Dreams are often fleeting and mysterious experiences. For some, they are merely nighttime adventures that fade in the morning, but for me, they are an endless source of inspiration.
My name is Elianne van Turennout, a 31-year-old photographer and photo manipulation artist from Groningen, Netherlands. As a single mother with ADHD, I find my creative outlet in transforming my strange dreams into surreal images. In this article, I share how I turn my nightmares into magical artworks and embrace the power of our imagination.
Step into my dreams, and who knows, you might find inspiration to turn your own nightmares into magical reality.

Dreams as a Source of Inspiration
Every night, I enter a world full of strange and wonderful occurrences. What may seem terrifying to others is a treasure trove of creative ideas for me. My dreams are often a blend of the impossible: Surreal self-portraits, animals with human traits, and landscapes that defy the laws of nature. These images form the foundation of my art.

ADHD: A Unique Lens on Creativity
Living with ADHD presents unique challenges and opportunities. My mind is constantly buzzing with ideas and images, making it both a blessing and a challenge to focus on one project at a time. However, this also means that I see the world through a different lens, often noticing details and connections that others might miss. This heightened sensitivity to the world around me significantly influences my art, adding layers of complexity and depth to my work.

Surreal Art: Bridging Reality and Fantasy
My work aims to make people think and stimulate their own imagination. By combining the familiar with the unknown, I challenge the viewer to look beyond the superficial reality. Each artwork is an invitation to step into my dream world and blur the line between reality and fantasy.

Single Mother and Artist: Finding the Balance
As a single mother, finding time and energy for my art is a challenge. My daughter is my greatest source of inspiration and motivation. Her boundless imagination and curiosity remind me why I started transforming my dreams into art. Balancing motherhood, ADHD, and my artistic pursuits is delicate, but it is this very challenge that makes my creative process so special.

Time management and waiting for the moon are amazing and thought provoking. Good job. Dream on!!!!
Cool photos, don't know why you have any downvotes,as of now, fixed one upvote. 👍
Creative, well executed compositions. The down vote contingent can sück it.
If this were a series of works presented in my class for criticism I'd say this, "I feel you are creative and executed your ideas with excellent skills, however many of your design choices are questionable and don't help your work". Example 15 I am left wanting more of a visual explanation of titled growth. 14, the relative sizing feels off. 13 and 12 appear to have much less time and effort into it (ha pun intended). 1 is beautiful but too symmetrical and central. 3 the umbrella doesn't tilt properly to align with the rest of the perspective. I could go on. Generally I think the artist needs to reacquaint with the basics before breaking the rules for each.....disruptive to view works but in a negative way, not working. Still an up vote as I said the work was executed well
