Everyone makes mistakes. What is a mistake you made that you were oblivious to until it happened?

I frickn made a goal for the other soccer team when I was like 4. I don't remember it but the fact that I know I did it makes me madšŸ˜”šŸ˜‚

Being insulted and wrongly accused by the person you love... He could have dumped you for this treason, and he would have been right.

outing myself šŸ³ļøā€āš§ļø to my family
honest mistake because I was actually dumb enough to think at least one wouldn't hate me for it

I got my stepmom a perfume unaware it was the 'noel' collection. I also made her a Easter themed cake. She's Jewish. She was not very nice about it but honestly and I had no idea until my Dad told me. She thinks I am disrespected because of it and doing it out of spite. It hurts me that she thinks that.

Presumably you bought it because you liked the smell. If that's the case, it doesn't matter what the name is or what collection it was part of. If it was me I would have have been over the top in my realisation of my error, tears would have filled my eyes as I explained how the floral notes reminded me of the smell of her hair, and how warm & comforted I felt when I first smelled it as it reminded me of her warmth. When someone can't accept an honest mistake, I make them feel bad.

My boyfriend is quite kinky and also happens to love documenting anything like this we do through pictures. Well one day, we decide to take some pictures of me in the shower. Nothing too racy but definitely not something you'd want your nan seeing.

Anyway, several weeks pass and my boyfriend's mum unfortunately passed away from Covid-19, which absolutely devastated him. We'd just returned from the traumatic, socially distanced funeral when out of the blue he asks me to send him the pictures of me in the shower (they were taken on my camera) because he wants to relax by editing them. It's a bit of a strange request but sex is often how he deals with stress and anxiety, so I figure if it helps him through such a horrible day, why not?

So I fire up the laptop, send them over via FB and what do I do?

I'd only accidentally sent them TO HIS SISTER! THE DAY OF THEIR MOTHER'S FUNERAL!

Luckily, she found it funny and now all of my partner's family poke fun at me for it but that could've turned out SO much worse than it did.

It happened at work. I work as a customer service rep at a bank and we were crazy busy at the time. A customer had called to pay off his vehicle (about 20K) using 2 different accounts. So one one account he wanted to put 5k and the rest on another card. I accidentally put both on the same card. We were able to fix it for the customer and it was an honest mistake. I had originally put it in properly but the system crashed and I had to do the whole thing again and I just put the wrong info in the wrong place. I was so upset with myself. They were able to fix it and thankfully it didn't cause the customer to incur any overdrafts or anything. It was just an inconvenience because he had to wait to have it all fixed. I was really lucky that was the case because if my mistake had caused him to overdraft his other accounts, we would have had to pay for that. Ugh I still shake my head about it to this day.

IT gum up. We had a contractor that wasn't putting his code into the software repository. He was out one day and my boss asked me to ghost (back up) his computer. I did it backwards and started overwriting his stuff with our stock image. I was able to kill it before it ate his code but the pc was pretty hosed. Dang straight he started using the repository after that.
