that you can't blame people for having that perception. The silence from the so-called " really nice kind and accepting people" definitely did not help change that perception. It might help if they stayed out of people's bedrooms and doctors offices.
I think thatâs because most of the bad Christians are voicing their anger online while the ones I know are actively trying to help. Just literally yesterday I was at my church supporting an organization to help stop human trafficking and help the victims recover from it

Well, ALL stereotypes suck. Wait. Did I just stereotype stereotypes. Ack! The one that drives me crazy right now is the generational garbage: boomer, genx, millenial, etc.
When I was about 35, the new girl who was about 19 proudly announced that her generation was the best because they had the internet, iPods, iPhones etc, it was difficult to get her to understand they were created by generations before she was even an itch in her daddyâs pantsâŠapparently it was Mr Zuckerberg that invented the internet, whoâd of thunk it
Yes. They need to know that the Internet was actually invented when Zuck wasn't even a lustful urge...

Pitties were once known as the "Nanny" dog just 50 years ago. As a dog groomer & rescuer, I have NEVER been bitten by a pitbull! I was however, Mauled in the face by a Cocker Spanial! Unprovoked attack...he was happy 1 second and the next, attacked me and shredded my face! Still grooming dogs, didn't deter me đđ
I have had small to large dogs, all types of breeds, my entire life. I have never been bitten by any of them. All my dog bites have been from (edit: other people's) small, spoiled, untrained dogs. Purse chihuahuas and other pampered toy dogs account for every single bite I have suffered.
Load More Replies...I use to have a Pitbull mix and I can say that they are lovable and usually sweet. I agree with this submission.
They used to be called nanny dogs because of how gentle they are with kids...it's now because of humans and their disgusting dog fight rings they're deemed aggressive. My pit/boxer was amazing with my babies and I miss him every day (passed away)
My Cousins who are very young have a Pitbull and people kept telling my aunt to get rid of him. In response, my aunt sent a picture of her 1 year old sleeping on the dog and it being unbothered.
I don't judge dogs. I judge the owners and how they train them. I've been nipped at by a small-ish dog. I'm wary of any dog I come across in a respectful way. I know pitbulls are not the threat lawmakers have made them out to be, but I do know they have the most fatalities of dog attacks because of their powerful bite. Even then, attacks are not the most common of any other dogs.
Right. You may be surprised at the fact that most dog bites are from cocker spanials/cocker spanial mixes, Pomeranians, lhasa apso, basically dogs under 30 pounds. Now this does not mean that all small dogs bite. Just certain individuals, coincidentally due to some stupid a$$ human/humans, seems like majority of small dogs. I've groomed so many Sweet cockers, Pomeranians, etc...it's hard for me to believe when I do get bit.

The only thing following "all teenagers..." should be "...are human beings aged 13 to 19 years old." I know some exceptionally smart teenagers, and on the other hand, some who would lose a battle of wits with a small stone.
Oh, I hate this one! And just thinking that they're lazy and just play video games and party all day and night. Some teens might do that but my sister never ever did that, neither did her friends
Ah, video gamers. Some of them are very sharp players who could kick anyone's a*s at CoD. I've watched some players online. Not sure how they're able to see the tiny markers of their opponents or know who's on their side so quickly. Teens seem lazy because they get tired about as much as toddlers do, and I would say naps are essential to them. Resting is not being unproductive.
Load More Replies...I read this and think about that Asian show with toddlers doing errands. I do worry about kids being protected to much in USA.
Load More Replies...Broadly speaking? Yeah, most of them are. They're not fully formed, overly emotional creatures with zero life experience and little to no concept of anything that existed before they were born, and no capacity to plan further than 6 months in the future. Take a look at all the teens and 20 something (who've been parroting the statement for 10 years) saying "this is the worst time EVER for "insert demographic here" It's not. Doesn't even matter which demographic you fill in, it's not and it's not even close, and it's not a debatable point because there are people alive who have lived through the worse times. Quantify it as ignorance, or simply lack of experience....where stupid comes in is when so many teenagers pretend those things aren't even relevant. For instance....The number of young people that think capitalism is evil, and everyone would be much better off adopting communism.
That all "Boomers" (people in a certain age group) are too senile to operate a smart phone, have no idea what younger people are doing, don't know how to decorate their homes, are hogging their money and jobs for themselves. You know, you see those lists of how dumb we are everywhere. We are none of those things.
Boomers are simply people born in the years following WW2 when soldiers returning to their wives/girlfriends resulted in a "baby boom." I'm a boomer, born in the 1950s. When I retired from work I left a career in IT support. I'm current in events, music and social media. "Boomer" is not an insult, it's an age group.
You're right, it shouldn't be an insult.
Load More Replies...I'm Gen X and I get this too. Apparently, X does not exist and we are lumped in with Boomers. It's annoying and I hate that companies (f*****g AARP) keep perpetuating this stereotype of older people. One part of this stereotype I find really hilarious is how old and feeble we supposedly are, yet it seems half the Zoomer's are obese and can't make up a few flights of stairs. I have blown past them repeatedly on my commute from the train, and I'm carrying a mountain bike and have a backpack.
What about that everyone born during a certain period is exactly the same? It's stupid to try to categorise everyone like this.
As a matter of numbers, there are far more people of the younger generations within society who are actively screwing those within their own or other generations in the same way they all blame the boomers for. It's just easier for them to scapegoat a group whose representation is dwindling.
I'm 75, have had smartphones for 20+ years and still do computer work part-time for our County Assessor.
My boss recently made a disparaging remark about boomers not knowing/being comfortable with tech, and I couldn't stop myself from interjecting with, "Yeah, like that Bill Gates guy. What does he know? He's so OLD!" Folks, my age group have been working with tech for decades! And we still apply for jobs, etc. And we know it's important to save money. I refuse to apologize for learning life lessons over the decades I've been alive.
Many boomers aren't like that, but it's bold of you to speak for your whole generation. The stereotype is there for a reason...and isn't the claim that 'we none of us are' just a stereotype in the opposite direction?
Ah, you see what I did there! Yes, you are correct. Not all people are the same regardless of their generation. I, for one, am not like that, and the stereotypes about old people really annoy me.
Load More Replies...I think it depends on the place on the boomer age range as to how they act.
Not so. I'm at the leading edge of the Boomer generation and so are some others here that are still engaged; working, exercising, traveling, benefiting the economy. It depends on the person, not their age.

All the goats I've met have been fine critters. Even those that butted me. 8-)
Surely it's the other way round - devil imagery resembles goats. Because goats are real and the devil isn't, so the imagery must be based on goats. (Yes, yes, "the greatest trick the devil ever pulled", very good)
Yeah my sister takes care of goats at her parents house and they are so sweet (i am adopted just to clarify)

That anyone who is diagnosed as psychotic is a dangerous 'nutter' who is out to kill everyone and they should all be locked away in a psychiatric hospital. Psychosis means you experience things that others do not (such as hearing voices, smelling strange odours or seeing unusual people) and can be very upsetting. However, with therapy and medications most of us live happy, productive lives and do not need to spend time in secure hospital settings. If we ever do need to be hospitalised, it is often because we are exhibiting behaviour that is likely to harm ourselves, not others.
I don't have psychosis but I have experienced similar symptoms in the past, I also have pretty bad anxiety/depression. The only times Iâve ever been hospitalized is when I tried to harm/kill myself. I never could even bear the thought of hurting someone else. Luckily Iâm doing a lot better now, for the most part.
I'm autistic, therefore instantly Iâm a pariah according to neurotypical people (the majority). My wife has a crisis team (Police/Paramedics) arranged to come and help me immediately. That ignorant assumption is completely dismissive of people with chemical/hormonal imbalances, eating disorders, disabilities, and autoimmune diseases, and is too often weaponized against women.
And that being overweight=being unhealthy while being skinny=being healthy. I know so many people with a skinny body that eat junk food all the time, but they judge overweight people and claim they only judge them for being unhealthy, when in reality, the only difference is that they have a higher metabolism. Junk food is moderation is ok, but to actually be healthy, you have to eat healthy. Not to mention, this whole societal obsession with being thin has greatly contributed to eating disorders, and there is nothing healthy about those.

"Asian" is an extremely large blanket. Russians/Indians/Chinese are all technically Asian. While I might be able to discern between a white Russian (no pun intended) and a native of India, I'm less likely to identify a single/lone person of a specific race (if that's the right word). I may be able to discern Korean from Chinese from Japanese and still incorrectly identify country of origin.
As a white person, I know better than to guess an Asian identity. Even if I think the name might be Chinese, they could be from Taiwan. It's like a POC looking at a white person and trying to guess where their ancestors came from.

Load More Replies...that being an addict makes you a bad person.
Being an addict doesn't make you a bad person, but it often makes you behave like a bad person. Once the addiction is under control, one's natural personality can come out. The problem with addiction if often that the addiction is the most important thing, so one behaves like a a pathological narcissist. The addict may not be an inherently bad person, but the damage they cause is the same. Addiction is not fair. So many times (most/all the time?) there are reasons people become addicts (or narcissists), things that are not their fault/that they didn't deserve, but ultimately that doesn't truly excuse their bad behavior. "The past is not your fault, but it is your responsibility." Gotta deal with your past so it stops f*****g up your present...
My ex was/is an addict, and I've know other addicts. I would say another stereotype is that an addict is always after the next fix before their high is over, or trying to get their vices every few hours. When really there can be days and perhaps weeks before they get it again. They may be in the worst moods, but some addicts try really hard to have some control and focus on priorities. And sometimes they'll let it consume them. Addicts may not actually be aware how addicted they are. Not every addict is addicted to one thing, either. There could be a multitude of things, good or bad, they may turn to.
Itâs true though. Someone can be addicted to something and that doesnât make them a bad person. Sure, there might be bad people who are addicted to things, but there are plenty of bad people who ARENâT addicted to things eitherâŠ
Two of my best friends died of Heroin overdoses. They were amazing artists. Depression and bad decisions were their demise. Don't blame the addict, blame the drug. That and existential pain are components.
I'm a teacher in the UK. It is so important to understand the difference between bad behaviour and a bad child. Even more important is the understanding that the "bad child" has issues (probably but not certainly) at home that cause them to make bad choices. I knew a kid who needed to be restrained to stop them hitting other children. We eventually realised that he wanted physical contact (a hug) and the only way he knew to get that was by attacking another child sohe could be restrained. His behaviour was in order to to get restrained, which was the closest thing he got to a hug at all. Very sad home life.
Who would say this? That's like saying diabetics are bad people! Also addiction is so complicated. Many addicts go undiagnosed, keeping their addiction below the radar. Some are addicts because of their horrible circumstances and need something to cope. Think about kids who are forced to sell themselves huffing paint thinner. Are they bad people?
That lesbians hate men. Iâve never hated men and have included them amongst my close friends (gay and straight). I just donât click with them on a sexual level and I LOVE women.

Stereotypes can be like pesky flies, buzzing around and irritating our thoughts. One stereotype that truly gets under my skin is the notion of "Alpha males.". I find myself cringing at the oversimplified idea of what an "Alpha male" should be. It's as if we're stuck in a time loop, unable to move beyond traditional notions of dominance and assertiveness as the only indicators of strength. Even more irritating, this stereotype ignores the complex human qualities that play a role in effective leadership. Leadership is more than having the loudest presence or exhibiting authority. It embraces empathy, resilience, and the ability to foster collaborationâtraits that anyone, regardless of gender, can possess and leverage to make a meaningful impact.
I feel like alpha male is very much a thing, just not the thing self professed alpha males think it is. By that I mean I have known people who were great natural leaders who didn't claim to be alphas and then there are the people claiming to be alphas who seem to just be pretentious douchebags who are not good leaders. So let the 'alphas' keep sharing their red flag with the world so the rest of us know to avoid them. When I was in school (long long ago in a galaxy far away - lol ) nobody used the term alpha male but we had a couple who fit the general profile.
No matter your gender at least attempt to be kind to everyone. We all deserve love except for Nathaniel he has no tact and is insensitive.

(Whenever people see a young dad with his kids people think he's working like a dog, doing all the sacrificing and a "hero" for sticking around.) But this is what I've heard: "Teen/young adult moms don't raise their kids. They make the grandparents raise them." "Young moms are all irresponsible." "She got pregnant because she flirts too much. Look at how she dresses. That's definitely how she became a mom at young age." "Ugh. Look at her with that kid. Sponging off the taxpayers while we work." Being a young mom, myself, and having been around many other mothers and fathers of all ages, I cannot speak for everyone. Everyone is an individual, who became pregnant when they did. Not every teen mom is so irresponsible, a high school drop out nor pawning their kids off to their parents. And not every older 30/40/50 something parent is super responsible, has it made and not having a bunch of people watch their kids while they go out to clubs and bars. Even now that I'm older, my daughter has grown, I get the question of how old I am and how old my daughter is, because they think we're sisters or friends. Then they want to know how old I had her. If it's not co-workers asking, people want to know where I work, if I work, how much I make, make the assumption I got a GED after asking if I finished High School. (I completed Grade 12 with diploma and enough credits.) They also want to ask about my daughter's dad, if he's still around, paid child support. Like, really invasive questions one wouldn't bother asking any other person. Although our parents definitely helped out and were supportive, we were the sole parents raising our daughter. I took her to all of her doctor, dentist, speech therapy, developmental, optometry, hearing appointments, parent teacher conference meetings and brought her to and from school, for most of the time. I've had people ask if I'm high, assume I do drugs, live off welfare or and party all the time. "People who work for minimum wage/low pay at an "unskilled" job did something wrong in their life if they're older than a teenager." "They are uneducated, High School drop outs and don't have any skills to contribute to a "real" career." People who mutter this drivel can f**k off. The fact there has to be minimum wage laws, and the government has to basically force employers to give their employees raises by raising the min. wage, says more about those companies than the personal lives of the employees. Oh, hey. Here's an idea. Have a chat with people and get to know them. You may be quite surprised how much in common you have with someone, despite their financial levels.
When nosy people ask invasive questions like those mentioned above, the ideal answer is "Why do you want to know?" Usually shuts them down immediately.
Answering a question with a question is always a great tactic.
Load More Replies...I agree 1000%. There is so much hate crime towards woman, especially mothers and young mothers. My mom had me at 30. She was literally horrible. My friend had her kid at 15. She is one of the best moms I have ever seen. Her child is grown and doing wonderful.
Being a young parent especially if you are a single female is tough. Single dads are hero's with women waiting in line to date them and do his dirty work. Women do not enjoy this luxury because the standards for a male parent are low and also, the world hates women. It sucks, but it's true. People's first instinct with a single mother is disdain and if you are young they think you are incompetent. As far as the low wage earners goes, there are plenty of people with degrees working in the labor pool. Why? Because we are a nation of over educated idiots with no practical life skills. It's the lowly folks who make the world move and when we finally wake up and collectively revolt, those in power(govorporations) will be s******g their britches
They always blame the single mother bit at least she stayed. The father did not.
Society automatically figures the mother is the default at getting custody, regardless.

That young people donât/canât have medical issues. If someoneâs under the age of 25 or so, a lot of doctors tend to dismiss what they say because theyâre âyoung and donât have enough knowledge/wisdom yetâ. It really shouldnât be that way. You know your body the best, if something doesnât feel right you MUST keep at the doctor until you get the tests/procedures you need. Go for a second opinion at another doctorâs office if you have to as well.
Also that young people donât know their own bodies, and my favorite, are too young to know that they donât want children (yet they arenât too young to have children they donât want).
I hate this one too. There is no age limit to having a disability. Death or disabilities could come to any age.
I was just told I'm too young for a hip replacement. It's bone on bone now. I'm 52.
52 is not too young for proper medical care!

Wait until you get old and they consider everything just "part of aging". Something has to kill you right? And Medicare pays much less than commercial insurance so it isn't worth spending too much time on the problem. Best time to be sick is to be a man, during your prime working years, with great health insurance-they will pay attention to you then.
Oh yes... Not being taken seriously by doctors is one of the worst things.
That all furries are zoophiles/pedophiles, and think they are animals. There are a few more stereotypes that involve furries, but these ones bother me the most.
Zoophiles and furries are completely different things⊠one is someone who likes animals and dresses like one, and the other is someone who literally r@pes animals⊠not sure why or how this even became a stereotype. Thereâs nothing wrong with furries, but there definitely IS something wrong with zoophiles/pedophilesâŠ

Correction for my post: I didnât mean for it to be read as âfurries think theyâre animalsâ, sorry for the confusion! Itâs just that I hear lots of people say stuff like âpeople who wear cat/dog/wolf/bunny ears think theyâre animalsâ, and I was trying to say that liking an animal or dressing like it doesnât mean you ARE that animal. Again sorry for any misunderstanding this caused! Also thereâs nothing wrong with being a furry btw
I donât think furries think theyâre animals either. I may have just read this wrong though.
Sorry for any confusion, I didnât mean the post to be read like that, I meant it to mean that just because someone wears animal costumes doesnât mean theyâre an animal, I wasnât trying to say that furries think theyâre animals.

I don't need to watch cat videos. I prefer to watch my cats in real life.
Load More Replies...I think the Asian stereotype comes from the study ethic of the society. OP says they excel at classes because they study. But it is more likely that you study because you are Asian and the culture expects it. I know not "ALL" Asians any more than all anybody anything. It is never all. But what I am trying to say is a compliment from an American - that the Asian countries I have been to seem to be more responsible / adult about taking their education seriously. I honestly wish more American school children were this way.
That pretty people coast through life by virtue of their good looks/assumed sexuality. That stereotype often leads to tragic consequences for the pretty person, especially if theyâre female.
The way I look at it, looks will only get you so far for the average job. It has been said "pretty is boring" by Tyra Banks on America's Next Top Model. I have my own reservations on that show, but I will say she wasn't wrong there. Ever go through Instagram and see the same similar make up and hair looks, on very similar faces due to all the filters? Ever think to yourself "Again? Boring."? Or how about watching digital artists creating the same faces, with the same expressions and think "There's no variety". At some point, after so many people get inspired to copy the "pretty people/things" it all gets lost in an ocean of monotony and that one person you first saw will no longer strike you as memorable. ... I went completely off track in my head. Beauty is also suggestive. Pretty people are vulnerable to the jealous and insecure.
I think I have pretty eyes and good cheekbones but it is always my intellect and ease of speech that I rely on. What else do I really have if I've been hit by a bus and mangled?

Iâm Asian and Iâm TERRIBLE at anything to do with science. I never said I was smart. I work hard, but Iâm just not good at a lot of things. The amount of times Iâve heard âbut youâre Asian! You HAVE to be good at EVERYTHINGâ is astounding.

Load More Replies...As a white man, I find it strange the African-Americans are stereotyped as being obsessed with fried chicken and watermelons, and therefore they are stupid, because...reasons? I desperately need context for this one.
After the civil war watermelons were one of the first crops formerly enslaved people could grow and sell. The people who used to exploit them got angry about that and started making eating and selling them a negative to disparage the black people. Same thing with fried chicken, as a way to negatively view, and talk about something black people may have done. Every stereotype is pretty much meant to justify them being treated as a lesser person
Oh dear you have just reminded me that I have a watermelon in the fridge, and now I can hear it's siren song
the fried chicken one comes about because, before segregation ended, many restaurants would not serve Blacks. Any Black family making a road-trip would be wise to bring their own food along. Fried chicken keeps pretty well, travels well, tastes good cold, and was (and still is) relatively cheap. Therefore Black motorists would often be seen eating fried chicken at roadside picnic areas. And the stereotype is born.
Why the downvotes ? As a non American I am also intrigued by this association in (mean and derogatory) memes in the US where black people are supposed to love watermelon, fried chicken and be scared of ghosts
Iâm American and im intrigued by that too. Probably just because I live under a rock though and donât understand much.

I think a lot of people don't get that autism is a spectrum. Even more so now with the change in the DSM but even before. It isn't an "on / off" kind of thing. The spectrum word is getting used more these days so hopefully folks start to grok that every human is different.
My ex roommates son was six and autistic. I truly enjoyed my time with him. He had different understandings of things that I appreciated. We watched Vampirina on Disney together and he was so happy to watch and be in my company. His father neglected him and myself and another roommate raised that child for a year. I can't say I understand Autism but that child taught me so much about my perception and how to deal with the world.
Hmm ? It seems to me that people associate autism with the non verbal one, not the Rain man one (good movie btw).

My aunt has tattoos, but theyâre all meaningful to her. She is a therapist, not a delinquent
Sexism. Iâm a female vet. Iâve driven tanks. I have lived in the woods in a canvas tent and hung out in trenches in the dead of winter. Now Iâm a mold inspector and I crawl under houses and I actually chose my profession. A client calls and sets up an appointment and he thinks there might be a problem with his crawl space. At the end of the conversation I say so Iâll see you at 10 am tomorrow. âWait, what?â He says, youâre coming?!â . âIs there a problem?â I ask..âBut youâre a girl!â He emphatically replied..âAnd??!!â Seriously? What?
And what?!?! Girls are fully capable of inspecting mould!
I did mold remediation for two years and do not wish this on anyone despite their sex. We put ourselves in harms' way to make others healthier. That guy was a dikk.
Just because they're capable doesn't mean it's common. 76.3% of mold and moisture inspectors in the US are male. That's not a stereotype, that's just a fact. Just like 97% of bricklayers, 98.2% of electricians and 96.5% of firefighters are men. People are just as surprised when they encounter a male nurse, as they account for 12% of the profession. Nothing to do with ability, just commonality.
Maybe I should have added a little more context. He proceeded to tell me he needed someone to go under the house. I told him I understood and it was my job to go under the house and I planned on doing that very thing. He then added that I shouldn't, couldn't, wouldn't, etc because I'm a girl. It wasn't surprise. He legitimately questioned whether I was capable of doing so. I do understand where you are coming from and I appreciate the comment but after 15 years in the army of encountered enough sexism to recognize it.

I'm quite certain there's already a submission regarding this, and it can be seen at the top of the list. Nonetheless, I'll still give you an upvote because your statement remains accurate.
Any dogs can be aggressive
Ah DANGEE I forgot something- Pitbulls also are one of the dogs most often left as strays , so if your planning to adopt a dog adopt a pitbull (although I suggest having old children or none and no other pets )
As I commented on the other pit bull post-pits can be very sweet. The problem is that if the do attack, they do serious damage and can kill you. If a Jack Russel bites you, it sucks but itâs not a big deal. Almost every deadly dog attack is from a pit. I know rotties, and German Shepherd among others can be deadly-but ALL the other deadly dog attacks added up together are still less than attacks by Pit Bulls. I would never leave my kids around a pit, itâs not worth the risk. Statistics donât lie
Only when provoked would a pitbull react. I used to have two pitbull mix dogs that were kind and chill. While walking our dogs near a playground with my family, a child approached and bothered one of our dogs. Initially, he remained calm, but as the child persisted, he became defensive. My parents intervened quickly, and this incident unfolded in under a minute. The same principle applies to any dog â they are not aggressive unless provoked to defend themselves. In other words, avoid provoking any type of dog, as they will naturally become defensive due to their instincts.

Ooh I am a Christian and one that I have noticed is the fact that some people think that gay people, or people who identify themselves within the group of the lgbtqia+ are not allowed to come to church, I know there are tons of different churches, but at my church, personally we have never said that someone can't come in, sadly a couple years ago we had to cast someone out because he harmed people in the church, but that does not mean we were saying 'you cannot come in and worship God' if you are truly interested in knowing about the word of God or Jesus or anything, no one in our church is going to hold that against you, we don't care what you look like, we will happily share the word with you, sadly there are a lot of people who profess to be Christians and will be mean to other people who were raised in a different religion, raised a different way, who identify gay, bi, queer, etc,
It's the loudmouth, so-called Christian haters that make it tough for the real Christians.
They are undermining EVERYTHING these days...
Load More Replies...Or that everybody in the lgbtq+ are atheists. As a transgender queer man who was born, raised, and still is Catholic, I disagree
As an aroace girl who was raised and still is a Christian (and will maybe get a job in a church or Christian organization someday) I agree with you
Load More Replies...My church is what is called open and affirming, we tell everyone that all are welcome at the beginning of each service
You cast someone out? Jesus wouldn't do that. I'm not Christian, don't believe in the mythos and even I know that.
âBoys will be boysâ. Hate it when people say this, especially mothers of little boys.
It annoys me when people say this. Someoneâs gender should not excuse their behaviour. I really donât care if theyâre a boy, girl, non-binary, bigender, etc. All I care is that what they did isnât right.
đĄđĄđĄ
The âAngry Black Womanâ C**p. It doesnât need to be explained, just put an ism in front of it.
And why is it when women have a legit reason to be angry, men have a problem with it? when men get mad, they are made the CEO because they are assertive d***s. Most of them are also bat s**t crazy but when you have a penis, crazy is an asset.
I tend to love angry black women but your statement makes zero sense, Especially the "ism" in front bit that makes less sense, You should probably put Tyler Perry on trial for putting race relations back 200 years.
All autistic people are cisgender white males, good at math, socially awkward, and have a special interest in trains.
Huh?
I've seen about three movies and read a book that depicted an autistic male as the way OP described it. It's an annoying stereotype about autism
Load More Replies...Yeah, so many people on the spectrum often don't get a diagnosis or get misdiagnosed because of this.
As a gay man with a partner, people often ask whose the man and the woman. GTFO FFS.
I think this means something like who's the top and who's the bottom. I don't find it offensive as a person who is not 100% one way.
I find it very offensive. 2 men aren't women, and how we decide to have sex is none of thier business. It's like, "hi Betty! Does Howard chokke you out before coming?" I'd never ask that nor would I care to ask lol.
Load More Replies...The dumb, oafish husband trope. I mean, it's funny in cartoons and sitcoms, but most men I know are perfectly fine changing diapers, cooking dinner and functioning on their own.
Because changing diapers, loving our children and spouse is what we do as a husband and father, Anything less is a subhuman waste of space and should be avoided.
only if they vote democrat or are under 50 years old. Anyone who votes republican or is over 50 tends to be a check-shirt wearing gun-toting truck driving "i aint never changed no diaper in mah life" type.
That all Republicans in the USA are evil, stupid and are sheeple that binge on Kool-Aid. Its only the ones still living,,,,,,
Well, they really aren't. Where I live, it's the Democrats that get those labels. I wish we could except our differences and work past them.
Yes let's do that,,,,as soon as MAGATs admit that Mar-A-Lardo stole classified information and tried, in many ways, to stop the peaceful transfer of power.
Load More Replies...So true. I think most people in the US are very much middle of the road types, no matter what political party they are registered with. Politicians and Journalists tend to be much more extremist than most voters. And most voters have continued to choose "none of the above" by refusing to vote at all.
Jim Jones, a cult leader, fed cyanide laced Kool-Aid to his cult followers in South America. Read up on Jonestown before you post again. You insensitive cvnt. Quit mixing metaphors that you don't understand.
You are a pig. Is your mom a c nt, is your sister a c nt? How about your wife? Or daughter? You came into this world from your mother's c nt and then you spend the rest of your life trying to crawl back into one. What a man!
Load More Replies...That PTSD only happens to veterans
It can happen to literally anyone. Anyone can go through a traumatizing experience.
Every girl listening to kpop are stupid and obsessed stalkers. And the male fans are gay.
⊠I⊠kinda like K-pop⊠Iâm not a stalker
I spent 24 yrs in the military, both the Army and the Marines.... Stereotypes about the military You're only in the military because you're too dumb to get a real job... Everyone is brainwashed into unthinking obedience to any order... That we can't think for ourselves and that any situation not covered by orders or regulations will cause us to freeze up and not know what to do.... Everyone is trained to be a hair trigger killer.... That just being in the military somehow makes you a better person - more patriotic, pure, honest, and honorable - than anyone else.... That "military grade" or "Milspec" means it's super-duper quality, nope it means it was made by the lowest bidder.... there's so many more.
That spiritually oriented and/or psychically gifted people are all weird and kooky, draped in tie dyed outfits and dangly jewellery - as if all people like that are stupid and gullible, believing in ANYthing! (Influence of movies, I guess). Actually, we look pretty ordinary and have day jobs. We cop a lot of flak from people who class themselves as 'normal' because ignorance and fear is so widespread. Honestly, it's more acceptable to be gay than to come out as psychic. Yes, there are frauds but there are fraudulent types in every walk of life. Keep your head on straight, do research and use critical thinking when dealing with anybody you don't know or a subject you know nothing about.
A psychic is a person who claims to use extrasensory perception to identify information hidden from the normal senses, particularly involving telepathy or clairvoyance, or who performs acts that are apparently inexplicable by natural laws, such as psychokinesis or teleportation.
Load More Replies...except my last two partners were exactly that tie-dyed stereotype so there's that. small sample size admittedly.
You're either a fraud, or at the very best, severely deluded. Those are the only options, and both result in taking money from gullible, desperate people for personal gain. Every military on the planet spent years or decades trying to develop "psy-ops" solders. In every instance they found it to be nonsense. As has everyone else who has ever tested anyone making any such nonsense claim. It is so incredibly disheartening that anyone upvoted this.
All African Americans are the same color is false. I have had Egyptian descendant,American born friends. Also, south African descendant American born friends. Every Continent has multiple races and cultures somewhere. Everyone being different makes this earth interesting.
People forget that north of the Sahara Desert is part of Africa. Libya, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. These people are culturally closer to the Middle East. Africa is the 2nd largest continent by size and population. It has many different cultures, languages, and ethnicities
Africa has more genetic diversity than the rest of the world put together. scientific fact.
clothes = gender I cannot tell you how many times kids at school go "you have to dress in between to actually be nonbinary" bro stfu i dress how i want, both my bsfs are trans guys and one wears skirts so people say hes faking or not actually trans. the other is under the stress of trying to be so masc and feeling like he needs to act tough and be a man to be a man and he shuts his feelings away but really hes perfect the way he is and stereotypes are stupid
That Africans are ignorant and Africa is a shithole. Africa invented writing, geometry, architecture, probably wheels, fire, clothing, and math. The oldest buildings are in africa. The oldest calendars. The oldest traces of civilisation and religion. Please f**k off with the racism. You inherited culture from us. Then came back after learning stuff from the chinese (gunpowder) and from the muslims (steel), and destroyed our continent. It is YOUR (colonialists) fault that this place is disorganised.
Puppies are sOoOo much work! I have four month old old pupster and she can stay in her crate for nearly 3 hours! We can also take her on the trips to see my grandma (btw she is a golden retriever)
A lot of people assume that because I have autism, I couldn't possibly be smart enough to be in advanced placement classes. This leads to a lot of hassle about scheduling and it's kinda annoying
Hear me! Not all Greeks are gamers! I don't know where this stereotype of coming from, but for some reason, many people assume that Greeks are experts in technology and have awkward social skills! Greeks are a proud people with culture dating back to thousands of years for crying out loud!
Just downvote, they got some of that Greek Meth and are now an unreliable narrator.
Load More Replies...The only stereotype I've ever heard about Greeks is that they all own restaurants. But then, I'm pretty sure this post is a joke.
Probably OP misheard geeks as Greeks for this one (reasonable mistake if you've not heard it before)
Everyone who likes Harry Potter is transphobic. I absolutely despise J.K. Rowling but I still think she is a good author and I like Harry Potter.
that if you are german you are a nazi (it's also worse because i have blond hair and blue-grey eyes)
That blondes are dumb. I am one of the smartest students in my grade, and rarely fail homework assignments. I know this stereotype isn't used as much as it once was, but it's still used.
sometimes BP is weird like that and posts comments, posts, etc. multiple times tho
Load More Replies...All of them. Every single one. I mean yeah, SOMETIMES theyâre true but not all the time and it bothers me that people just group people based off of opinions
BP, can you censor this rambling, illiterate content? In reference to nothing and wasting all of our time.
The whole âtaco muncherâ or âborder hopperâ thing. Just stop. Itâs not funny. Coming from a half-mexican with a Mexican immigrant father/grandparents.
i am an identical twin so people think we like the same things and enjoy shaing every thing and it suck because we are not seen as two different people but as one person. so if 1 gets into trouble we both do. if my twin fails a college class i also get in to trouble. and we dont have names we are just called twin or twins. im 16 to put this into context.
sorry to hear. PS you won't be a virgin forever, I've never met one in my life over the age of 30. (a virgin)
Ridiculously negative assumptions (and nearly every movie portrayal) about Christians - from people who've likely never had a serious conversation with a genuine one. Also how casually people bash us without their statements/harshness being questioned.
I am a Gay man and was brought up as a christian. I soon realised that they despised who I am without knowing anything much about me. It works both ways.
That all Canadian people are politeâŠobviously people who think thatâs true havenât met people from Quebec, theyâre pretty rude.
I can vouch for that. French Canadians are ruder than actual French people. đ
That disabled people can't be independent. I've lost count of the number of times I've been told that there's absolutely no way I can live alone/work/go shopping on my own because I'm in a wheelchair.
That all blondes are dumb. My 2 sisters and I are natural blondes. Mom was a natural blonde of Scandinavian descent. My older sister is a concert level pianist with published CDs, she also was a body builder, contestant in the states Mrs. pageant. She has a PhD in Special Education. My younger sister is a retired PA with certification in infection control. I am just a retired RN and certified Case Manager. We all do, in fact, enjoy blonde jokes. And I love being able to play the blonde card at times. For example: getting an extra distributor cap with the wires, stalling my (older, much older) car in traffic. Getting out and grabbing the extra distributor cap from under the hood, tossing it aside, and driving off. Men as a rule freak out. I just say hey Iâm a blonde. Get over it
Asains are crazy drivers and are good at math
it's simply not true ok im asian and im not good at math
i'm not sure if they're real stereotypes but here are mine - the oh so easily offended people - religious fanatics - people who always respond negatively
âBoys will be boysâ. Hate it when people say this, especially mothers of little boys. Vi
Why did BP post this three times? It seems like BP might be intoxicated.
Dutch people being a******s who can't take criticism. I get that the directness is sometimes rude, but realise that Dutch people know how to handle it wich is why they know when someone's rude en when someone's direct. And yes I know being direct is not an excuse for being rude, but most of these are in the same big cities, where everyone can find an a*****e. Also saying someone's a a*****e is not criticism (and almost no one can take criticism)
Who says this? The only stereotype about the Dutch I've ever heard is that they're friendly people.
that christian people are homophobic and do not like to discuss topics such as evil, god in different religions / cultures, different views on death, and of course they cannot ever listen to black metal. (i'm a gay christian who loves a good debate and loves black metal haha and most ppl cant really figure it out) that someone who is on a plant based diet is automatically supporting vegan ideology and expects others to be on a vegan diet as well
If you are not hot-tempered, why such an angry post?
