That may be your belief, (that God says homosexuality is wrong), and I don't think you should be downvoted for sharing, but try rephrasing. Something along the lines of "I personally believe God created Men and Women to be Together for a romantic relationship not Men with Men.. etc... But, They are human, they are fearfully and wonderful made and it is completely valid for them to be homosexual despite my beliefs. Im a young Christian raised/surrounded by conservative beliefs, and I'm still figuring out what I believe in regards to LBGTQ+. But, I have a friend who's changed their pronouns and thinks they might be bisexual and I just know that I love them and respect them all the same. They're a beautiful, awesome person and I support them. I just don't want Christians to be having a bad name for ourselves because few people (I'm not saying you, just generally) being disrespectful and haughty of other human beings. Christianity is about love- loving others as God loves us- but sadly some "christians" want to make it all about "im right, you're wrong, let me argue with you" so not just to my fellow Christians, but also to anyone else reading this, respect everyone! The bible says a lot of contradictory things. But, the bible says to stone a man that lies with another man to death in Leviticus. And at least one of the new testament writers wrote a ton of homophobia. The bible also says that you can beat your slaves with a rod into a coma, and as long as they wake up in a couple of days, it's ok. The bible says to kill people for working on the sabbath day even if they're just moving sticks. It's an evil, abhorrent, disgusting, fictional fantasy book. We all need to dump these evil superstitions and myths. We need to admit the harsh truths about the bible. It is pro slavery, pro rape, anti woman, anti science, and anti gay. Trying to spin this superstition to make it more palatable would be harmful in my opinion, because it will keep many people believing in these detrimental superstitions. Much better to just dump it in trash and value science and evidence.

Southern Baptists are the largest Protestant Christian group. They are against homosexuality. Catholics are also Christians (unless you ask the Southern Baptists, of course) and they are against homosexuality. Thus, for those who identify as "Christian" - the majority are against anything LGBTQ. Do Not make it sound like only the fringe Christian groups are against gays. Do your research... and maybe find another belief system that truly values all people.

You're correct. And it's because the bible explicitly states that you are supposed to stone gay people to death in Leviticus. The bible is a huge problem. Anyone making the case that the bible is ok with gay people is living in yet another fictional world. We should take the bible for what it is, pure evil, and dump it. All of this spin to try to make it look good is just silly and detrimental.

Thanks. I try. Religion tends to harm many more people than it helps in our modern world. It had uses to our ancestors for banding tribes together, but now the tribalism and falsehoods are bringing massive problems.

Hey, I think we think the same thing! I agree with it serves a purpose in social evolution- of banding people together in an ingroup to help in survival- but I also read a really good essay that it also is influential for making some people "moral" who might not otherwise be.

It shows support of the harmful misconception that people choose their orientation, which enables certain religious folk to paint sexualities they don’t like as conscious choices and hitch them to the idea of sin.
