Are you a hoarder? Because I love beautiful old china but how many do you actually use for beverages? 8? 10? I have about 118.

No, it's not. The China can be washed.

Actually, if you Google "piano planter" you will find that has been done, repeatedly, and in many cases both imaginatively and beautifully. Putting an object to an alternative purpose can be a beautiful thing.

I use old china saucers!!!! Better than putting them away in a cupboard, especially once the cup is no longer around.

Some people do that. lol. I don't know about these cups, but I "re-purposed" one of my old favorite mugs into a plant holder because it got cracked on one side and I didn't want to throw it away.

It could be they don't have a full set anymore, so they're using what they have left for pots. Or maybe they had too many cups.
