My boyfriend and I are temporarily LDR, tell me about yours! How did you make it work? How long did it last? What caused it to end? (P.S. if you read this far say "pringles")

So my ldr isn't really ldr. Just both our parents are super strict so I can't see them the whole summer. So that sucks but all of a sudden they ghosted me so now I'm sad and thinking about ending it cuz I text at least one hey/hi a day and no response. It's been like 2 weeks so.

Me and my boyfriend are in an extremely ldr, and he’s amazing, though we sometimes argue ahoit who who’s cuter me or him. ( I always win, becuase I tell him i wouldn’t date him if he wasn’t cute”

We got back in contact during Covid. We texted and talked through the whole thing. When it was safe to fly again we began making visits every couple months. This summer we got married. It is still a LDR unfortunately. When he retires and does not drive truck anymore we will alternate between our two homes in our very far apart states. In the meantime we phone, text, FaceTime, and get in that plane once a month. We’re solid and we’ll make it. (Actually until God takes one of us home, we are enjoying every day given to us.)

Okay, this was back in 1990 when my church youth group from Memphis took a mission trip to Atlanta. I was 15, and he was 22 when we met. We met on day 2 of 10 days there. We just clicked despite our age difference. We kissed just a few times before I left, and of course, exchanged addresses/phone numbers. This is before email and cell phones but we actually stayed in touch. He came to visit me once. Parents weren’t happy with our LDR but tolerated it because it was long distance. He got married 20-something years ago and has a daughter but did try to contact me before I got married. He told me he often thought about me/us and wondered what could have been. It is a sad, romantic story what if but we are definitely never going to reconnect. We just outgrew each other.
