A Member Of This Online Group Asked “Without Mentioning Your Country’s Name, Which Brand Identifies Where You’re From?”, And Here Are 30 Of The Most Interesting Answers
It's truly impressive that some brands out there have managed to make themselves so famous that most of us would probably be able to recognize them just from their branding colors or even from a small piece of their logo. And it's equally amazing how such world-renowned brands end up popularizing not just their products but the places they come from as well.
A few days ago, Reddit user UnimelbEnthusiast started a little game by asking other community members "Without mentioning your country’s name, which brand identifies where you’re from?" As of now, the question has received around 40.6k answers and more than 36k upvotes. With that being said, Bored Panda invites you to look at some of the most popular answers and to try to guess what countries these people are talking about.

Guinness.
Ferrari or Ferrero, pick one. Also Fiat if you seriously want that lol.
Tim Hortons.
Tim tams... Or Vegemite I guess.
Never heard of Tims Tams, but I've now got The Land Down Under by Men At Work playing in my head!
Ehh, I really do not like Vegemite, people don't seem to like me for that.
Load More Replies...Are they a candy? Packaged pastries (like Hostess in the U.S.)?
Load More Replies...People give a lot of hate to vegemite but the trick is, not to eat it like Nutella :D
Nokia.
I thought it would be a while before somebody mentioned Nokia, but it's good to have an early Finnish.
Dacia. "Good news! It's the Dacia Sandero!"
Heineken.
Dutch inventions: Bluetooth, Wifi, Cd, DVD and Blu-Ray, Speed camera, Microscope, Telescope. And they come up with sewer water.

Stella artois.
Terrible excuse for a beer to represent Belgium; no one even drinks it here! Should have gone with Duvel or a Trappist (monastery ale).

KerryGold
Apparently the only butter from grass-fed cows. Good enough to put in your coffee.
9gag.
9Gag is a website without hardly any moderators censoring the comments. You can read all sorts of cringey stuff on that site from undiluted racism, homophobia, misogyny, misandry and fascism to "good guys" reporting how they have been treated so bad to quite the opposite of all this. I'm sure Trump would have had many good days if he had known how to subscribe to this site.
Nintendo I’m not into computer games tho.
Lacoste
Lol nothing, the only thing I can think about is oil but that's not a brand.
My country is also not there but I'm not even sure what brand could be used that they know it abroad😅😅😅😅
Load More Replies...Unfortunately, we have some good brands but they are more known by those who share our culture. Because they are quite local or regional. One brand which is good and should be tried is Amul. I think Bollywood can be considered a brand... unsure..
I think most people outside of India would have heard of Tata.
Load More Replies...I think of the states and all I can come up with is old glory and a semi-automatic. It's unfortunate but accurate.
Not Whittakers (choc from nz), bungee jumping! Ì mean where else would have have a country far away from everyone and so bored we invented(edit: popularised/normalised) hurling off bridges with elastic tied to our legs XD
Special thanks to ACC - the law that made it all possible
Load More Replies...I have a good one, though it may be a tad obscure for some. Fourex :) or Fosters. Extra points if you know exactly where they’re from without looking them up! 😋
I'm Australian and had to look fourex up because I had only ever seen it as XXXX and I didn't know it was actually Aussie made :)
Load More Replies...Not a country, but Ice Road Truckers, Deadliest Catch, and about a million other reality shows.
Just saw McDonald's. It may identify America...but is that really what we want to be known for? At least Ford had the assembly line.
