While dark humor isn't a new concept, the name was only introduced in 1935 by the French surrealist Andre Breton. Dark humor jokes include themes that are usually considered taboo or hard to discuss and often include a touch of irony.
The most popular examples are Shakespeare’s writings, which often viewed tragic moments with a lighter side, and the famous works of British comedian Monty Python.
Our brains have to work quite hard to understand irony - sarcastic messages load our craniums with double the computing compared to usual forms of language.
So, having the sense of it basically means that your brain is more adept at solving creative problems. However, if you use it too much, other people might confuse your dark sense of humor for sociopathic behavior.

ZOMG. Mind scientifically blown to bits. So THIS is why we never see a happy snake; biologically they don't even know which end is up. Like Chris Rock as the Zebra in Madagascar when he too had a biological epiphany: "Am I white with black stripes or black with white stripes??" And my own biological epiphany: "Am I just "with" stupid as the infamous T-shirt declares? Or am I actually the stupid one in this duo???" Sadly, there is proof on a near daily basis that I am not just "with" stupid but am, in fact, ate-UP with the stupidness. A check of my Permanent Record shows I think and do more stupid before breakfast than most full-time professional morons do in a lifetime.

I've done this before. In middle school and freshman of high school. Made a number of upperclassmen friends this way.

I get this at Xmas time I wrap all my presents for people to match my decorations then I'm sad when I have to give them away and get assorted colours and patterns that don't coordinate with my tree. I think I may have issues!!

I'd agree if it was just the first two panels, but the last two show him accepting it after initial confusion and their interaction continuing as normal. It definitely brought out some people who need to be educated in the comment section though. I say all this as a trans guy that often is the only person to defend trans people in the comments.

He's trans/crossdresser. After initial shock to straight guy, he is so straight he starts a "which one is the biggest"-contest - which is more important than sexual orientation, bc size... And bc trans guy is also a guy, s/he joins in. The joke is, that size always matters to men. And competition... Explained. :)
