Most of us have a few stories to tell of things that we’re sure happened to us, but don’t have any rational explanation. It can be fascinating to speculate about what really happened, but more fascinating still, whether we believe in the supernatural or not, to just accept that there’s no way to find out. Someone on r/AskReddit posted this call for people’s best stories of times they experienced a “glitch in the matrix,” or a moment when reality just didn’t check out, and reading the thread is a journey down a rabbit hole.
Here are stories from people who either made contact with some things beyond the world of the living, got a premonition of a serious real-life crime or accident, or had all of their senses deceive them.

So this has always bothered me. I was 13 years old at the time and my dad was a coal miner. He worked 3rd shift (known as the 'hoot owl shift) which was midnight to noon. As such he got home around 2 pm and slept till around 9, got up had dinner with us and left for work.
My dad was always pretty gruff and constantly yelled at us if my younger brother or I made too much noise and woke him up after getting home from somewhere(which as an adult now I completely understand).
So one day I did something to wake him up, I forget what. Anyways he calls me back to the bedroom and I'm expecting to get a dressing down but he just looked at me and said.
"it's ok. Come over here and give me a hug". What 13 year old boy wants to hug their dad? I kinda squirmed a bit and he followed up with
"What if something happened to me?" and just layed there all grizzled and tired..... I didn't hug him.
That night there was an accident in the mine. He saved everyone on his crew, including the one person he went back in for.
His was the only death, and I'm convinced he knew it was gonna happen. I'll never forget his eyes that day
If someone asked you for a hug give it to them. I love you dad
My friend Sarah was in a nightclub, drunk off her face, when she got an overwhelming urge to tell a total stranger that her leg hurts (edit: it didn’t). All a bit strange, she ignores it but it doesn’t stop so she walks up to this guy and says, ‘I know this is crazy but I’ve got a huge urge to tell you my leg hurts. I know that’s crazy, again! Sorry!’
But he bursts into tears. Turns out his dad had just died and they made a pact before that if there was an afterlife he would get a message to him saying a totally random phrase, so there could be no mistakes, which they decided was ‘I’ve hurt my leg.’
I have a good one.
I was about 12 years old, and woke up in the middle of the night needing to take a leak.
I walked across the hall to the little bathroom, hit the lights, and was about to reach for the toilet when I glanced up and saw a face in the mirror.
It was not my face.
It was as if someone was on the other side, standing to the right, with their face right next to the glass, staring at me. I only saw it for the briefest moment, but it is seared into my brain.
I screamed, and ran out of there to find my Dad. Of course, my dad investigated, then calmed me down, or tried to. Eventually we had a prayer session, because I was so freaked out. Eventually I must have gone back to sleep...
Fast forward to my 30s. I’d forgotten all about the event. One night while visiting, my dad quietly brings it up. “Remember that one time you saw a face in the mirror...”. It suddenly came back to me in a rush of memory, sending a chill down my spine. “Yea, I remember”
“Well...” he said, “I sometimes think about that night.” He looked down at the floor, with a serious expression. “I saw it too.”
He went on to describe exactly what I’d seen. We have no idea what that was. Apparently when he investigated, he saw it and had a freak out of his own. Apparently the prayer session was as much for his own nerves as mine.
I respect him for keeping that tidbit from me till my thirties, but I kinda wish he’d never told me.
Many close encounters can be explained by false memories—that is, when information that you learn after something happens influences you to recontextualize or even imagine more details to what happened before or during the event, recreating it so clearly that it blends into your memories.
For example, the pall that a death or accident casts over your memory of the day that it happened could influence you to believe that you had a foreboding feeling that something was wrong, or that a coincidence that happened earlier that day was warning you of what was to come.
This just happened today.
My daughter (4) was playing in her room on the second story. I was two rooms away, playing my guitar. Very loudly, I heard my daughter screaming "daddy come to the guest bedroom, I want to show you something!" This immediately seemed off. We have an extra bedroom, but I had never heard her call it that before. While she also has pretty good speech, this was amazingly clear.
When I walked around the corner, into the bedroom to see what she wanted, I saw two little legs sliding out the window. I jumped across the room, and grabbed my daughter by her ankle before she could fall out.
After a not great moment where I yelled at her, then hugged her, then yelled again, then apologized for yelling and hugged her, I finally calmed down. We had a talk about why we don't play in windows. While I was putting the window back together (she had pushed and popped out the storm and screen window from the bottom) I asked her what she wanted to show me.
"What?"
"What do you want to show me? You asked me to come see something"
"No I didn't daddy."
"Are you sure? You told me to come to the guest bedroom."
(A little whiny now, and annoyed) "No I didn't daddy!"
"You didn't ask me to come to the 'guest bedroom' to see something?"
"No."
"Okay..."
I once clocked out of work at 6pm (like I always did at the time) and began my hour long train ride home.
After I had found a seat, I went to sleep and woke up just before my station. From the station, it is a short bus journey (10-15 minutes) to reach home.
During the entire journey, I didn't use my phone and I don't wear a watch so I didn't really notice the time anywhere.
When I reached home, my family surprised me with "You're home early, everything alright?". I look at the wall-clock and it is about to be 6pm. I was too shocked to understand what happened. Checked other watches, cellphones etc and the time is absolutely right.
A few days later, the admin emailed us the timesheets for the month (times clocking in and out), and every single days for me was around the same 6pm. So it certainly wasn't me having left work earlier.
To this date, I haven't figured out how I gained between 60-90 minutes that day.
One day when I was about 8 I didn't go to school because I was sick. My friend was suppoused to bring me homework etc. but he never came. My granddad came home from work and he told me that that friend was dead, I was devastated. That night I had a dream. I was with my friend at a playground next to our school and we were talking, then he told me that he is safe and it didn't hurt when that car hit him. The next day my mother wanted to talk to me about that situation and she asked me if I wanted to know what happened. I told her that I know everything because my friend told me. She thought that my granddad told me but he did not. He said that he did not wanted to tell me without her knowing it. That night I had a dream again and I was talking to him again. We were playing and having fun and he told me that he really had to go and we wont see each other ever again. The next day was his funeral and I really havent had a dream about him ever since.
I had the same dream about my dad. I was always scared that my dad had a lot of pain when he passed. Organ failure. One night just before his funeral, he told me that he was fine and that I should stop worrying. I miss my dad terribly. He passed in 2012
The effect can be even stronger when there’s more than one person there to back it up. This happens so often in relation to history and pop culture that it has come to be called “the Mandela effect” (named after the belief that Nelson Mandela died and his funeral was broadcast on TV in the 80s, decades before he actually died in 2013) when people who misremember a public event the same way compare their memories and are certain that with so many witnesses, it must have happened.
It’s not surprising that a smaller version of this could happen if you and a friend go through something harrowing together and then try to get your story straight.
1985. My ex wife and I were sleeping. There was a small sliver of light coming in through the window from a streetlight, so the room and bed were dimly visible. Our black Pomeranian was at the end of the bed asleep.
I dreamt that I woke up, reached down to pet him, and he turned into a glossy black bivalve/oyster thing which opened up to reveal rows of gleaming glass teeth. I woke up to my ex backpedalling up the bed over the pillows towards the wall.
I asked "what's wrong??" She said, "what is that shiny black clam thing with the teeth at the end of the bed?? Where's the dog?"
We had had the same nightmare at the same time. This still gives me a chill.
I died. I saw it, I lived it. Either it was another world with a version of me that died I saw or I'm going crazy but I DIED.
We had a pep rally in school and after it was finished we had to go back to class. Well, my friend and I were not into that so we wanted to to across the street to Sonic. Across the school there is not heavy traffic, but if you don't pay attention you could get hit.
Well I remember walking with him and he dropped something so I went across the street first. I just saw a red Tahoe heading right for me and I got hit.
I remember everything. I remember gasping for air, I remember waking up and sleeping again. Then nothing. All of a sudden I was back in the stadium again and the EXACT SAME WORDS came out of the principal's mouth. My friend wanted to go get sonic but i was freaking out. Was asking him everything.
I thought it had to be a dream, so I went with him just to see what would happen. He dropped his stuff again and I waited. To my horror, that same red Tahoe showed up. I told him that I'm going back to school, I ain't dying again.
I can still see the other version of me on that street just messed up. Not even moving.
I remember being pretty young like 9 or 10 and I was the car park of a pub in England (Southend). I remember seeing someone in their teens in the window of a house looking over the car park. They waved at me and I felt like I knew them somehow. My parents asked who I was waving at and I said just some lady in the window over there. Didn’t think much of it. Fast forward 10 years. I was at my nans new house. I remember walking into her room (which I never was allowed to do) going to the window. I then realised I was in the house looking over that same parking lot and remembering that interaction years before. Then a girl around 9 or 10 who was in said car park waved at me and I waved back. I felt like I knew her.
Could not explain it and have never told anyone about it. It freaked me out.
If you’ve ever had a bizarre experience with no apparent explanation, though, it may not be worth speculating about what psychological phenomenon could have really caused it. In most cases, it’s not like there’s a way to test it or find out, for better or for worse… so we’ll never run out of weird stories to tell in the dark.
Might get buried but oh well. When I played baseball as a kid, they were handing out the trophies at the end of the season. They called out the names of the kids while we received our trophies. They're happened to be a kid with the same name as me. We met after the ceremony because it was weird since our last name isn't a very common one. We had the same birthday and everything. We looked alike, both our Dad's were named Derek and both of our sisters were named Lilly. As a kid, I found it cool. As an adult, I find it cool and also disturbing
My late uncle used to say he never believed in God, and he believed in Thunder instead (it's a god from my country's old mythology, a Baltic God called Perkūnas). He died in summer and his funeral was held on a beautiful sunny day, no clouds in sight.
As they were closing the casket suddenly the only window in the room burst open (it was definitely closed shut) and we heard a super loud thunder roar. Everyone freaked out instantly. I was around 16-years-old and I remember it clearly.
This was the only thunder that day, no rain followed and no clouds in sight.
In college, I took a hard news/soft news journalism class where one of the assignments was to write an obituary for one of my grandparents. The professor told us to write it on a deceased grandparent, but if all of your grandparents were still alive we had to choose one. In my case, all of my grandparents were alive. I procrastinated actually doing the assignment until the night before it was due because it seemed like a morbid assignment (especially once all of my grandparents were still alive).
Scramming for an easy grandparent to write about, I gave my mom a call and asked her for some basic biographical information about my maternal grandfather. As we were talking about my grandpa's career, my mom couldn't recall the name of one of the companies he worked at. She lectured me about waiting until the last minute to write the assignment because it was late -- 10:30pm my grandpa's time. However, she said she would give him a call to see if he was still awake and be able to answer that question once my assignment was due the following morning.
When my mom called my grandpa, my grandma answered the phone in a panic. My grandma frantically explained that the paramedics had just arrived and were performing CPR on my grandpa because he had stopped breathing and lost consciousness. My mom was able to stay on the phone with my grandma until they took my grandpa to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
In the time my mom and I had been talking on the phone about my grandpa's "obituary," he was dying. (His death was entirely unexpected at that. Although he was in his eighties, he was the healthiest of my grandparents at the time. We ended up using the obituary I wrote for that writing assignment as his actual obituary. Still freaks me out when I think about the timing.
I was on vacation on Florida visiting a friend, we were walking on the beach on a perfectly sunny day when everything went black for a second. I think it was weird but explained it away thinking that my eyes were playing tricks on me until he looked at me and said "did everything go black for a second?"
I had a very important document that I only ever kept in one place. I kept it in the top drawer of a small filing cabinet. I never moved it and would always see it in that drawer whenever I opened it for whatever reason. The day came that I needed it now and I didn’t sweat it because I knew exactly where it was. Well, I be damned if it wasn’t there. Cue panic attack.
I tore that filing cabinet up. I removed everything and spread it out, flipped papers over, dug through envelopes, shook everything out, shined a flashlight all through the emptied cabinet in case it was somehow stuck to the sides... I mean, it was not there!
I can assure you no one took it or was messing with me. I was so frustrated. I even looked through other parts of my house... but I knew it wouldn’t be in any of those places and it wasn’t. I was intermittently going back to that dumb filing cabinet. No luck.
Super irritated, I searched the rest of the house again and, on my way back downstairs where my filing cabinet was, I called out in frustration, “Okay! Bring it back!!!”. I don’t know who I thought I was talking to because I was alone, but you guessed it... I found it in the top drawer of my filing cabinet where it should have been in the first place.
I was relieved and totally freaked out.
One day I took my engagement and friendship rings off so I could do the dishes and when I went back to get them off the bench they were gone. I checked everywhere and moved everything. Months went by and still no sign. My partner and I started organising our wedding and when we went wedding ring shopping I found a nice engagement and wedding ring set so we got that. A week after we got the rings off layby my original engagement and my friendship ring were exactly where I left them months ago. I put it down that maybe my daughter picked them up, lost them and then put them back but I just don’t know.
My mom, married almost 47 years at the time, had been working in the flower garden. She’d lost weight, so apparently when she took her gloves off, or tried to put it in her pocket, her engagement ring fell to the ground. She, my dad, my brother and I all looked around and didn’t finding it. Fast forward a couple months and I guess my brother used his metal detector and found it, on their 47th anniversary. Also, it was the day I had the ventilator removed and I woke from the sedation I’d been under for a week. I’d gone into cardiac arrest the week before, but obviously was revived.
Load More Replies...This happens to me all the time. I get super mad that I cannot find something that never moves. Then I ask my wife "have you seen X? and she says "have you checked the top drawer." Then I reply "Its not in the top drawer, I've literally emptied it and been through everything....oh, there it is. In the top draw." Yeah the brain glitches things out of your perception sometimes.
It seems that this often happens to men. ( I'm a man and I know it.) Seems to have something to do with women paying more attention to details.
Load More Replies...Happens to me all the time. Runs in my family. We call it the family gremlin--always hides something when you need it, but ours doesn't return on demand--only after we've already replaced the original. I hate the little bugger.
Once I checked my wallet because I needed to check how much money I had, but I found it-empty, I had just come back from hanging out with my friends and I knew I hadn't touched it since I came back, I opened it and I found EVERYTHING gone, even my two-dollar bill, I panicked, I checked it like 4 times and looked in my purse, I didn't find anything. The next day I checked again and I found that everything was back where it was, I was shocked and I knew that I didn't dream it because my mom was really surprised too and she had checked it multiple times too.
About 20+ years ago, I was at my brothers house and a friend of his was there. When the friend went to leave, he could not find his car keys, which had been sitting on the couch next to him the whole time. Same thing, we all started looking for them and each of us took the cushions off the couch to check if the keys had fallen in. Nothing. After an hour or searching the rest of the house we went back to the living room to find, you guessed it, the keys sitting on the cushion where they should have been all along. BTW, this is the same house where my brother's saws all disappeared from the drawer he kept it in, only to reappear months later. After he sold the house, the new owner complained all around the small town that the house she just bought was haunted. She even tried to file a complaint that my brother had failed to disclose that the house was haunted when he sold it.
Yessssssss. Something similar happened to me with my wallet. Came home late and I remember DISTINCTLY placing it on my nightstand just as I’ve done for years and when I needed to go the store the next day it wasn’t there. Wife and I tore up the whole house, car, etc. I even went to 3 places of business I went the previous day thinking I lost them there...but no. I finally gave up and just figured I lost it forever somewhere. Fast forward several months later. I was going through a tote that I hadn’t opened in years. At the BOTTOM was an old pair of pants I hadn’t worn in years. As unfolded them my missing wallet dramatically went flying from one it’s pockets and landed in front of my feet. The only POSSIBLE explanation is I woke up in the middle of the night grabbed my wallet got on the floor grabbed the tote that was under my bed neatly took out all the cloths found that pair of pants stuck it in the pocket put everything back and went back to bed without waking my wife up.
In Russia we believe in a house spirit called "domovoy" - sort of a brownie. He can be friendly and helpful, but also mischievous and if you don't treat them well he can become very cruel, too. So when something like in this post happens, we have a saying in our family "Domovoy-domovoy, please play with it a bit and then give it back." Always works! ;)
That s**t happens to me way too often. Nowadays I tell myself "You know it's where you put it last; you'll find it eventually." And I do.
This happens to both my husband and me all the time in our house! Look for something, can't find it, ask the fairies to put it back, go do something else for a few minutes, come back.... and there it is, in plain sight, right where you were looking. All the damn time.
My experience. https://shoeuntied.wordpress.com/2016/09/11/a-small-but-enduring-mystery-where-the-hell-are-my-keys/
That's pretty hilarious, I don't disbelieve or believe but it's a pretty good story
This summer I bought my girlfriend a last-minute birthday trip to go kayaking around the San Juan Islands off the Washington state coast. After a long drive and ferry trip, we found the tour group of about 20 people and were then shuffled into a shuttle van for a ride to the beach.
Now, my girlfriend has a unique name similar to the name of a famous painter. Let's say it's Rebecca Warhol just for fun (it's not). She's a little ray of sunshine, and started chatting with the middle aged woman sitting next to her on the shuttle as we waited to leave. The woman noted that she had always loved the name Rebecca, as it was her mother's name. They made pleasant small talk in the van until the tour guide passed around the sign-in sheet for all of us to fill out. That's when things got strange.
My girlfriend wrote her full name on the sheet and passed it on to the woman, who immediately shouted "Oh my God," and started crying. After a few minutes of total confusion, she told us "Rebecca Warhol was my mother's full name, and these islands were her favorite place in the world. She passed away this summer from cancer and we've traveled hundreds of miles to spread her ashes here." We were STUNNED. I literally picked a random date, time, and tour company, and THEN we were split into the same group as this woman AND my girlfriend was sitting right next to her on the shuttle. What the hell? She continued by saying, "My daughter told us that Nana Rebecca would be with us on this trip, and I didn't believe it until now." It was the most unbelievable coincidence we had ever experienced, and has totally convinced me that there's more to this world than we think. As my brother later said, the Universe winked at us that day.
I remember driving my car to this intersection in this rural area and I'm checking both sides because of terrible blind spots. In the corner of my eye my mother is sitting there and says something like "it's all clear my way"
I look back and she isn't there. My mother had been dead for a few years at this point. This was also in the middle of the day and I've never had it happen since.
Taking the trash out at night, super remote area so I know for a fact we're the only ones around here, getting close to the road and I hear very clearly "help me" from a female voice. Even knowing there's such a slim chance of there being another living person around, I still feel like I should look around and check it out in case I wasn't just hearing things and someone actually needs help. Take about two steps in the direction I thought I heard it, hear a giggle in the same exact voice, turn around and walk promptly back up the driveway because f**k that s**t. Anyone who actually needed help wouldn't be laughing, I don't think.
I usually break this out when someone asks for a "ghost story," but I don't believe in ghosts, so we'll say it fits this category.
I have always loved exploring abandoned buildings in the American west. Mostly ghost towns, abandoned mines and such, but old ranch houses and other building can be interesting, too.
In 2005, I was in central Nevada, heading for a week long exploring trip. I passed an old house on a large (former) ranch property that I know had been inhabited just a few years earlier, but now appeared to be abandoned. No cars on the property, about half of the windows boarded up, etc.
The front door was open, so after shouting out for any inhabitants with no response, I walked into the house. It had seen other visitors before me. A few windows were broken from the inside, and many of the few belongings left behind had been rummaged through and strewn about. I walked upstairs, and began walking from bedroom to bedroom. Pack rats had begun their takeover, and their droppings littered the floor. I walked into what was once decorated as a little girls room. There was a cheap brass bed frame, and the mattress had been slid partially off the frame and onto the floor. Some clothes and toys sitting around would lead me to believe the girl was quite young. I peeked into the small closet, which was bare with the exception of a few wire hangers left on the rod. When I turned to leave the closet, there was a girl, around 5-6 years old sitting on the bed, which had somehow had the mattress returned to its normal position.
She said "Hi, Mister. What are you doing in my room?" I panicked, and immediately realized that the house wasn't abandoned, it was just that the family living there was living in extreme poverty. I began apologizing, and explained that I had yelled hello, and nobody answered, so I thought the house was abandoned.
"It's okay, Mister. Mommy isn't home. I haven't seen here in a long time. Maybe you could help me find her?"
She stood up, walked toward the the open window and sat on the ledge, looking out on a vast empty field of sagebrush.
I asked her to come downstairs with me and we would go find her mother.
She started to stand up from the window, but turned around suddenly and said "Oh no, he's coming! I have to go, Mister. He's coming! You should probably go too." She then kicked her legs over the windowsill and jumped. I raced to the window, and looked to the ground, expecting to see an injured little girl, but there was nothing there. I raced back downstairs and out of the house. I looked around as I walked back to my car, but saw nobody.
She wasn't what I think of when I think of a ghost. There was no transparency, no foggy haze around her or anything like you would expect from a movie "ghost." I still don't know what the hell I saw. I pulled into Austin, NV later that evening and met up with the group I was planning on exploring with. We went for drinks that night at a local bar, and after a few drinks they convinced me to tell my story to the bartender. He listened, and then asked me to confirm the location of the property. When I described the location and condition of the house, he explained "Oh yeah. That's the old _______ ranch. Sounds like you had a visit from Nellie. She likes to chat with people that stop by. She's harmless." He then explained that the original owner disappeared in the late 1960's after leaving a note saying the family was moving to Alaska, so he could try his luck at gold mining in the Yukon. He was later located in Oregon, and largely suspected of killing his wife and daughter, however no bodies were ever found. His version of the story was that the wife and daughter did not want to leave Nevada, and left him somewhere along the way.
I absolutely loathe telling this story, because I don't believe in ghosts or the paranormal, and I feel like I'm trying to tell a spooky story to a group of children. I went back to that house 2 more times before it was burned down a few years back. I never saw or heard anything unusual since my first visit.
A minor one but why not.
My wife and I are space nerds, so we follow pretty much all news regarding space travel. Of course, we're all hyped AF (if skeptical) about the whole Starship thing. And the glitch is exactly about that thing.
About 3 years ago, SpaceX YT channel posted this vid, showcasing the first iteration of their Mars craft. I watched it on like day 2, with my wife sitting behind me, eyes wide and in absolute awe. We finished watching, I turn back - and see that incredilous look on her face.
"But we already watched this... Some three weeks ago"
I look at the posting date - nope, nada, it was definitely 2 day ago. I do a quick search in YT and Chrome history, going all the way to the beginning of the year - obviously, no trace. I even check the internet and ITS (as Starship was called back then) was not even revealed 3 weeks prior, at least not in any video published by SpaceX or any other official site.
Then she starts going through things I apparently said back then, during that previous watching, up to quoting my exact words - some of which sound pretty similar to what I thought while watching the vid (but definitely didn't speak aloud, as I was too stunned and awe-struck).
At this point I recall that at 2:40 timemark, she had said something along the lines of "Look, now it's going to deploy panels, it looks so funny" - and the scene happens then, a few seconds after her remark. So either she actually saw the vid before me, or guessed the moment, based on what was being shown in the vid.
We chalked that up to either her watching it a day prior, just after it got uploaded, and forgetting about it, or an actual harmless glitch (I actually believe in glitches, kinda in a Pratchettesque manner of 'things just happen - what the hell').
This one gets an upvote from me just for mentioning Terry Pratchett!
Weird but happy. About 5 years ago in November we lost our family dog to cancer. She was the dog my children grew up with, loved by all. At the next Christmas, at the end of the day of gifts, food and family, as I was picking up, I found a tiny pewter dog figurine sitting on the mantel. I asked everyone who had been at the house that day if they left it. No one had. Okay, weird, but took it as a good omen. When my eldest went back to college at the end of that Christmas break, he asked if he could take the little figurine, to remember his dog. Of course, I said yes. A week or two later, picking up around the house, there was the figurine again! I called my son, and said, “You forgot the dog figurine!” He said, “No I didn’t, it’s right in front of me on my desk!” I had now found a second figurine!! Again, no one claimed any knowledge of it. No idea how....but I still have the two of them tucked away on a shelf to this day.
I've told this story before and could go into a ton of detail but here's the short version.
I am 100% sure I vividly remember a dog that apparently doesn't exist. When I was 16 we lived on the other side of the province and my uncle had this little jack russell named Crue. Crue went missing for several months and then turned up at a humane society over an hour away and we were all shocked this little dog has made it so far.
anyway that was almost 20 years ago and the other day I was talking to my parents and was like you know "whenever I hear about Jack Russells I think about Crue and that stunt he pulled" and they had no idea what I was talking about. Insisted my uncle had never had such a dog, I must have dreamed it, etc. Honestly anyone else who would have remembered this dog has been dead for a long time and I don't even have any pictures of my uncle. I have absolutely no way to prove this dog existed but I'm sure that he did.
I have had moments just like this where something happened and everyone insists it didn't.
I don’t personally remember this, but I would see my dead grandfather all the time when I was a kid. From the ages of 7-9 there was probably 10 different incidents.
My dad was an absolute pansy when it came to “ghosts” (which I don’t really believe in) and wanted to take me to the doctor. My dad had one of those bathrooms with a separate toilet room and no one that lived in the house closed the bathroom door unless they were bathing. I was playing runescape and my dad asked why the bathroom door was closed, and I said it’s because grandpas in there. That’s the only one I actually remember.
There was maybe two other bathroom incidents and some incidents when I would sit on the floor and watch tv with my dad and he would tell me to go sit in the (what was once my grandfathers) chair and said i couldn’t because grandpa was sleeping.
I don’t know how creepy these are tbh but they freaked out my family for sure.
When I was about 19, I had a strange dream that there was a knock at the door, when I opened it there was a little old lady who smiled at me and said theres my sweet baby girl.. and then I woke up.. the next day I made a comment about it to my mom because it really stuck with me.. she started bawling her eyes out.. apparently the door I described was the same as her front door way growing up as a child, the woman I described seeing fit the description of my mothers mom to a T same height, same yellowish tinged grey hair, same big broach, and when my mom was a child her mother used to call her "my sweet baby girl"... my mothers mom died when my mom was 12, I have never seen a photo of her a day in my life... and that day.. was my late grandmothers birthday
After my little brother was murdered the next morning I was talking with a friend and he mentioned this other dude I went to high school with younger brother had died in a car accident a couple weeks before.
Later that day I pull out a slip of paper with this other dudes number and name on it from my pants. I vaguely remember running into him a year or so before this at a club where he gave me his number.
I swear I had worn and washed these jeans at least a dozen times since I had run into this dude. I still makes no sense how that paper was there and I only found it then.
I call the dude and we talked a bunch it really help me deal with the situation.
Probably going to get buried, but I met someone who no longer seems to exist.
In October 2018, I developed tendinitis in my hand, so I went to see a hand specialist at my regular hospital. I remember the hand specialist really clearly. She was a really happy, talkative Vietnamese woman with straight, dark brown hair and glasses. She had a German-sounding last name, which I assumed was her married name. She was really really nice and we had a long conversation about a medical conference that she goes to. She explained that my hand issues (caused by phone usage) were the "hot topic" of the conference and that she'd probably use my injury as an example when she goes there.
Anyway, she gave me care instructions and sent me home. I was told to return if it didn't resolve in a few weeks because then I'd need to be reexamined and sent to physical therapy.
It didn't resolve and I went back. I had an appointment with the same doctor, but the woman who came into the room was completely different. She was a white woman with light brown hair, no glasses, completely different face shape, really dull and unwelcoming disposition. I was so f**king confused. I asked her her name, and she gave the same name the Asian doctor had. I asked if there was another doctor by that name and she told me no, it was only her. I described the doctor I had seen and she got annoyed and said she didn't know who I was talking about.
I later went online to the hospital's staff directory and tried to find the Asian doctor -- I couldn't. I have no idea what happened to her. I even checked my medical records to see if maybe I remembered her name incorrectly but I didn't. Both of my visits have the same doctor's name on them. I've always been confused about this and it really bothers me that I met someone who doesn't seem to exist anymore.
I was working on my motorcycle in a dirt lot where I had crashed it trying to do a sick drift, breaking off the clutch lever and the gear shifter. I had brought a wrench set with me and I was using one of them to take off a bolt when I put it down on the ground to finish unscrewing the bolt with my hand. Two minutes later I went to pick it back up and it was gone. I ran all around this dirt lot looking for it to no avail, luckily I had a spare in the car. Fixed the bike and drove back to my apartment to shower as I was filthy. I walked in my room and sitting on my desk was the wrench. I was dumbfounded
That happened to me, but with a needle. I was sitting on the sofa embroidering with a special needle that I only have one of. I was changing the colour, so I put the needle on the coffee table and picked up the new yarn, cut a piece of it and reached for the needle. It was gone. Looked everywhere but couldn't find it. My dog showed me that she needed to go out, so I opened the front door and directly saw my needle on the railing outside.
I have a jade Buddhist necklace I bought in China about 10 years ago. It dissappears for months at a time only to reappear somewhere obvious like my desk, my dresser, in a drawer I use every day. I just say it goes on a trip and will come back eventually.
Around 12 years ago I had a dark purple 3 series BMW which I drove to work and parked in the same spot for around 3 years. I sold the car due to mileage and wanting something a little more reliable and purchased a different car.
1 week later, I turn up to work to find my purple BMW parked in my parking spot. I was totally WTF?
Turns out that we had a work-experience kid start that day, and his dad had dropped him off in my old car that he bought 2 days earlier.
What are the chances of that? I've never met this kid or his dad, and yet here was my old car in my/its space.
Similar experience with a car here too. Twenty years ago I had a boyfriend; his father bought a new car and I was the first non-family passenger on it. Time went by.... A few years later his father sold the car and switched to another one. Boyfriend and I got married and moved to another town. Six months later, We saw that car parked in front of our new marital house. We laughed at the coincidence. Time went by..... Husband and I got divorced. I moved into a new house in the same town. One year later, that very same car is parked in my new complex. The owner lives in my same building. Twenty years later that car still follows me.
My wife passed away a year ago today. Had a some odd things happen like a couple of old meaningful pictures show up that I swore were in storage. The strangest one was I vacuumed the carpet and as soon as I was done a diamond ring was on the ground right where I had just cleaned. It was like she was saying "Hey this one is real don't lose it!".
Many things like this happened after my son died. Just one: we moved his chair a different spot than he had it. For about 3 mornings we woke up to find the chair back where he had it.
My mom told me a story that still baffles me to this day.
When she was 10-years-old her parents went out for the evening, asking her to let them in when they come back. She wasn't left alone tho, there were two of her older siblings there too, but only her room was on the first floor, so naturally, she'd be the first one to hear someone banging on them. So the parents come back at around 2 AM and my mom wakes up. But she's not in her bed. She's standing holding a friggin WINDOW!
She now realizes that someone is banging on the door loudly, puts the window on the floor. Lets the parents in and they're scared, asking what took her so long. Then they see the window and they're all shocked since my grandpa knew there was NO WAY someone could get it out without tools. My mom tried to lift it, she couldn't it was too heavy.
She says she doesn't remember how she managed to unscrew the window but is still shocked it happened.
Removed a painting from the wall during a late evening cleaning, put it away and returned to the wall to see a never before seen painting on the same spot, put a chill down my spine.

Myself, my hubby and a friend were just cruising along the back country roads one night and out of the blue my partner said. “I better slow down coz a stupid guy in a white commodore is speeding down a side road and will hit us side on”. There was absolutely no way he could have seen the car he was talking about. So he slowed down and approx 2 mins later a guy driving a white Holden commodore was fanging it, if we hadn’t had slowed down we would have been T-boned.
This one isn’t spooky or bad or anything but my younger brother and I VERY often will start randomly singing the exact same song at the exact same time. It isn’t once in a while, it is pretty much every time we see each other.
Load More Replies...I hope most of these stories are fake because they scared the s**t out of me
It's probably a mix of things - fake, our brains doing weird things to us (because they do) and things we just don't have answers for... yet.
Load More Replies...If you know the poem about the Rainbow Bridge, this will make sense. I lost my first dog while he was in the kennel at a vet's office because I was out of town. He died suddenly, unexpectedly, and through no fault of the vet where he was staying. I was devastated, he was my baby. Over the course of the first couple weeks, I found rainbow stickers everywhere. There was a rainbow sticker in a pair of pants that I wore to work, which had been washed recently. I needed a notebook for something, pulled one out of my stash, there was a rainbow sticker on the cover. Taking a walk, I happen to look down at one point, you guessed it. There was a rainbow sticker in the dirt. I found great comfort in the thought of the Rainbow Bridge, and Harley sending me rainbow stickers to let me knew he's still with me.
Two weeks after our dog left us I was sitting in my living room quite late in the evening whilst it was quiet. Then a few feet away I heard three wraps in the glass door of a cabinet next to where she used to lay on her bed. The only time I've ever heard that noise was when her tail used to hit it when she was happy. Damn onion ninjas.
Load More Replies...There was this family who had a summer house in our village. They always came for a few weeks every summer. I was perhaps 12 years old when they first came, with their daughter, Sophia. We were a bunch of kids, 8 of us perhaps and we were happy to have a new friend. She was a bit dark-skinned, with jet black hair, a pointy nose, and light blue eyes. We've had a good summer. A few weeks after, she left with her parents. Next summer they came again. We kids went to their house to meet Sophia. The parents let us in her room, and there was Sophia, with her milky white skin, brown eyes and brown hair. We were stunned and asked her if she was really Sophia to which she replied "Of course I am" Well, kids as we were back then, didn't tend to think too much and dismissed this strange change. Again, we had a nice summer with Sophia. But after she left with her family, we talked about how all of us remembered her being black-haired, suntanned and blue eyed and how much she has changed....
I have so many of these kinds of stories! My favorite is actually my niece's. One day, when she was about 4 years old, she comes to my sister (her Mom), really upset. She said she missed her other Mother- the one who died-. She then goes on to describe a 50's style bathroom - right down to the pink, black and white tile pattern, and how she and her Mom died in a fire. She was 4! There was also the time when she was about 2 and started waving to "someone" in a dark empty room...
We lost our cat last March, she was 16 and we had to put her down after a long battle with liver cancer. She was a long haired black cat. Her ashes sit in a box on the mantelpiece with a black cat ornament on top. Several times in the morning the ornament seems to have moved positions overnight. Since then we've adopted two new cats, one grey tabby, one black and very white. We have a motion camera set up at the top of the steps that lead down to our front door. One day we checked the pics to find a black cat shaped shadow stretching in front of it. It didn't look like our new cats, but just like our old one. I miss her a lot and it's a comfort to imagine she's come to visit. I should also note the house I live in was once an abattoir, and at another point was a funeral home, but I've not really experienced anything else. If ghosts are real I'm not switched on to them. My cat must have had to poke me very hard to get me to notice her. XD
Similar story. I lost my cat about 3 years ago. I had to put him down after a long battle of liver issues as well. He was a short haired white cat. His ashes sit on a bookshelf in my room, with a little stuffed animal cat on top (wearing his collar.) I've also adopted a few cats since then, and I'll often wake up to the little stuffed animal somewhere else in my room. Eventually I realized that one of my new cats is totally obsessed with it, and goes to great lengths to pull it off the shelf lol. After my cat died, but before I got the new cats, it would often feel exactly like a cat had just jumped on my bed, and I would be like, oh here comes ..., then I'd be absolutely devastated realizing no one was actually there.

I love how some skeptical meanie is here to downvote people's stories. You may think it's bull all you want - this article isn't for you. This discussion isn't for you. Stop trying to be negative. Science can't explain why cats keep falling on all fours, yet it doesn't mean mother nature is "invalid", wtf...
Um... Science definately tells us how cats land on all fours though?
Load More Replies...More than once, I've almost overslept for one thing or another and I hear someone shout my name, "Michael!". Very loud and clear as a bell keeping me from oversleeping. Always no one is around to be shouting my name, and always it creeps me out.
I get that fairly often - usually if I'm falling asleep or starting to wake. I think I've read that it's quite usual and to do with the brain partly being in a semi-dream state and because we hear our own names called a lot.
Load More Replies...About a year ago, I had this weird dream that I was down at the Lake of the Ozarks by the water. And me, being completely scared of snakes, was trying to avoid going by the rocks where they usually stayed. All of a sudden, thousands of snakes were rushing up toward me, one of which bit my ankle. I woke up sweating from the nightmare. Later that day, I was bitten in the exact spot in the ankle by a snake.
When my daughter with 1 y.o died I used to wake up with the feeling of a elephant standing on my chest. One day I dreamed about her, she was in a beautiful green field, have some flowers there. She hug me, I touched her hair, and she left to go play. I didn't want let her go. I wake up with feeling of touching her hair in my hand and since that day I never dreamed about her again and my heart felt in peace. It gave me some comfort, although I still wish to have her visiting my dreams. It's been almost 10 years.
When I was 13, I'd had a dream where I was walking on the west side of the street a block from my house. I approached a side street on a small hill to my left that ended at an intersection with a stop sign. I crossed the street without looking and suddenly saw a turquoise truck with rusty side mirrors out of the corner of my eye. It ran the stop sign and hit me. Months later, I'm walking down that same street, same side with my friend Marcy. I got an uneasy feeling and asked her if we could cross to the East Side of the road. When we got to that intersection, here came a turquoise truck with rusty mirrors, brakes screeching as it ran the stop sign.
Time for a joke: A father is listening to his little girl say her bedtime prayers. "God Bless Mom, God Bless Dad, God Bless Grandpa, Goodbye Grandma." Her father thought that was odd, but let it go. The next morning, he found out the girl's Grandmother had died. A month later "God Bless Mom, God bless Dad, Goodbye Grandpa." The next morning, Grandpa died. Two months later, "God bless Mom, Goodbye Dad." The man panicked. He locked himself away at his work for the next 24 hours. Then, when nothing happened, he headed home relieved that he was still alive. He was greeted at the door by his wife. "Honey!" She said "Where have you been, it was awful!" He said "What happened?" She said "The mailman died on our front step yesterday."

All of a sudden a large shadow moved down the road towards us and another car behind us, it passed over us and disappeared. We pulled to the side of the road as did the car behind us, we all got out looking to the sky for what could have caused the shadow, couldn't see anything. It was the weirdest thing ever.
Some years ago as a self emloyed technician, I was driving to yet another customer and due to the heavy workload I was in a bit of a hurry, it had been like this for months and I was near the end of my tether. On the German motorways there is no speedlimit and I was pedal to the metal. Suddenly it was if I slipped out of the driving seat and hovered above the car following it when I saw the car swerve and hit the middle barrier overturning again and again, pieces falling off as it came to a crunching halt. Then I was back in the driving seat. I took that as a premonition and slowed down, turned off the motorway and went home, a few days later I closed up my shop and took another job.
My grandmother demanded she be buried without her spectacles on. My aunt insisted we put them on the corpse before the viewing and funeral, b/c of course "people wouldn't know her without her specs". And while I know the weather phenomena can account for it .... there was over 60 cm (2 feet) of snow in the three hours between my aunt doing that at the funeral home, and our leaving the graveyard on the day of burial. It snowed only in our township, and the snow stopped twice: When teh casket was carried in to church, and when it was carried across to the grave. That was it. We still call it Grandma's Revenge Blizzard. BTW, no joke, you drove 15 minutes in any direction, and nto a flake of snow was falling anywhere... So... yeah... Moral is, DO WHAT GRANDMA SAYS!
I've had a few freaky ones happen too - Like the time I had gotten a new job and a day before my job was due to start (everything had been confirmed repeatedly) I suddenly got a feeling I needed to call the company because something was wrong. Called them and they told me 'due to unforeseen budget cuts' they could no longer hire me. Oh, and the worst nightmare I ever had! I was napping on the sofa - I woke up and thought 'oh, this is just a dream'. I was napping on the sofa - I woke up and thought 'oh, this is just a dream'. I was napping on the sofa - I woke up and thought 'oh, this is just a dream'. I don't know how many times that repeated but when I finally woke up 'for real' I was incredibly relieved and totally freaked out. It took a few hours before I believed that I was really awake. Or maybe I'm still on that sofa...
Well, mine is not creepy but may raise an eyebrow or two: Starry 1987 night, I was 6YO and there was a huge power failure on my coast town where I was born. Everybody was out of their house because how hot it was inside. My family was big, like 8 or 9 living on the same house. Then I suddenly look to the sky, and see like 4 or 5 stars MOVING and doing random patterns. But not slowly moving, BLAZING FAST movement and not making shapes or stuff. I scream for my mom to notice, amd ahe looks up, and EVERYONE there does it too. Like 30 ppl with their children saw that, but what amazes me today of memebering that, is that when I asked what was it, they all said, really calm and sure, "ah, those are alien ships, dont you worry" Sadly my mom and great mom and dad are not anymore with us, but a pair of uncles and cousins do remember that vividly. How I wished now I would had a camera at hand back then
One morning, I got out of bed, went into the bathroom only to find a clump of my hair sticking straight up, about an inch long, on the top of my head. I had long long hair, hadn't had it cut for a long time, and certainly would not have cut a clump of hair on the top of my head. Only my mom and I lived there so I immediately accused her of having cut my hair while I slept. She was annoyed (who wouldn't be?) and denied it. I didn't even have scissors in my bathroom except for this silver nail clippers. Anyway, both weirded out but nothing to do be done, so I went in to the shower. Immediately noticed my feet were leaving little oil spots on the floor of the shower. Inspecting my feet, I saw round oil spots. WTH? Of course I called my mom back in and showed her the oil (well the spots, we later determined it was oil). She checked outside and in the garage - no oil. Never did figure it out.
When my brothers and I were kids we had this big yellow tom cat. I actually saved the cat when he was just a tiny kitten from a dog who had already killed his sister. We named him Lucky and the 3 of us were very attached to him. He was an indoor outdoor cat but always came in at night. Eventually we ended up moving to another town. Of course we brought Lucky with us but he disappeared shortly after the move. Months went by without a single sighting. We were heartbroken. Christmas rolled around and my mom asked us what we wanted. My youngest brother said all he wanted was for Lucky to come back. That cat showed up at our back door on Christmas Eve. We showered him with love and fed him every delicious thing we could find in the fridge. He spent the night inside, but wanted out again Christmas morning. We begged my mom not to let him out, but she said it wasn't fair to force him to be indoors if he he wanted out. She opened the door. He ran out and we never saw him again.
Aww Lucky! That's so sweet that all your brother wanted for Christmas was Lucky! Hopefully some nice people took him in.

In the 8th grade I had a dream where I was talking to a classmate about summer camp. About two weeks later we were in English class and ended up talking verbatim as in the dream about summer camp. She even wore the same outfit as in the previous dream. It still freaks me out 20+ years later
Years ago my cat dissapeared and never returned. I've got a new one back then. But I swear my past cat start showing in our Summer house as a ghost. I saw a shadow of cat walking under the dinner table, or feeling her snuggling up to my legs while I sat at the PC. Then I once saw her by the corner of my eyes jup on the Office table and walk on it to me. I thought that was my real living cat but when I turn around in the chair, there was no cat, and my living one sleeped in different room... And the yesterday I laid in my apartment in bed and on the floor I saw a shadow and glooming cat eyes. I said "come on, hop on in to my bed." but then that shadow dissapeared. And again, my cat was sleeping in different room
I once had got an amazon parcel of my new pendrive. On it I copied the game I had to give my friend in exchange of a game he had. I then asked my brother to take me to his house on his motorcycle. Halfway through, there was a speed bumper and I felt the pendrive fall from my pocket on to the road. I screamed at my brother to stop and went back hoping it hadnt been crushed by any vehicle. I looked all around but couldnt find it. I was sad and disheartened. We turned around and went back. Fast forward to a few weeks later I was trying on a pant I had bought the previous day and felt something in the front pocket. I took it out and lo and behold, it was the same pen drive! The weirdest part was that it had both mine as well as my friend's game although the exchange never took place! It bewilders me to this day.
Once when I was young, maybe 10 or 11, I was really tired after a long car ride, I walked to the bottom of the banister/stairs, and closed my eyes, just for a moment. I opened my eyes after that second, and I was in my bed. I had been dropped off by a friend and my parents were both asleep so no one could have carried me upstairs. It wasn't a dream, because I distinctly remember that I tripped on the way up my front stairs (There are stairs leading up to my door) and it hurt. When I woke up, there was a bandage on my foot and I was in my pj's (not in my outfit from the day before)
A week or so ago I was watching a WWII documentary on TV. I got up to get something from the kitchen and when I walked close to the TV I smelled cigarette smoke. No one in our house smokes cigarettes. I'd smelled cigarette smoke from time to time in the house over the past 5 years or so and my 19 year old daughter has told me she's smelled it too. Always joked that it was ghosts. This time I jokingly said out loud something like, "Oh, Come on!" "You know we don't allow smoking". Then finished walking to the kitchen. While there I had the thought that maybe it was my father, who smoked, and who also like WWII documentaries. So I went back to the living room and said, "I'm sorry". "I know you're here, let's hang out and watch this." And then I smelled the smoke again.
okay, so I had this one dream about getting scratched by a cat(I'm allergic)on my left arm when I woke up I had a scratch on my left arm all swollen. I definitely do not have a cat or a doggy door.
One day in January 2016 my husband asked me if I was ok. I said I was fine. Throughout the day he asked me if I was ok. "Yes I am", I would reply. I then asked him why he was asking me. He said that something was up because I seemed not to be myself. A day later I got a frantic email to contact my younger sister & also one of my brother's in law. It turned out that my twin sister had taken her life. RIP dear twin. I miss her so very much. 😢 my twin. In early March 2916 my mum took ill & I pondered whether to fly out to South Africa or not, if hubby & I could get a flight the same day. My younger sister, in South Africa, advised us to wait a bit. During the day my husband said that I was not myself & it was worse near midnight. We got a call an hour later - mum had passed away. With my mum - she sensed something was up with my dad. As he was going into hospital he kissed her and said 'goodbye love'. He had never done that... He knew he wouldn't come out....
I had many strange things in my life. When I was a kid (less than 5 yo) I went with my grandma to another village to visit her sister and we passed close to some forest. I asked grandma " Who is this lady in long dress looking at me and this guy in the shadow behind her in hat?" She haven't seen anyone. When we came to our host house she told her sister about it. She said that there was old forgotten Cemetary in this forest. Also I probably died in my sleep when I was a kid, I saw my body, and I was going up and the world was the same but a lot more colorful and beautiful, and there was some incredibly beautiful music around. We saw twice UFO with our friends. Many believable witnesses. I had some clairvoyant moment about two times in my life. When I visited one school and I knew i will be attending it. And I did. After a year, there had to be a hateful teacher in another school which forced me to change school (me - good student!)
The second time was when I first met the love of my life and long-time companion, we are together 25 years and hope for more. I was then with another for 5 years, he was rather disturbed then and on psychotropics and I saw his boots and had thought " We are destined to be together, I will see those boots for many years" I was surprised by this thought. But eventually, we were together and very, very happy. He was healed and never had any psychological problems at all.

Everyone in the family thought that is was just an imaginary friend. but then she told her mom that her grandpa wasn't alive and that he died in the crash. My friend's mom's grandpa died in a car crash, but there is no way that the three-year-old would have known that her great-grandpa died in a car crash.
Looong story: I went on a first date with a guy on warm August afternoon/evening, not a cloud in sight. For some reason I didn't like him enough to go for a 2nd date, so I decided to play around and try to think of a way to freak him out enough for him not to ask me on a 2nd date. So I 'decided' to be a witch. I told him I was one, and that I had the ability to turn the weather around. The story itself was inspired by some other coincidences I had throughout my life where I'd semi-jokingly say I actually changed the weather. Back to the story- of course he didn't believe me. I didn't check the forecasts, it was a dry and hot summer, no signs of a cloud, but I told him confidently just wait, I'll make it rain. He looked at the sky and laughed. Not long after, some clouds started emerging on the horizon. Pointed at them, said See those, they'll pour a lot of rain on us. We went for a walk, and lo and behold, the sky was covered in clouds not long after, it was also after sunset. -->
I replied Oh it will, let's just find shelter, I don't want to get wet. As soon as we came to a nearby rock and stood, it started raining. I began laughing, said This is just light rain, let's make it harder. Said it a couple of times, until a fullsize storm, and just observed his face color, trying not to burst into laughter. Out of the blue, I said You know what would make this perfect? Thunder. 2sec later a massive thunder struck, he lost his s**t and said he believed me, now can I please make it stop. The shower stopped after about 5ish minutes, we went home, he never called back, I have no idea what happened but now we both have stories to tell haha.

But some dark figure was moving in the backyard. He came up to the window & looked down at me. Only a thin screen separated us. It was the grim reaper. He wore a black monk's hood & robes. It was not my time, yet. A map appeared of Texas on the opposite wall. A spot appeared towards the middle of the map. I looked back, and the death angel was gone. The next day, I found out that the night before, a gas well blew out at Brenham where the spot appeared, killing two people by fire. Several years later, they discovered the Otsi mummy in the Alps. The mummy had skin that looked just like the reaper's face. The skin was that of someone who had died long ago & had completely dried out and wrinkled up. Scary, but I was not scared for some reason.
I have 2 stories. When I was a senior in high school, I started getting this feeling of dread. I had a feeling that I was going to die. A week before my graduation my family learned that my great grandmother had passed away. The dread was for her. The other thing has happened this year. My grandmother and great uncle died in August and October of 2003 respectfully. I moved into an apartment by myself in 2018 and ever since I have had multiple dreams of them being alive. I had not dreamed about them in years prior to the move.

When i was about six my mom and dad went to look at a house next to a gas station. For some reason we went to look at the gas stations office where I saw a bottle of Old Brown. Ten years later my dad gets a job as a manager of that same gas station and we move into the house next door, but when I remarked "oh, I remember this place" they looked shocked and remarked that we've never been here before. So I told them what the house looked like on the inside before we entered and it was just like I remembered. The Office was also the same, including the bottle of Old Brown. Yea, we don't talk about how I recall a place and event with perfect memory that never happened. Hey Matrix, glitch much?
When i way younger (about 8 or 9 i think) i was watching movies on our tv and my grandmother walked in the kitchen from outside (there's 2 doors to the kitchen, one was on the living beside where the tv is and the other 2 ft away to the right) and she just looks... wrong. She's walking so slowly like she was limping and she looks bloated and i know that she's old but she's not that weak. So i shouted "grandma where are you?" and she said shes outside so i just slowly turned off the tv and ran the f**k out to where she really is. It was broad daylight. I dont know what it means but now i think that looked like someone was weaeing her.
When i was younger i saw someone behind me while i was f*****g around with the tv. Looked like a girl, wearing a tank top, short shorts all gray. Has hair about shoulder length, thick bangs covering the eyes. So i just star3d for a few minutes and bolted out

Have you been diagnosed with something like epilepsy? Weird electrical activity in my brain has caused a similar thing to happen to me, but just the once thankfully.
Load More Replies...I've had very many, but here are my two most major ones. (1) When we first moved into my current house, I was a preteen. One night, a couple months after moving in, I was going to bed, and felt terrified. I couldn't figure out why until I looked at my door. I unlike most kids have always felt more comfortable keeping my door open, unless dressing. So I stared at my door, and felt as if there were a sinister, male spirit watching me. I was terrified af. That was the first ever night I slept in the living room. Well the day after the next (I refused to enter my room for a whole day) I finally got approval from my mother to hang my posters up on the wall, which helped me feel safe. Kinda like a whole "This stuff means this place belongs to me, you're not welcome!!" Type deal. Well anyways, I was hanging things up, and my tacks went missing when I sat them at the foot of my deal. Just gone. I looked everywhere for about an hour, until they showed back up exactly where I sat them.
(2) This only made me further believe I was haunted, so I finished hanging up my posters. To this day, I have never had my walls bare for more then a few minutes as I changed the posters to new ones that fit my new interests, and never felt that scared again. Since then I put most of it down to my paranoia, but I could never explain the tacks. (((Story 2!!))) A year or so ago, I was walking my dog, as that's always been my chore. Well I was walking outside with my dog, I saw a large snake at the foot of my steps. The only I really remember about it was it was huge, and a mottled grey. I was scared af of course. My dog, a simple weener dog, leaned forward and sniffed it. I screeched and pulled her back. I really only remember looking down, seeing my dog on her tiptoes because of how hard I was holding her. I picked her up and jumped as high as I could away, landing on the ground in front of my house. The snake disappeared, apparently slithering off under my dads grill cover, as I
Load More Replies...I tend to have a lot of vivid dreams. One night as a child I had a dream about my brothers and my dad. We were being chased by someone coming down a mountain. We got down from the mountain and made it into a house where my dad protected us with a shotgun. Yes, an obvious dream from a child about his father protecting him and his brothers from evil. But this is the strange part. Nothing out of the ordinary happens my entire life. Nothing supernatural or weird or anything like that. Just other dreams like anyone would have, the occasional coincidence or eerie feeling one might expect when walking alone in the dark. No real ghosts or aliens or contact with the dead, not even a hint of ESP.
Who else gets annoyed by "Me and my buddy", "Me and some kids", " Me and my father". My mother would always reprimand me if I said something like this by saying: "The dirt usually goes in front of the broom."
Yeah, all nice stories, but no way to prove their validity. They could be (and very likely are) all fantasies.
Just because you don't believe it, doesn't mean they're invalid experiences. You weren't there. You don't know for sure. "I deny nothing, but doubt everything", Lord Byron.

It's probably a mix of things - fake, our brains doing weird things to us (because they do) and things we just don't have answers for... yet.

I get that fairly often - usually if I'm falling asleep or starting to wake. I think I've read that it's quite usual and to do with the brain partly being in a semi-dream state and because we hear our own names called a lot.

Load More Replies...this is really interesting but this has happened to me about 20 times but at some moments for maybe 30 seconds I feed this surge through my body and I know exactly whats going to happen for that ike 30 seconds and then its over and i stop breathing and have to go to the hospital
Have you been diagnosed with something like epilepsy? Weird electrical activity in my brain has caused a similar thing to happen to me, but just the once thankfully.
