What do you do to start your day?

#1

I’m retired now. Still routine is embedded. I wake at 6:30. I make and start the coffee, even though I no longer drink it, but the wife does. I do up any left over dishes. Then I sit down and read for an hour. After that, I wake the wife and get her working. I then out to check on the garden and do what is needed. There’s a late morning early afternoon nap too. Hey I’m retired, I’m allowed.

Quite boring by here goes, I live at home with my dad so:
5:45am - wake up or try to wake up lol
5:50am - bathroom stuff/shower etc.
6:20am - have breakfast while catching up on any emails (personal not work)
6:40am - get dressed and ready
7:00am - head out to work.

Quite monotonous and boring, I know. Lol

I'm a student so my days look mostly like this! Mon-Fri: wake up @ 6:30 (earlier if I have a meeting), actually wake up @ 6:45, obsess over what I should wear until 7:00, shove a strawberry grain bar down my throat @ 7:05, fill my metal water bottle w/ ice and wake up the whole house @ 7:10, relearn how to tie my shoes @ 7:15, out the door and in the car @ 7:20, poorly hum along to random pop songs until 7:30, at school and a mint in my mouth @ 7:45!

I am from Orlando but live on the west coast now. When my alarm goes off, I open up the app and listen to the last hour of The Monsters of the Morning, a morning radio show out of Orlando. Russ Rollins (the host) started the show back in the 90's, we are about the same age and his voice is part of "home". The segments on the show line up exactly with my morning routine. At one break, I have to get in the shower. The next break, I need to be out of the shower and brushing my teeth. Another break and I need to be making the coffee and logging into my computer for work. At the end of the show, I need to be sitting down and ready to clock in. It is just a small thing, but it starts my day out with some laughs, keeps me connected with total strangers that I have been listening to for decades and keeps me from running behind in the morning.

I stayed with my Dad the other month, asked what I would like for breakfast, I replied "coffee and a cigarette"
Apparently, (as a polite term) it's called an escorts breakfast x

I get an hour and a half before I have to be at work. I get up to walk my dog, Brutus Augustus, around the block while my husband soaks in the tub. I shower, get dressed and put on my makeup, take my Rxs, give Brutus his peanut butter and Benadryl, eat some yogurt while I make husband his oatmeal. I check my calendar to see what’s going on at work and let husband know if any bills need to be paid. Kiss my husband goodbye once he’s out of the shower and dressed. Back out the driveway and start my work day.
