A sense of entitlement is a personality characteristic that's not exclusive to spoiled kids. The belief that you deserve special treatment or recognition for something you haven't earned can be quite universal.
And the subreddit which we will call 'Entitled Batch' can prove it — this online community is dedicated to shaming people who think they can always get their own way and are better than everyone else.
The moderators, however, point out in its 'About' section that the sub "in no way intends to spread hate or abuse or to offend any party, it was created for story sharing and entertainment."

If a person isn't behaving as badly as these folks and you aren't sure whether they might have a sense of entitlement, experts suggest going through the following characteristics and seeing if they apply:
- People with a sense of entitlement expect to get preferential treatment and special favors in life, without regard for why they should be treated specially. They assume "the world owes me." For instance, they might feel that the policies of an organization should not apply to them because they should be treated with special favors.
- Regardless of what they have, they strongly believe that they deserve more. They expect to elevate their lifestyle above that of others without putting in the effort needed to do so.

- When they reach a certain level of success, they feel that everyone should bend over backward to help them. If someone has a problem with them or does not agree with what they are doing, they will try to make the other party feel as if they are wrong and that it is a horrible thing to disagree with them.
- Their personal needs come before everyone else's needs. They believe that it is your job to ensure they have everything they need, even if this means that you have to sacrifice taking care of yourself.

- They're very dramatic when something does not go their way. In these cases, they might try to make themselves look better by bringing you down.
- They are not grateful for what they have in their life. A person with a sense of entitlement may not say thank you or show other signs of appreciation for what they have. This is because they believe it is their right to have everything, so they don't value anything.

Well when common sense goes out the window, there's always Twitter polls.
- A sense of entitlement tends to be spread across their entire life. Someone who acts this way about one thing is likely to act the same way in other situations as well. They may be greedy or will take friends for granted instead of being appreciative.
- They act like victims and blame other people or outside forces for their problems. Again, someone with this attitude believes the world owes them and that other people are responsible for making their lives better.
But if you read through the list and remain unsure, look them up on the subreddit 'Entitled Batch'. If they're not here, maybe they aren't that bad, eh?

I mean, that is kind of the deal. Women have been historically paid less or stayed home because men had to provide for the whole family. If we are talking about a very traditional patriarchy, men inherit the land because they need to provide for a wife and family, women do not because their husbands are the ones who provide that. People have historically married for financial reasons, even today that is the driving factor in relationships. Only for a short period did people site love as the main reason and that resulted in higher divorce rates. When women are not equal, then yeah, you take the financial position of your partner into consideration. I make more than my husband, but I did marry him so I could apply for financial aid. I even supported him through college, but there are a lot of women not in my position and they are working against a biased structure so be mindful of your choices in partners.

Or, and I know this is a bit out there, we could just treat people like actual people regardless of their gender, we could treat each other as equals and work together - sadly there's not enough people doing so already but I'm doing my bit in teaching my children that people are people and everyone should be treated decently even if they don't deserve it, be the bigger person and don't lower yourself. Maybe one day it'll be common place, doubt I'll live to see it though

My ex-SIL used to say the first marriage was for money, the second for love. That was her excuse for cheating on her husband (my husbands youngest brother) when he didn't have steady work and couldn't afford to buy her a house. She then walked out, ran to her lover, only to get slapped in the face with the reality that her boyfriend (who was also cheating on his wife) had no intention of leaving his wife and promptly broke it off with her. She burned her bridges when she left my BIL...so now she is single. My BIL, in the meantime, re-married to a woman that helped him get a good job and now he's bought the house, has a new car and a better life. Go figure...

Guess maybe I'm entitled, because I would be a bit annoyed by this, too. Mostly because they have their store hours listed as something different than what they actually are. The internet is such an important part of your business model these days, and so many companies fail to recognize that. It's not that hard to change how your business is represented on google. I can't tell you how often I check google before going anywhere. It's literally the first impression most people get of your business. Get with the times. Stay on top of that stuff.

No, actually, no. Because these are prime examples of how we all are very much the same and just live in our own bubble. And it's good for people that live in very mediocre bubbles to see that other bubbles exist that are a whole lot different (and a lot less prevalent we hope). Just because it is not to your comfort, doesn't mean it can't actually grow your own sense of empathy towards others. And if it's too much. Skip it. But I can assure you there's a reason you didn't. These are wonderful examples to see how "most" people react to situations like these and how people that act like that are the ones to stand out from the masses. You are looking for confirmation and you got it.

Waiting at the dealership for my car service, sitting reading a magazine. I guess I "thought" people knew that a magazine, open and face-down in the chair means that I've gone to the restroom. I come back, guy's sitting in the chair reading the exact article I had been reading. Yes, there were numerous other seats without open magazines in them. I realize I expect too much.
