Duolingo is a language-learning platform with a website, an app, and a sociopathic owl mascot that threatens users to continue their courses.
From passive-aggressive notifications after a period of inactivity to visiting your bedroom while you’re asleep, it knows no limits.
As the owl became more and more confident in its wicked ways, some 300 million Duolingo users started creating memes to tell about the times it came hunting for them.
That’s right. It doesn't matter if they’re learning conjunctions or idioms; the owl is always watching and waiting. And if they haven’t completed their daily task by midnight, it’s a bloody nightmare.

I got a notify from duolingo that said 'Hi, its Duo! Looks like you missed your Italian lesson. You know what happens now!'. And then the next day on the news it said 'Lina Andrews was killed yesterday. Killer is undiscovered and no weapon was seemed to be in use. Police claim to have seen a note that says, Do your lessons, Aliza!' But my name is Aliza, and my BFF was Lina Andrews.

I SWEAR DUOLINGO I WONT SLACK ON MY GERMAN ANYMORE... also the other day I got an email from duolingo since I forgot to do my german all week and it says: "Looks like there's no progress to report! My.mom, who's an elderly lady who doesn't know so.much about devices and apps has been using Duolingo for learning English. It has been like 6 months now. She was very excited about it at first, now I often hear her yelling at the phone, arguing with the app haha it's priceless xD

Duolingo is scary... my friend and I joke about it a lot and one when I texted him saying Duolingo is watching I got a notification on my computer saying Duolingo notifications didn’t seem to be helping and that they would stop sending them... Duolingo was blocked from sending me notifications...
