The death tolls change, the locations vary, but public mass shootings remain a constant in the United States. According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been 12,504 gun deaths in the country this year alone, and even though mass shootings only account for a tiny fraction of this number (307 or 2.5%), these incidents have left the whole country terrified of their wild unpredictability.

The victims of these shootings were innocent people who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. This has led many activists to question U.S gun laws, saying that 89 firearms per 100 residents isn't normal. Moreover, a cross-section study found that of all the 50 states, the six states with the strictest gun control had lower suicide rates. Another paper also pointed out that children living in states with stricter gun laws were safer. The list of scientific studies backing-up gun control are numerous, but some people still vehemently disagree with this evidence and argue that guns don't kill people, people do. They also like to spice up the gun control debates by stating that such measures would violate their 2nd amendment rights.

A review of published studies on gun control facts released in October 2003 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was unable to determine any statistically significant effects that would result from such laws, either. It's clear this ongoing debate among Americans isn't slowing down anytime soon, just take a look to the savage roasts on Twitter. However, within the many, many tweets that discuss this subject matter, there are some that lack reason and logic. Luckily, people instantly call them out with perfectly good comebacks. And, to our delight, sometimes they use sarcasm and humor to do so. This time, check out a compilation of some of the best comebacks to pro-gun activists and share your own opinion on the matter in the comments.

Shout it out for all to hear!!! Age has nothing to do with intelligence. It can have something to do with experience - but then if your experience is a school shooting I think you have the right to be heard anywhere you want.

I think there are 2 problems with this. 1. Why is a traumatized minor who knows nothing about guns or constitutional law suddenly be touted as an expert? They're not. And they're clearly biased. 2. Why is the media only promoting the opinions of those students that agree with the anti-gun agenda? There are many that disagree.

Teenagers are not allowed to have assault rifles, shooting occur because they steal stuff from their parents or get them illegally just like everything else is illegal in the world.

No one said you can't have an opinion Shiba Inu. From teen to teen. I agree everyone can be in an emotional state. What we are saying is that the media is only portraying the teens in an emotional state. You will never hear about the many students that are pro-gun, or are grateful to have been saved by someone bearing a legally owned firearm. No one should make a decision based solely on what a teen in an emotional state facing extreme peer pressure has said, ever.

Peer pressure after witnessing classmates bodies being torn apart in repetitive mass murders because there are no intelligent laws to prevent these repetitive massacres of not only teenagers, but also very little children?. Check out the countries who have intelligent gun laws, and then please research the mass shooting statistics of kids in school. None. The leaders in those countries are not bought with big bucks by organizations like the NRA who want to make more money and are eager to throw a lot of money to the corrupt leaders who bow obsequiously to a few pieces of silver. Research the subject first. Then at least attempt to make an intelligent comment. Or should even nursery school kids be wearing Kevlar vests while packing semiautomatics in their lunch bags to be prepared for school?

The point was whether the media is promoting one side by trying to use this teen as emotional leverage to persuade people to bypass their logic and side with gun control. You will notice that there are never long media campaigns highlighting the thankfulness of those who have been protected by a legally owned firearm (it happens much more than you are allowed to think by your masters in the media). Nobody said anything about not allowing teens to have opinions.

Facts are simple. People were shot and died unnecessarily. Of course it brings out an emotional response. Things are messed up enough, it really doesn't need people to stop caring.

There is usually some problem in those countries though. It is a fact that most countries do not have anyone of any age carrying guns - which is why they don't have the problems that America has.

Yeah when the government wants to constantly defund education and teachers barley make enough to survive, maybe we should do the cheaper thing and pass common sense gun control, fund mental health programs, and vote out these politicians that are either in the pocket of the NRA or are too lazy to do anything about the problem.

I'm British, and I still don't understand the need to arm everyone with guns, and I can't turn on the news without the story of another stabbing victim in or around London. Yes, we have an armed division of our police force, but they're only used in extreme circumstances. In America, you get a bullet to the head for carrying around a water pistol, or a Nerf gun.
