1-Whenever I watch Shrek, I notice how her relationship with Shrek is their own. Then, they go to Far Far Away and meet up with her parents, and she changes just a bit. She wants to stay true to her new self, but a part of her is torn to be the person she used to be with her parents. Especially the scene when Shrek says "Better out than in, right Fiona?".........she starts laughing because that's who she is now, but then it's awkward because she remembers that's not how she used to act.
2-Toula from MBFGW is me in a nutshell! I, a Polish, naive, young woman met a Canadian that swept me off my feet. Again, it's about being who you are when you're with the one you love, versus acting the way your family expected you would act (or how you used to act).
