Had the same experience in preschool. Mom came to pick me up with a perm. Her hair had been stick straight my whole life. It took a lot of convincing before I believed her or my teachers and I'm proud of my preschool self because I refused to go home with a *stranger*.

We had an issue last year, crows on the farm I’m on, we get along (I fed them peanut butter sandwiches weekly), til one weird a*s day one broke in and ripped my female quails heads off and didn’t eat anyone, just killed them for fun. I was so upset and the farmer noticed and shot that particular crow when he was back to get the rest of the female quails, that crows family/murder, were happier than ever after and I feel like we killed the arsě hole crow of their family that no one liked 😂 I expected and all out war. And side note, I noticed after it all the A.hole crow has carefully and slowly picked apart the metal sheeting to their window of their coop in a way you couldn’t notice, I leant on it and it pushed out and it figured out that is how the crow did it.

I know that you can't quantify the effect of individual physical or mental pain nor what the straw is that is too much for each person. Even so I am amazed, inspired and humbled when I see people in such dire straits who show such a wealth of determination and optimsm.

I think kids understand and see things that we don't. We just seem to lose that level of consciousness when we get older. So maybe she knows something about that tree that we don't. Maybe it's someone she used to know.

I have chronic depression and chronic pain...I'm with my parents ( leaving today after 2 weeks with them), doing the best I can to show them that I'm fine, even happy. I just want to be in bed, no talking to nobody and in the dark. My mother is a very talkative person, and my father is judgemental and doesn't understand depression. I'm so tired. I can't wait to return to home. It's exhausting to be with them. They say that I come in holiday, but for me it's everything but holidays.

My mom isn't much of a spender on herself. If she buys something extra for herself or goes our for a day at a local casino (still doesn't spend that much) she used to comment about spending our inheritance. All 3 of us have tried to encourage her to do what she wants e Feb if it isn't cheap. We'll remind her it's hers and she doesn't owe us any inheritance. If there is money left when she goes, oh well split it up ame that'll be that. I mean 2 of the 4 of us are paycheck to paycheck and could use money, I couldn't live with myself if I thought she didn't do anything for herself, just to leave inheritance, however small,. I'd feel terrible. We all reminder 'mom, it's your money. You should spend it however you like

My mom took 10 years to die. I’m pretty sure that she wasn’t even there for the last couple of years. Everybody was happy for her, that her suffering was over. I was asked to give the eulogy. I spoke of her sense of humor, and asked others to share funny stories of her. It turned into a memorial roast, which she would have LOVED, had she been there!!!

I feel so bad for you: it's so sad when people suppress one's interests (or desires, or kinks, whatever!) with judgement and shame. As a teen it's quite normal to have them (and also later!). I was so worried someone could find my drawings that I destroyed them all. I don't regret to do so, but I am sad that I felt like I had to.
