Omg! I have the same fear! It would be SO embarrassing if people could ahh

I hate this. Sometimes I try to abuse it and I do stupid things, actually today trying to tell my dog they’re doing great @ the vet without speaking. The vet asked me why I was holding my breath.

Have you considered that maybe you're reading theirs? ESP isn't really looked into as a credible science. You won't find many papers devoted to it in The Lancet yet humans possess a biological function to sense 'atmospheres you can cut with a knife' or laidback and chilled vibes. We don't explore it because we also have logic and reason, and aren't encouraged to, but there are so many things our biologies can do. Chances are people aren't reading your mind - thank God because we all need at least one space that is utterly us and private - but you may have an ability to tune into other people's thoughts. Chances are that's not a comforting thought but exploring it may help to reduce your fear.

i do thattttt. i fear that if im touching that person or like we both have our hands on the same object or if they look into my eyes they can hear what in thinking (which ig also ties into me hating eye contact and being touched). edit: apparently its called "thought brodcasting phobia" or "telepathypathy"

For me it's only small spiders I really don't like. Tarantula? Cute and fluffy. Daddy long leg? I rescue it out of the bathtub. Small cardinal spider? Destroy at all cost. My reasoning: if I can keep an eye on it, it's safe. If they can vanish in a blink of an eye, not happening 🤷‍♀️

I have never been bitten by one that is considered dangerous. But every single one of them carries a toxin used to subdue and dissolve their prey. So yes, the "harmless" ones have sent me to the emergency room more than once. There is no such thing as a harmless s****r

I grew up in New England house built before the Civil War so it's foundation was stone. Because of this spiders would come right in from under the floorboards HUGE WOOD SPIDERS! I had them crawl on my at times, and even crawl onto my bed when I was trying to sleep. When I was married I told my husband YOU have to deal with the spiders. He thought I meant little spiders, but while at my parents I saw one and screamed. He came to kill it, but then he saw it! "That thing is bigger than my foot! I know, I said, why do you think I'm afraid of it??? I HATE ALL ARACHNIDS TO THIS VERY DAY!

Can relate, but with fear of the ocean. I don’t live near any bodies of water, let alone oceans

I won’t ever have that problem… 2 times out of 3 my fingernails are past the quick.

I feel you lol Madeiran here, i go outside right now and i see the ocean, the thing is i love the ocean, i love Seaside pubs ( we have lots of them here ), but if i get to close of the water i start paniking.

Agreed. There's a website called 'scroll through the ocean' its terrifying.

oh yeah, I have the escalator issue too. I look real cute trying to step on one at the top....it's like I start to lift my foot and lose my nerve "I'll just get the next step...the next one...the next one...." I try not to go to the city very much!

I also have that fear, and my foot got stuck in the escalator in Macy's NYC. When I was 4 the escalators above the 4th floor were old and made of wooden slats. My foot was small enough to fit in between the slats and got stuck! My Mom noticed seconds before the top of the escalator where my foot would have been broken off by the mechanism! Still afraid [67] and I take the Elevator or Stairs!

I have this, but only if I'm at a high elevation. Most people would get scared if they were up really high and looked down, but for me, looking down makes me feel safer because I can see the ground. I just can't look up!

Not at all weird. Views that have no frame of reference are disturbing. I was once on a Navy ship and we were so far out we could not see land. But looking across the deck at the ocean I could see the curve of the earth. Endless sky and water holding on because of gravity. Terrifying.

Most people go through their whole lives not actually seeing a corpse so I wonder is it really that hard to avoid them? I guess it depends on where you live I suppose.

Yeah, I don't know how clowns got to be cute people to have at small children's parties. That makeup? That weird hair? The weird clothes? Uh, nope.

I make sure when I go to bed that no part of me is hanging off the side!

Ahhh yes.....or kissing your pet rat good night....4 times. Until 4 isn't enough..it must be 4 sets of four...but that would CRAZY 'cause it's only twice...so then it was four sets of four sets of four sets of four. OCD can be a very time consuming spiral. My rat, Bean, on the other hand was very patient with me :)
