I've PTSS. He is my Guardian Angel. Sjaak is more in touch with my feelings than I am. And he is so smart to connect the dots to what is needed. The first time was that he ate and ate until he had to throw up. That sound got me out of dissociated state and realized it was 5 pm and I hadn't had breakfast yet. I guess he realized the hunger he kept feeling was mine not his. And sensed my blood sugar going up, because since then when he still felt hungry after eating he came looking for me and kept at getting my attention until I ate. Nowadays I eat a lot better. Other times I took Sjaak with me to my neighbor for a cup of tea and a chat. After that Sjaak sometimes goes to the front door loudly meowing, to the neighbor's door loudly meowing, when the neighbor opens the door, Sjaak walks back home as if he is saying: "You're too stressed. You need to chat with the neighbor." Just two examples of the many incredible things he has done for me.

We named her Glitch because of how we ended up with her. I was picking up cat food at pet store that had found a box of kittens on their doorstep that week. Kids were trying to play with her and she ran from them all the way up to me. She climbed up my leg and under my coat and nestled herself in my shirt. Refused to come out. Screamed bloody murder. Store owner was selling them for $25 to cover deworming and flea treatment. So he turned around and said I could keep her as she clearly had formed a quick attachement. It was Valentine's Day. She's been cuddling in my shirt for the last 2 years now. She trusts me implicitly and will have no one else cuddle her.

Thank-you all for your comments! What you can't see is that she has paralysis in her front legs. But her back legs are quite strong! It takes some effort to get her legs under her, but when she does she can launch herself about 3 feet! She has rather severe nerve damage. But is otherwise happy and adventurous! Of course she's only outside under close supervision!! I take her almost everywhere.

When the biting draws blood, you need a Tetanus shot within 24 hours, but then you're good for 10 years. We were in the emergency room on Christmas day 2019 after a love bite in my nose from my beloved ginger cat. Who is old enough to know better. Somehow I hadn't gotten around to buying Christmas dinner so we had a lovely diner in the hospital and no dishes. That's an X-mas I won't forget. So even when they are being "bad", you can make it better. How does the male ginger react on Buttercup?

Actually, they haven't yet interacted. I posted another pic, ( currently at #41), who is special needs. So Buttercup isin the bedroom with her. Just got the wood to make a gate to keep Tb2 in while allowing the other cats access. But I don't usually have any trouble with them getting along. I have 2 others in there also,have no problems. And I think Jasper is teaching her not to bite!

Buttercup is adorable! I taught my ferret not to bite by gently encompassing the muzzle with my hand and holding her mouth closed for a few seconds every time she got nippy. Worked well. Never could teach her mother, though. Minkie was a sneak attacker: crawl under the covers with us and--chomp!

Looks just like my first cat, Alex. One time I was sitting next to his scratching post with a mouse hanging on a piece of elastic. He looked me right in the eyes, put it in his mouth, backed up until he couldn't take another step, and let it fly. His aim was good as it just barely missed my head. He was such a trip and so smart. Miss him so much.

I used to have a cockatiel. He had a crush on my cat. He would follow her around my studio and squat and fluff his feathersas if to say, I'll help raise the eggs! He stalked her so much she would hide from him. Otherwise he would sit on her back and chat her up constantly.

Would You be shocked to know there are older cats? And cats who have lived to over 30 years? Lol 😂 oh and my Ebony lived to nearly almost 23yrs Siamese, Bombay’s and Maine Coons live the longest. They have few diseases that are breed specific.
