My paintings take a critical view of racism, social justice and immigration policies in the U.S. I happen to have a “white shell”. Suppose my shell was a different color? Wouldn’t I still offer the same intrinsic value in any skin color? The work urges to "see" beyond the physicality of a human being. The portraits are of indigenous people with photographs of my eyes. We are all the same, wrapped in different skins. Acrylic and photography on canvas.
