A sense of entitlement is a personality characteristic that's not exclusive to spoiled kids. The belief that you deserve special treatment or recognition for something you haven't earned can be quite universal.
And the subreddit which we will call 'Entitled Batch' can prove it — this online community is dedicated to shaming people who think they can always get their own way and are better than everyone else.
The moderators, however, point out in its 'About' section that the sub "in no way intends to spread hate or abuse or to offend any party, it was created for story sharing and entertainment."
Since its inception in December 2018, it has amassed quite the collection. Here are some of the most popular posts that have appeared on the sub since our last publication on it.

What’s Wrong With Applebee’s?
I'll Be Here For The Rest Of The Day
If a person isn't behaving as badly as these folks and you aren't sure whether they might have a sense of entitlement, experts suggest going through the following characteristics and seeing if they apply:
- People with a sense of entitlement expect to get preferential treatment and special favors in life, without regard for why they should be treated specially. They assume "the world owes me." For instance, they might feel that the policies of an organization should not apply to them because they should be treated with special favors.
- Regardless of what they have, they strongly believe that they deserve more. They expect to elevate their lifestyle above that of others without putting in the effort needed to do so.

- When they reach a certain level of success, they feel that everyone should bend over backward to help them. If someone has a problem with them or does not agree with what they are doing, they will try to make the other party feel as if they are wrong and that it is a horrible thing to disagree with them.
- Their personal needs come before everyone else's needs. They believe that it is your job to ensure they have everything they need, even if this means that you have to sacrifice taking care of yourself.

- They're very dramatic when something does not go their way. In these cases, they might try to make themselves look better by bringing you down.
- They are not grateful for what they have in their life. A person with a sense of entitlement may not say thank you or show other signs of appreciation for what they have. This is because they believe it is their right to have everything, so they don't value anything.

Oh My
I Guess She Got The Answer
Well when common sense goes out the window, there's always Twitter polls.
Some men love dates with friends? So if it doesn't work out with the first woman, they don't have to go far to find another one? Or are 6% of the respondents hoping for group sex? Sooo many questions (NB: I have really bad insomnia - writing lurid speculations at 3 am may not be a good way to cure it).
Sorry about the insomnia but please keep up the speculations
Load More Replies...I hate womem like this. We have fought and still are fighting very hard to be seen as independent and treated the same as any man. And then a couple of entitled idiots demand that men pay for them and give us all a bad reputation.
No need to waste your energy Ozacoter! People like this will continue to exist unfortunately! We will still fight and continue as we know! All women are not perfect and it's okay cause all men are not perfect either! Hopefully next generations make more progress
Load More Replies...A friend of a friend of mine (so yes, I got the story second hand, but my friend isn't a compulsive liar... yet, I guess?) had a date like this, and she brought her little nephew (less than 10). The guy couldn't believe his eyes, but what he did, was funny: That was the best day for the kid: They went to an amusement park and he enjoyed everything possible. The girl? Not so much. No one cared about her that day...
While I'd get pissed at going on a date with someone and two of her friends, I'd be a lot more understanding of bringing along a child. I'd assume babysitting was hard to find.
Load More Replies...so did you expect him to pay for you AND your friends he didnt know you where bringing ? you got balls i guess
I'm more concerned about the 650 who would also appreciate what seems to be an unplanned group date with her and her friends and non of his friends.
Probably guys with too little dating experience who think group dates lead to group sex.
Load More Replies...The 6% that said yes are probably thinking "Well if things don't work out with her, I can always ask her friends out...."
I would have walked away as soon as she said, "These are my friends. They will be joining us"
I must say I think the gentleman was very intelligent - he asked you out not your asshole fiends and you surely belong with that group!
I don't know why, but the use of emojis makes entitled people more annoying.
Well, she can find that 6%. Unless those men think it'll end up in a threesome
If going on a date, unless otherwise stated, you don't bring your pals with you.
What planet is this freeloader from? Who brings friends along on a date? Will she ever mature into a fully functioning human being? I have so many questions...
It happened to me once and stupid me paid for everything but I knew there was going to be no second date. Which I explained to here afterwards.
This reminds me of my birthday dinner, which my brother was hosting at a favorite Mexican restaurant. He, his wife, my husband & I, my 1/2 sister & her daughter, and my stepmother - sister's husband had to work & couldn't attend. So, as we're eating dessert, my sister orders a meal to go. When it was brought to the table my brother asked "Um, who else are we feeding?" My sister says "Oh, I told Jon I'd bring something home for him". Now, bear in mind my brother is footing the bill. He & I made eye contact and were both obviously thinking "Are you f*cking kidding me?" She didn't have the courtesy to ask if brother minded buying dinner for someone who wasn't there and didn't offer to pay for her ABSENT husband's meal. This is pretty typical of her entitled mentality. She's 30, btw.
worst part is that she's convinced to be on the right part! but WTF ?
I don't like to hang out with more than one person at a time, even platonically.
I would have thought that you should ask BEFORE and not AFTER, expecting someone to foot a bill for an amount of people they did not agree to or plan on taking. F**k.
some people are rude thinking that just because it is a date the boy is going to pay the bill
4% that responded yes are serial killers and it just cuts down on hunting time if you can get them in a group. Other 2 percent just very lonely and will take any interaction they can get.
Were you all going to date him together? Hope he has a king size bed.
Did you ASK if it was okay to bring friends when he asked YOU to go out with him????
I am 61 and I never went out on a "date" in the American sense, but I'd imagine that if my date brought a couple of friends with her, I'd just walk out.
So were they friends with benefits? I could see some three-on-one action here...
I accidentally did that to my bf before we started seeing each other seriously. I invited him to come out with me and my friend. He thought it would just be the 2 of us. I certainly never expected him to pay for us though.
It’s even worse when she invites along (surprise) “and this is my boyfriend.”
I love that she actually held a poll. Now she can blame twitter for being wrong.
I am 45 years old and I've never taken a friend on a date. I understand if your religion requires it but I would consider it rude if someone asked me out then brought a friend. Is this a thing now?
Men are not wallets, we are people with feelings and dignity who won't let everyone treat us like doormats.
- A sense of entitlement tends to be spread across their entire life. Someone who acts this way about one thing is likely to act the same way in other situations as well. They may be greedy or will take friends for granted instead of being appreciative.
- They act like victims and blame other people or outside forces for their problems. Again, someone with this attitude believes the world owes them and that other people are responsible for making their lives better.
But if you read through the list and remain unsure, look them up on the subreddit 'Entitled Batch'. If they're not here, maybe they aren't that bad, eh?

This isn't entitlement. This is bitterness that some waste vast amounts of money on stupid things while others go homeless and hungry. This is just being angry at the unfairness of life.

This is the kind of garbage best kept out of BP. Leave it where you found it, seriously.
No, actually, no. Because these are prime examples of how we all are very much the same and just live in our own bubble. And it's good for people that live in very mediocre bubbles to see that other bubbles exist that are a whole lot different (and a lot less prevalent we hope). Just because it is not to your comfort, doesn't mean it can't actually grow your own sense of empathy towards others. And if it's too much. Skip it. But I can assure you there's a reason you didn't. These are wonderful examples to see how "most" people react to situations like these and how people that act like that are the ones to stand out from the masses. You are looking for confirmation and you got it.

I am honestly not sure if there are more entitled people living now. Or is it we are more hyperconnected and can share this surreal existence in real time.
Waiting at the dealership for my car service, sitting reading a magazine. I guess I "thought" people knew that a magazine, open and face-down in the chair means that I've gone to the restroom. I come back, guy's sitting in the chair reading the exact article I had been reading. Yes, there were numerous other seats without open magazines in them. I realize I expect too much.
..more and more BP articles are negative.. what happened to the uplifting ?.. every article now is about someone calling someone else out for shameful behavior.. this article is about a bride who had a fight.. who's right?.. sigh
You chose to read this, there are still plenty of feel good articles on BP but you have gone out of your way to read something you don't like in order to post a negative comment. You are 100% what this article was about. Grow up and take some responsibility.
