Only vaguely a food opinion, but, there’s no such thing as a “special occasion” food. Like, cakes are often associated with parties. But I’m a grown man and if I want cake because it’s Wednesday I’m gonna go get myself a Wednesday cake.
Breakfast is an "anytime" kind of food. It doesn't have to be restricted to 5 AM - 1030 AM. Sometimes I like bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and strawberry vanilla crepes at 8:47 PM.
Cupcakes with super thick and ornate frosting are fun to look at but rarely tasty
If they don’t have thick, genuine buttercream frosting, they are just sad muffins.
Just because you like hot food, doesn't mean you have to use the absolute hottest sauce you have.
I can handle hot, but prefer medium, where I can enjoy the heat but still actually taste my foods flavour.
I honestly don't think rice belongs inside a burrito. Get the carbs from the tortilla and any veggies. Rice is just a useless filler to make the burrito seems fuller than it really is. Also corn tortillas are superior for tacos.
Runny eggs are gross. Your favorite chef's "perfect scrambled eggs" look like vomit.
Sushi rolls shouldn’t be so big you have to take more than one bite or else they disintegrate
Just eat your sushi, rolls, maki or sashimi in an actual Japanese restaurant : taste before size. Leave the big fake ones to the western fast food chains
Sticking to the traditional authentic versions of foods is not necessarily better. It’s ok to be creative in cooking and mix things from different cuisines
Sometimes you have to modify them to suit the tastebuds of the people you’re serving them to. I don’t just mean people who weren’t raised on them, there are also people whose gastrointestinal system is somewhat delicate, and can’t take hot, spicy foods. Or wheat. Or dairy. Or…you get the picture.
Anything tastes good when you put sugar on it. People who think they like rhubarb are just kidding themselves. No one liked rhubarb. They like sugar.

Why are french fries not suitable for breakfast but tater tots are? I should be able to eat whatever I want for breakfast even if it’s not typically a breakfast food because it’s still mostly the same.
All food is food. Food doesn't have a schedule. Eat a curry for breakfast and cereal for dinner. The food doesn't care.

Tater tots are not suitable for breakfast because you could have had hash browns.
I have no idea what a gator tot is but when you are in charge of your own eating schedule, eat what you want.
A tater tot is a one or two bite size piece of seasoned shredded potato.
Load More Replies...Yeah, I don't get why people complain about wanting to eat breakfast foods for dinner...but not about wanting to eat *anything other than the socially accepted set of breakfast foods* for breakfast. Breakfast is far more restrictive in terms of terms of the foods you're supposed to eat, and you want to keep to those restrictions throughout the day?
Had look up what tater tots were. Other than an occasional 'full English' with hash browns, I don't think many Brits would think of anything like that for breakfast. Lightly boiled eggs with soldiers for me.
I'm a grown as* adult and I will eat whatever I want, whenever I want. Ice cream for dinner? Bring it on.
If I had fries with a meal the night before, and there's more than I want at that time, I keep them for the next day, chop them up and re-fry them in butter/oil and make my own 'hash brown'. Never wast fries.
You guys have saved my soul.! I had a craving and made French fries mid afternoon. They were delicious, but I felt so guilty.
I know I couldn't stomach certain types of food for breakfast, but I never understood those categories. Food id food. If you feel like soup for breakfast, or pasta, or whatever you choose, why not?
Tater tots look like kroketten here. They are a breakfast food in the US? Strange. BUT as you can see different countries have different breakfast foods, so just eat whatever you like!
My grannie had a small convenience store before they were called that. She cooked burgers for the loggers and other rural workers. I would beg her to make me a hamburger before the school bus came. Sometimes it worked. I was a happy child then. Or, happy until I got to school.
Breakfast is defined by what you eat for breakfast, regardless of what it is.
By definition “breakfast” merely means “breaking fast”. Whatever you eat as your first food of the day, no matter what time it is you consume it, is breakfast.

It's a matter of habit. In the morning I drink cappuccino with a pastry (if I am not dieting), but drink coffee (Espresso) the rest of the day. I never have salty/savory foods for breakfast, but I'll gladly eat eggs and bacon for dinner. Free country and all that.
My Auntie was the director of Nursing a rather large hospital and she chose predominantly to do the night shift. My cousins would wake up every morning to a full “Dinner” for breakfast basically. They would then have a snack or something light for tea. My five cousins became A international human rights lawyer, a Neurosurgeon, an Aeronautical engineer and a RAAF fighter pilot.
Agreed. I always raise an eyebrow at people who go off on a rant about what "should" be eaten where and when. Some people are so pedantic about stupid issues that don't concern them at all.
At Bojangles you can choose bo-rounds (like tater tots) or fries. They sell plenty of fries with breakfast

Truffles are overrated. They are used on everything as a buzz word and generally don’t even need to be there to begin with.
They are usually added so sparingly, that I'm still not sure I know what a truffle tastes like. I would quite like to eat a whole one, just to find out.

Wrong, bananas are a MUST on fruit salad, their texture os no different than grapes or kiwi, and the flavor they give its amazing.
Unless it is a very good steak, burgers are better.

Canned fish is awesome! Not just sardines and anchovies but you can get all kinds of fish in cans, even stuff like clams and even squid! And if you prefer food without too many additives or processing, look at the back of the can, it typically says something like "ingredients: fish, salt, some sort of oil (veg or sunflower or something) and with some, the processing is so minimal the fish is just cooked in the can after sealing during the pasturization process.
Try kipper snacks, they kinda have a smokey bacon taste. Fantastic treat/snack
Kippers are amazing. Add a little butter and Mmmmm. Also, canned mackeral fillets in tomato sauce are perfect on toast. It doesn't sound good, but it is extremely good.
