I am an experimental portrait photographer. I use vintage lenses, DIY lenses, and weird techniques to create portrait images. I love to create images that bring a new way of looking at the world. Also, I am a YouTuber who creates videos explaining my experiments and discoveries and I really enjoy doing collaborations with other artists that are not photographers.
Some months ago, I was scrolling through Instagram and discovered the #DrawThisInYourStyle trend, a kind of challenge between illustrators that recreate other artists' drawings in their own style. I was amazed by the quality of the art I saw and I was wondering how I could collaborate with all those amazing artists, as I was not an illustrator but a photographer.
I decided to first contact an illustrator asking if they wanted to redraw one of my portraits in their own style. I told her that I would create a YouTube video about the process and create the first episode with a team of my favorite artists. She said yes and the result she sent me was so amazing that I started to contact every illustrator I liked on Instagram. One month later, I had 16 participants and I had a great looking video of their processes.
The #DrawThisInYourStyle challenge has been SUPER fun and I'm glad I was able to organize this cool collaboration with all those amazing artists. Check the video regrouping process for the 16 artists! I hope you'll like it.

By far the most accurate. Which may not be to some folks’ taste. I like it though.
This is the most true to the original. I have noticed that many artists have enhanced the lips and most have disregarded the neck details.
Looks like it could be acrylic, but they could’ve drawn it with a computer digitally.
Load More Replies...Loved them all. Wish you had added which were digitally drawn versus those that were drawn with manual tools.
Check out their webtoons https://www.webtoons.comen/challenge/the-uniques/list?title_no=207400
Load More Replies...More stylized than the top one. Almost a caricature with the emphasis added to the nose and eye.
I would not think they were teh same woman from the illustration. A daughter maybe.
Load More Replies...I came to the comments to say that exactly thing. Very Pocahontas-isk.
Load More Replies...im also really impressed with the person who had these instagram photos in the first place
This one look like the model, good job! I'm not a fan of the way the lips are drawn, but I like what the artist did with the warm tones.
Too me it is a bit too harsh . The original looked soft, dreamy. The artist lost that feeling to me.
I like this one! One of the few that actually show a resemblance to the model. There's still stuff to fix, but you can see that the artist actually bothered to try and get some of the facial features right. The shape of the face is pretty accurate. The shape of the eyes and eyebrows are similar, even if the eyebrows are too high. The nose is a bit too small but the shape is correct. Mouth is off but show the same expression. Good job overall!
All i can draw is dragons and still life like uhmmmm excuse me HOW
Wowow! I'm more fascinated with how pretty you are than I am the fantastic art!
Everyone misses this models defining face and takes away from her.
portrays a different personality though... but nonetheless, it's lovely ♥
Actually....I like the photo better. I like the light exploding from within and the haunting eyes. The drawing seems more like the light is hitting at a curious angle.
Another wonderful one, but a few of these take away some uniqueness of the models. That’s just my opinion- but how wonderful to love real life (i know these are all manipulated a bit though)
this could have been done far better....those eyes needed to get their fair time in the picture.
Whoever it is, it’s not the model on the left...
Load More Replies...Pretty but why downplay her distinctive nose? Unless the model asked for it.. 🤷🏻♀️
Or the artist didn't quite know how to bring justice to it and make it look good
Load More Replies...I do wish the neck was shorter but I like the color of the earrings and how they pop! The face is also really pretty along with the hair. Overall this is a really good drawing. 😁👍
Cool set up with this portrait. As women a lot of us rely on our hair to feel more beautiful and a shot like this really forces the eye to appreciate her beautiful face! Also, great choice with the red lip and turquoise earrings.
The face is totally diff. The hair is similar.
Load More Replies...She looks like a cross between Kerri Lyn Russell and a young \Demi Moore.
I agree there's absolutely nothing in common in common between the two beside the color scheme. This is probably the least resembling of the lot.
Load More Replies...Although #11 (it's now showing as #1-The gal in the short dark hair with dark t-shirt and jacket) the most realistic, this one is my favorite. Love the style of the art.

The art style is interesting but the end product looks nothing like the model. The facial structure is completely different.
The eyes are severe and tired in the drawing, whereas they are contemplative with a touch of sadness in the picture.
Load More Replies...The eyes seemed strange at first, but then I decided it just added to the overall creep-factor in all the right ways.
It drives me crazy that the model has such beautiful eyes which could have looked so nice in the portrait. Instead on the picture she has some odd alien huge eyes which totally kill the mood for me.
Looks too different from the model. They look like different people in the same pose.
Yes.. like I commented on a couple others.. these models have unique looks and a few of the drawings erase some of that uniqueness.
Load More Replies...Um, artistic nose job? This one should learn from the very pretty but much better proportioned version of the same girl above.
While I like her interpretation - the band from the tank is either too thin or there’s too much skin - creates this manly feature that doesn’t match up with the rest of the illustration!
What is the point of portrait that does not carry any resemblance to the model at all?
No, I agree - it's exaggerated compared to the others.
Load More Replies...Cool drawing style but the model didn’t need to have the extra sexiness added in the drawing.. she’s very beautiful how she is!
I've never seen pictures like these that have been called "portraits"
What an egregious dearth of style. What a sad consistency of inability to capture character, lack of insight, variety of technique or viewpoint. Next time ask one artist to draw it 12 times.
I was really confused by this post. A photographer superimposes a bunch of weird things over his photos. Then asks all these artists to work for free by copying his photos? The result is a lot of cartoons, most of which look nothing like the photographic models. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to have gained from this. Am I just too dumb to understand the artistic-ness or something?
I love this post. The photographer is great and the artists he chose to draw his portraits are great. All of the models this photographer uses are wonderful as well. They are all stunning and possess a certain unconventional kind of beauty.
“You know what you would look like if you were prettier? I mean... you know what you would look like if you had bigger eyes and lips and we got rid of that big nose of yours?!” - every artist on this post. She should be offended that not one of these artists thought her real features were good enough.
Would have been neat to see the same portrait done by each artist in their style.
"I asked 16 artists to draw my portrait photos in their style, and most of them just drew absolutely random girls who look nothing like me in their style."

Despite my comments sounding like criticism I actually enjoyed the drawing styles. I just liked a lot of the photographs more. If separate from the inspirations I would rave a bit more. Or maybe if they were original characters.. I don’t mean to sound so pessimistic I promise!!
