A sense of entitlement is a personality characteristic that's not exclusive to spoiled kids. The belief that you deserve special treatment or recognition for something you haven't earned can be quite universal.
And the subreddit which we will call 'Entitled Batch' can prove it — this online community is dedicated to shaming people who think they can always get their own way and are better than everyone else.
The moderators, however, point out in its 'About' section that the sub "in no way intends to spread hate or abuse or to offend any party, it was created for story sharing and entertainment."
Since its inception in December 2018, it has amassed quite the collection. Here are some of the most popular posts that have appeared on the sub since our last publication on it.

If a person isn't behaving as badly as these folks and you aren't sure whether they might have a sense of entitlement, experts suggest going through the following characteristics and seeing if they apply:
- People with a sense of entitlement expect to get preferential treatment and special favors in life, without regard for why they should be treated specially. They assume "the world owes me." For instance, they might feel that the policies of an organization should not apply to them because they should be treated with special favors.
- Regardless of what they have, they strongly believe that they deserve more. They expect to elevate their lifestyle above that of others without putting in the effort needed to do so.

- When they reach a certain level of success, they feel that everyone should bend over backward to help them. If someone has a problem with them or does not agree with what they are doing, they will try to make the other party feel as if they are wrong and that it is a horrible thing to disagree with them.
- Their personal needs come before everyone else's needs. They believe that it is your job to ensure they have everything they need, even if this means that you have to sacrifice taking care of yourself.

- They're very dramatic when something does not go their way. In these cases, they might try to make themselves look better by bringing you down.
- They are not grateful for what they have in their life. A person with a sense of entitlement may not say thank you or show other signs of appreciation for what they have. This is because they believe it is their right to have everything, so they don't value anything.

Well when common sense goes out the window, there's always Twitter polls.
- A sense of entitlement tends to be spread across their entire life. Someone who acts this way about one thing is likely to act the same way in other situations as well. They may be greedy or will take friends for granted instead of being appreciative.
- They act like victims and blame other people or outside forces for their problems. Again, someone with this attitude believes the world owes them and that other people are responsible for making their lives better.
But if you read through the list and remain unsure, look them up on the subreddit 'Entitled Batch'. If they're not here, maybe they aren't that bad, eh?

What A World We Live In. $8 Is Not Enough?
I always tip food service workers because I respect them, but when someone wants to force me to give them an extra big tip, I'm not going to do it. That's greedy.
I tip them too, but not more than I would, say, a pizza delivery person who actually had to put the food together and make it before delivering it. Door dash and the like simply just pick it up and drop it off. 8$ is a lot for that.
Load More Replies...So, she was paid and also given a tip, then she took the food. That's theft
All those apps have customer support and options for a refund if you never get your food. I once had a guy refuse to get out of his car to deliver my food because it was raining. I even tried to go outside with an umbrella and meet him halfway, but couldn't find him anywhere, so I gave up and got a refund for a cancelled order.
Load More Replies...That's a tiny bag for almost $60 worth of food (assuming a 15% tip is $8). $8 is NOT a bad tip for picking the food up and driving it to someone's house. Plus, the driver can see the tip ahead of the delivery. So this person was totally the a$$h*le.
I've seen the actual video this was from, the driver's excuse was that there was a lot of traffic and it took them a long time.
Load More Replies...As a dasher I can't even tell you how many people don't tip me. But how crazy do you have to be to take their food back?
I had a delivery guy that brought us food, but the restaurant said we needed to pay for it again because they didn't get our information. My card was charged and I told them they had to take it up with their processing center. When she told me I had to pay again or no food, I turned to my husband and said "I have to pay for it again, apparently and then go through the hassle of getting a refund when they get their information from the payment center." The girl on the other end said "You BETTER pay for it or you aren't getting any food." I turned to the delivery guy, handed him $10 tip and said "Take it back. I don't want it anymore." I called my credit card company and explained the situation and they took the charge off of my card.
Stop supporting these 3rd party leeches. Tip that doesn’t go to the driver, plus ‘service fee’ is easily +$10 to your meal, and the restaurant has to pay a fee as well. Call the restaurant, go pick it up, tip the counter person. The Korean place I love has everything $2 cheaper on their website menu vs door dash/eat st/uber eats, with more items to choose from. Best BBT in town, too.
"Tip that doesn’t go to the driver..." I don't know how other services handle this, because I've only ever used DoorDash, but literally 100% of the tip goes to the doordasher. "...plus ‘service fee’ is easily +$10 to your meal..." I just looked up my past receipts in the Doordash app, and the *largest* service fee I've ever been charged has been $2.70. "Call the restaurant, go pick it up, tip the counter person." Not everyone has the privilege of being able to do that. For example, as a disabled person -- who for medical reasons cannot drive -- I can't just go pick sh*t up unless the restaurant is within a couple of blocks of my apartment, which is about how far I can walk on a good day. (BTW there aren't *any* restaurants within a couple of blocks of my apartment.) Thanks for the judgy lecture though.
Load More Replies...i recall watching this video, driver complained of having to drive 40min to pick up the food and was expecting a bigger tip, no mention of food value, but then proceeded to hold it as ransom, when denied, left to return the food. The restaurant, though, according to buyer was only 10-15min away , so was dumbfounded as to why it took her 40 min.
From what I remember she was p!ssed because it was a fairly long drive to the customer and she was convinced that she was entitled to a much bigger tip than she got. When the customer refused, she took the food with her.
I think a rock to the back of the head would've stopped her from stealing your food.
Had a neighbor just the other day that got someone else's order (I can't remember which delivery service). She called the company and they said they don't send drivers back to pick up the food so enjoy your free dinner. 30 minutes later the driver showed up on her doorstep and pounded on the door demanding the food back. Super creepy. I'm guessing the mistake comes out of their pocket.
A tip should be a bonus for a job well done, not an expectation of me to pay your wages. Pizza guy got less than he would have since he was almost 30 minutes past the time it was supposed to be here.
That is food ransom! I bet when he called she was not long for that job!
I sometimes order stuff via Lieferando (delivery hero in germany I think). I ALWAYS give them a tip of 2 € at least, without a word, because the app that they're required to have on their phone is a snitchery hazard - it has to have access to the microphone, and it may very well be that stuff is recorded and analyzed. I wouldn't bet any on them not doing so, but I think they deserve way more than what they get, and if every customer would do that, their wage would actually be pretty good. But it isn't, the relying on tips to make a job sufficient is starting to invade europe as well. Usually, a tip here is considered a bonus for service exceeding the normal, not a replacement for a wage that allows to live. And so it should be, everywhere. I think I will re-evaluate using these services, as I don't think they act like they should - they should pay a fair bit more, they should provide a bike that is safe and reliably so. 2€ extra for 30 minutes is the least I have to do I think.
I get upset before at least half the time I get no tip at all. Not a penny. I would be ecstatic to get $8
I’ve been tipping my driver 25-30% on my Door Dash deliveries, but it’s always added to my bill. I’ve never even had to meet them, much less tip them at the door. I assume they know what their tip is before they even pick up my food. If that’s the case, and it wasn’t worth her time, why would she have even bothered to pick it up, much less deliver it?
Its not her job to decide wether people get there food or not, she probs didnt cook it

This isn't entitlement. This is bitterness that some waste vast amounts of money on stupid things while others go homeless and hungry. This is just being angry at the unfairness of life.

No, actually, no. Because these are prime examples of how we all are very much the same and just live in our own bubble. And it's good for people that live in very mediocre bubbles to see that other bubbles exist that are a whole lot different (and a lot less prevalent we hope). Just because it is not to your comfort, doesn't mean it can't actually grow your own sense of empathy towards others. And if it's too much. Skip it. But I can assure you there's a reason you didn't. These are wonderful examples to see how "most" people react to situations like these and how people that act like that are the ones to stand out from the masses. You are looking for confirmation and you got it.

I am honestly not sure if there are more entitled people living now. Or is it we are more hyperconnected and can share this surreal existence in real time.
