The world is full of facts, and if you are as hungry for knowledge as we are, then we've got a whole menu readily available to you. Here at Bored Panda, we have random facts, mind-blowing facts that are perfect for 5 year-olds, facts that can even change your perspective of things, and facts that sound utterly fake but are totally true.

But this time we rolled up our sleeves and compiled a list we can call “the palate cleanser.” You see, this one is not for the faint-hearted, nor for the ones with high blood pressure and a tendency to have a nightmare or two every now and then, ‘cause today, we're gonna dive into the facts we wish we never knew.

You may wonder, why read them, then? It’s for the same reason we watch horror movies with covered eyes. Getting to know some creepy stuff about the world is hard, but not knowing it is even worse.

30 Of The Creepiest Facts People Have Shared In This Viral Thread That Many Wish They Didn't Know After the Pulse night club shooting, when the cops were investigating, you'd think it was pretty quiet in there.

It was actually a cacophony of ringing cell phones. So many friends and loved ones calling people they knew were there, hoping they'll answer the phone and say they're ok...

30 Of The Creepiest Facts People Have Shared In This Viral Thread That Many Wish They Didn't Know Before you die, your last words could be, "I don't feel so good."

I was a paramedic for 15 years and heard dozens of people's final words. The phrase I heard most often, possibly from half to three quarters of them, were some form of "I don't feel so good." I've also heard, "Wait, somethings wrong." "Somethings happening." "I don't feel right." "Wait, somethings wrong." "It's happening." "Oh no, Oh no."

People feel the blood leaving their brain I think. Must be like a rush.

The inspiration for the song "Whalien 52". The artists described themselves as the lonely whale in their earlier years because no one seems to hear them and listen to their songs. "Lonely lonely lonely whale Like this, try calling once again Until this song that doesn’t have a response Reaches tomorrow"

30 Of The Creepiest Facts People Have Shared In This Viral Thread That Many Wish They Didn't Know On Mt. Everest, you have the rainbow valley, the last zone to climb to reach the peak. Which sounds cute but it's really the colorful jackets of dead climbers who are frozen in time against the white harsh snow.

Also, when close to the peak, the oxygen levels are so low that the body is starting to die. You only have a few minutes to reach the top.

More specifically, Frank said, “You’re feeling uneasy because you think there might be something to worry about here, but the signals are not clear enough to warrant your doing some sort of desperate, life-saving kind of thing.” Thus, it’s different from having a fear of something or revulsion.

Kathy was the dolphin who most often played Flipper, and she committed suicide. This happens due to depression. In this case, it was crippling captivity. In another case, it was being separated from a researcher with whom the dolphin developed a strong bond. No way to confirm this as true; I worked 29 Shuttle launches. It is more likely they were killed or unconscious from the explosion, or killed from lack of oxygen or G-force. It is almost certain, but no way to verify, that they probably were dead or completely unconscious immediately after the explosion.

There is a parasite called Dracun culiasis, or more commonly "Guinea worm" that can enter your leg through drinking infected water. You won't notice anything until ~1 year later, when a small portion breaks the skin to release larvae. At this point, it's a meter long.

A. Meter. Long.

And it has to be extracted centimeter by disgusting centimeter.

NTDs are the stuff of nightmares.

I don't know if you'll see this but my moms cousin died of a brain aneurysm. The doctor said they've been finding it to be a hereditary thing and his blood relatives should get a cat scan to check. Turns out my mom had three and one was a ticking time bomb that would have killed her. She had brain surgery for it shortly after and has been great. It's really scary though. One of her sisters and another cousin also had them. If you don't already know this I hope you see this and if you do please have your family talk to a doctor about getting checked. It could literally save their life

Our dear friend complained of headaches but refused to get checked by his doctor. When the aneurysm occurred, he was swerving down the street in his vehicle and hitting parked cars and garbage cans. The family almost had to fight the police who wanted to cuff him and haul him to the drunk tank. They finally convinced the officers that something was terribly wrong. He didn't make it.

A brain aneurysm can be detected by MRI before it ruptures as an incidental finding when an MRI is done for another reason. An aneurysm can be coiled so it's much less likely to rupture. So it is not true that there is "litterally [sic] nothing you can really do about it." Aneurysms can also be a familial defect, so if a close relative has had one, you are more likely to have one too. So yes, "anyone" can have one, but risk stratification is still a thing.

This happened to my Dad. it was the week before Christmas . The first after he retired. He was sitting up in bed talking on the phone to someone and laughing. When he was finished I went on to ask him if he wanted a cup of tea and he was there still sitting up but slouched, dead. He was gone in an instant. Our doctor said that it would have been like someone switching a light off. He felt no pain and would not have known what was happening to him. He went the way he deserved to go. No long drawn out illness full of pain and sadness. 12 years later it still hurts. The lucky thing was that about an hour later he would have been driving into town. If he had had his Aneurysm then he would have crashed his car and maybe taken someone with him and that would have been too devastating for words.
