I Created A Photo Project Called “Farmily” Where I Capture Families And All Their Animals (30 Pics)
You always see family portraits on the walls of people’s homes, but for me, the family doesn’t stop with the people. What about all of our furred and feathered “Farmily” members? They are just as much a part of the family as any human component… so, I decided to change the way people look at family portraits! I travel the country photographing full “Farmily” portraits. We include everybody from the largest horse, to the smallest guinea pig, mouse, or snake.
In November of 2019, our beautiful little puppy joined the family. We named her Pixel. She is a black and white Australian shepherd. We spend a lot of our summers doing “Farmily” photo tours, where we go across the country photographing farms and pets along the way. Of course, little Pixel came with us on all of our 2020 tours. You can find her in some of the photos down below!

Each of our furred or feathered (and sometimes scaled) friends has its own unique personality, and each one is photographed in a way that will bring out that individual soul. We create a moment in time as it is right now… a moment that will never come again, as things change and animals come and go… many of my clients have me come back year after year to document the changes in their lives as time goes on.
I am the only full farm photographer in the world, that I know of. My goal is to travel the globe to photograph the different farms and lifestyles of people in many countries. One day I will write a book with all of the portraits and stories that go along with them.
The cat is pissed off because the dog is on the blanket at Mom's feet. Pecking order.
Load More Replies...A lot of patience, and a little bit of magic ;)
Load More Replies...at first glance, the cover of the book she's reading looks like "50 Shades of Gray".
Hahahaha, it is!! Well, it's the second one... "50 shades darker". If you notice, all of the animals in the image are also gray, so we had fun playing with the theme.
Load More Replies...How in the hell are they able to get a photo with everyone standing still?
Wow just amazing managing to get all those cats and dogs to stay in one place for a photo. Great job!
Due to COVID, we were unable to do as many tours as we typically might do, but we did get out on the road and visit some great farms anyway. Pixel had a wonderful time at every farm we visited, and we managed to sneak her into all of our full farm portraits! See if you can spot her in some of the images—some are harder than others!
If I were in that family, I'd treasure this photo for the rest of my life.
A lot of patience, and a little bit of magic :D

Load More Replies...Pretty sure those are called children... (joking, of course, gorgeous picture)
lol, children are also part of the "Farmily" pets, and their people. This is one very large tribe/family in Tanzania.
Load More Replies...So they have about a few hundred goats, two giraffes, way to many children, a bull, baboon, and a few doggos. A big family

It's amazing to me how attentive all the horses are to what is going on..
Vancouver Island, Bc Farm Tour
Thankyou. Loved these pictures. Backdrops, scenery. Don’t know how you got the animals to behave, but they were all enjoyable to see.
Almost the exact same as #17. I figured these were partially photoshopped. Still an awesome project and I am sure these are the animals from these families but it explains how they are all so well posed.
Fall In Beautiful British Columbia
The ducks heading north for the summer ... that must have been hard to capture.
The colors of their animal pack range from off-white to brown and everything in between.
These are lovely, but it makes me wonder if the animals are composited into the portraits, otherwise it's quiet the choreography feat to have these lovely sentient creatures to stand in their particular spots for a photoshoot! Also the use of HDR is a little strong, but makes the picture vibrant nevertheless with over-saturated colors.
These are so pretty! I love all of the animals, especially the horses!
Beautiful families indeed. The horrific reality is that the furry and feathery members of the family will have their throats cut, and their flesh be devoured by the human members. Well, humanity NEVER lived in peace ......as I say: the way we dine, the way we live.
You would be surprised. Most of the people who hire me to photograph their farms really love their animals and don't eat them. Many of these farms are rescues, and many of these animals have come from horrific backgrounds and will live out their lives in happiness.
