Have you ever had the Sunday Scaries? It's that sense of dread that starts creeping in, unsuspected, over a weekend when you know you'll eventually need to go back into the office again.
This was a very familiar feeling to me as an attorney at a law firm that, coupled with a dark sense of humor, I needed a creative outlet for. That's what led to the creation of these comics, featuring stressed-out stick figures with odd head shapes, which are reflections of many of my actual experiences as a lawyer.
I hope these comics serve as a form of therapy–like, a much quieter version of listening to death metal after a demanding day—for other attorneys, working professionals, or anyone who needs a break from the daily grind.

Asperger. I relate. Either do work or do social, but not on the same day.
i refer to my tolerance over people battery as my social battery too! I actually hid in a room with just me and my father once
THIS IS SO TOTALLY ME!!! Though I get really really tired and CRANKY. I have to get away because I don't want to inflict my bitchiness on people.
... I think it's less the fancy office and more being able to feed yourself and house your family... stupid stuff like that.
Its a choice, i think he is unsure of his choice as a lawyer, well, lot of nasty stuff can happened if you become a lawyer. Look at his eyes, he is almost done.

Fortunately, at least in Europe this kind of contract is void anyway. Clauses that defy common law, that are surprising or that one-sidedly disadvantage the customer are void. I am always thinking about that when I scroll through EULAs that have been designed by US lawyers and merely translated. You are just accept them over here, they are not binding anyway.
Lawyer? Rather engineer! It freaks me off that some recipes refer to cups, tablespoons and the like. Either be precice (grams, litres) or relative (twice the amount of butter than the amount of sugar).
I'm assuming you're not entirely familiar with the metric system... 1 teaspoon is 5ml, a tablespoon is 20ml, all "cups" and "spoons" have precise quantities. Also, in a typical set of kitchen measuring spoons or cups, they are all made to these precise measurements. So, although it may seem vague, it's actually very specific. Although handfuls and pinches....

"What size hand are we using" HAHHAHAA Yes. That's... pretty much exactly why I can't cook/bake worth a damn... "what's this pinch business? What do you mean stir until it looks good?? wtf?"
Pretty sure my recipe using gram and ml, it must be an old one, nowadays everybody have weighing scale and measuring cup.
Or they wont give the real recipe, yep, nobody wont give an authenthic delicious recipe, opening a restaurant seems more profitable and more reasonable, so keep trying figuring it out.

Many people work sliding shifts as well (4 days on 4 off etc.).
Load More Replies...I wonder that whenever I have to drive anywhere during business hours lol
Many ppl work different shifts, only office workers have a seemingly set schedule and frankly many bigger outfits have shifts depending on the work. Bankers hours are a thing, I used to work at a bank and ppl gave me s**t for working "normal" hours.
I hate tv, its a bad influence for parents, thats why they are forcing their kid to become a lawyer or such jobs, if i can, i'll change it to 24/7 real neutral documentary film. For god sake, theres no such life, its a complete lie.
My husband is furloughed from a litigation support company. All the paper and electronic paperwork, the big board displays used in court, they do. Most of the clerical work related to cases is sent to them. A lot of lawyers wait until the last moment then send in 25 binders with a 100+ number tabs and a dozen custom tabs with over 300 pages in each binder and expect 30 exact copies first thing in the morning. After they sent the job in after 3 PM.

If he does, they'll all think he's overdressed. 😆

Sigh - maybe someone should give IT the money to upgrade services. Maybe
I upvoted this because it has a pie chart. Otherwise it probably would've gotten nothing. I love pie charts.
Oh my god this is me in a nutshell when school meetings ended/got cancelled lol
Wait, you went to those? Every single time I tried my social anxiety got the better of me and I didn’t go ;-;
Load More Replies...This is a huge problem in the United States. People should be able to take the time they earned.
True. Employers seem to think of time off as a gift, not an earned right.
Load More Replies...Not a lawyer, but if people keep coming up to me with work during lunch, I'll have to start punching them.
Don't worry, lawyers are far from the only profession that does that... Trust me, I know this for a fact - and I'm a MD... (okay, I'm not an MD, but I could have been, and it would still be true)...
My dude... a pizza hut pizza has more than nutrition than a grilled cheese... someone give this man a salad or something
Hahaha!! I can almost hear your voice saying this!
Load More Replies...At first I read "sue me" which would have been appropriate for this thread. Lol.

I got more work done working from home, but I enjoy literally leaving work now that we are back to normal
I'm a barred lawyer, whatever you do people, don't go to law school, massive waste of time.

Load More Replies...OMG, this is so my FIL who lives with us. In the middle of a zoom meeting with an important client Dad will step in front of the camera, thrust his hand in my face and demand, "Fix this remote. It's broken!" "Dad, that's the cordless phone and I'm in a meeting." "Oh, sorry to be such a burden on you - I guess I'm just not important."
Explain to him the Eisenhower Decision Matrix of Important/Unimportant crossed with Urgent/Not Urgent. One can debate the importance of either the remote or its owner, but that situation is not at all urgent.

You will not believe me but my best score on not showering is 10 weeks. And, no, I don't scare away my colleagues, and Axe stock isn't up because of me. I've been in a gypsum upper body shell for 8 months in a row, with one gently sponge wash after 4 months when the shell was renewed. Then you realise that our focus on personal hygiene is somewhat overrated.
Yep, I read that it's actually bad to shower everyday. It can damage your skin or remove the helpful bacteria, as well as the harmful. Apparently it's best to wash when you need to (dirty, sweaty, etc.) and not out of habit
Load More Replies...I just see the door handle wiggling and just start saying no right then. Repeat firmly until intruder is gone.
"Do this, it's very important!" "So was the last job you handed me. So which one do you want first? I can't work on both at the same time." "Uh, guy sitting across from me, do you have some time?"
I would “accidentally staple my hand so I would have to leave early for the doctors
That's not just in law, thought. Insurance is the same way.
only downvoted this cause its sucky that people have to go through this

Load More Replies...That reminds me of lawyer joke... Young lawyer dies and goes to heaven. When he gets there he starts giving St. Peter a hard time. "I'm too young to be dead already! I'm only 32! You've made a mistake!" . "I don't think so, " St. Peter replies. "According to your hours billed, you're 85!"
We just believe in slow torture nowadays. Immediate torture and death is just so medieval
I've worked in law firms for over 10 years, so I can relate! Thanks for the laughs, keep up the great work :).
These are exactly the reasons why I left my lawyer life and never looked back
Gave up private practice to work in insurance... relate to ALL of these... even in the new line of work -__- I keep dreaming of going to another country where work/life balance is a thing.
It is very boring for me, talk to me! ★★ Write me. ⚡ Maybe we will make friends ⚡⚡ ==>> ︆︆v︆︆.︆︆︆︆ht/ayLI
